This is an excellent video. I’m not new to crochet but I’ve always struggled with granny squares. This video thoroughly explains how to make a granny square without going so fast that I get lost.
almost every granny square tutorial is too fast for me and i want an explanation for every step that i make, and your tutorial was perfect for me, i felt like i was being taught by my cool aunt, i felt so much comfort from this video, thanks
It is such a joy to watch your videos...so much clarity and you explain so patiently shows your love for crocheting as well as teaching others. So thank you n God bless you
Hi Ophelia: You are so pleasant to watch. This tutorial shows every step and stitch. So far my favorite granny square! Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. Now, I have to make 4 more. No problem. 💜😎🇺🇸
I learnt how to hold my hook and yarn just yesterday. And after some practice, today I made my very first granny square! Thank you very much for this tutorial, it's really helpful!
I’ve been learning stitches for the past few weeks and decided to finally take the plunge with a granny square today. I expected to have tears, frustration and likely defeat on my first go but your tutorial was so brilliantly explained that I now have a beautiful granny square which I am showing off to everyone. So chuffed!
Lovely colour combination and the way you demonstrated is reflects your patience and passion for the work . Indeed it's a revision for me . Thank you ...❤
Thank you so so so much for creating this video!!! I literally just started my first ever crotchet project and I've been looking for days for the right video. Thanks to your extremely detailed instructions I was able to finish my first granny square!!!💞
Thank you for this video. I’m not a beginner but I still had something to learn from it. I like how you start a new colour with a standing dc and how you secure the yarn on the back of the square at the end. This is better than making nots that disturb the shape of the square.❤
I'm new to crochet ... and followed other videos for a granny square ... and this is by far the BEST & so easy !!! Did 1 square with the video and after that it was smooth sailing !! :) My next challenge will be sewing them together !! Thanks SO much for the video !!!
Great job Bethanne! I have videos on joining the squares too, just go to my channel page and put joining in the search bar they will come up. Good luck, and thank you, Anja x
I've been doing granny squares for many years. But, your tutorial is fabulous especially the technique of joining a new color and using the slip stitch and chain 2 at the beginning of each round. It makes the square completely square and not wonky like many other granny squares that I've seen. Do you also have a tutorial on joining the squares to create a blanket or other projects?
Thank you for sharing.... I'm a little bit confused again! lol! How many times have I tried, but when I'm getting longer with there, I start getting crazy now.😂😂😂
Thank you for this extremely clear video. I’ve done lots of granny squares in the past and that first square is sooo difficult to get right. Your video tells me where I’ve been going wrong with the last stitch at the end of the first square. I understand how the lady said she didn’t understand the video but I suggest she just keeps trying and one day it will magically happen. It took me a long time to 'get it'. Thank you 🙏
Great video. I really like that you start with a standing double crochet. I usually start in a corner but I'm going to try this way. Thank you so much!
I love Granny Squares, but it has been a long time! This is an excellent refresher tutorial for me to get familiar with the setup again. Thank You very much!!💜👏👏👏
Best ever lesson on how to do a granny square !!! Thank you very much !!! So happy to have have found you ! Thank you ! Hope you have a great weekend from Canada:)
This is a fabulous tutorial. I have been struggling with making granny squares, but today I created a cushion cover following this 😊 Thank you so much 😊🙏

This is the best video I’ve seen so far on granny squares. I was so intimidated about them, but this video is so clear and walks you through every step. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I can’t wait to see more of your videos. One question what do you do with all the extra yarn from cutting each round/colors?
Glad it was helpful! I hope you will enjoy taking a look through my many tutorials. With the little ends? I throw them away, but you could save them and use them for stuffing if you ever needed any. Thanks for watching, Anja x
Ive just started a project on making granny squares for a small bedspread following another crocheter. I love the way you start your new row with a new colour and how you slip stitch into the middle DC when u joined the row. It gives it a much better non wonky look to the squares. I have been using chain 3 to start a new row and to join at the top stitch of the 3 chains. It makes my squares look so wonky. I will definately try your way.
