  • Hello everyone 😊
I'm trying to include more fundamental crochet tutorials on the blog, including learning new stitches. There are a LOT of stitches out there, and while I don't know them all, I'd like to share the ones I do. The ones I don't, we can learn together as we go!
This one is called the drunken granny stitch. I love the name haha. Lets cheers with grandma and crochet together. This is a very simple, beginner friendly stitch. It's just a one row repeat that you can make many different things from. Hope you enjoy 😉
What are you going to create with this stitch?
    Here's the written instructions knitcroaddict....
    Notes:
This crochet drunken granny stitch is in a multiples of 5 + 4 ch
This crochet drunken granny stitches a is 1 row repeat ( row 3 )
You can use the same stitch with multiple colors or single

Your tutorial are the best because you explains things very well. I have watched many videos on trying to learn how to do planned pooling (making plaids) and I am still not able to do it. You being a great teacher could probably show me how to conquer planned pooling crochet stitch.

This is my favorite stitch!! It works up sooo fast. Over the winter months I made 12 scarves with this stitch bc I got addicted to it. I used a light weight DK yarn. I made some skinny (not very wide) and some same width as yours. I some of them infinity scarves. All of them were more to be stylish than for warmth bc I live in Florida.
But the 1st row was hard to sew to the last row. So I went back to 1st row to add a hdc (with sc stitches too) border and did same at other end so I could sew them together easier, but don't think I did it right. That 1st row that's worked off the foundation chain is holey and seems frail to just sew into.
I was wondering if you could make an infinity scarf with this stitch and show us how to correctly make a straight edge on both ends b4 sewing together. Or just use the sample piece u made would be fine to show us on. That 1st row working off the chain leaves very big holes, so u really only have foundation ch to work into and I do not like that edge to be so frail when making infinity.
Thank you for doing this tutorial. I haven't made this since October of last year. Was fun to see again. Also, that Sheepjees yarn, is that a 4 weight yarn. It is so pretty and looks nice to work with. Thank you.
