    I've been doing granny squares for many years. But, your tutorial is fabulous especially the technique of joining a new color and using the slip stitch and chain 2 at the beginning of each round. It makes the square completely square and not wonky like many other granny squares that I've seen. Do you also have a tutorial on joining the squares to create a blanket or other projects?

    Thank you for this extremely clear video. I’ve done lots of granny squares in the past and that first square is sooo difficult to get right. Your video tells me where I’ve been going wrong with the last stitch at the end of the first square. I understand how the lady said she didn’t understand the video but I suggest she just keeps trying and one day it will magically happen. It took me a long time to 'get it'. Thank you 🙏

    This is the best video I’ve seen so far on granny squares. I was so intimidated about them, but this video is so clear and walks you through every step. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I can’t wait to see more of your videos. One question what do you do with all the extra yarn from cutting each round/colors?

    Ive just started a project on making granny squares for a small bedspread following another crocheter. I love the way you start your new row with a new colour and how you slip stitch into the middle DC when u joined the row. It gives it a much better non wonky look to the squares. I have been using chain 3 to start a new row and to join at the top stitch of the 3 chains. It makes my squares look so wonky. I will definately try your way.
    By the way, what difference does it make if you hve a chain one in between clusters on the sides and a chain 3 in the corners? You dont have a chain 1 between clusters and i thought without a chain 1 it would make the square tighter.
    Im glad i found your video. Thank you! 😊

      Glad you have learned a new way, thanks for watching.
      I don’t do a chain one because I crochet loosely, for some crocheters they do the chain one to help their squares lay flat, Anja x

      Anya @OpheliaTalks , how would you continue your next row if you were not changing colour? Do you SC to the corner and then do the chain 2 in the corner, followed by 2 DC?

    I’m so happy I found this tutorial … I’m a beginner and wanna make a blanket so how granny squares would I have to make for a queen size blanket and how much yarn would I need

    • @OpheliaTalks
      @OpheliaTalks  11 месяцев назад

      The best way to tell is to make one, then measure and weigh it, that way you can work out how many squares you'll need to make the size, and then calculate how much yarn, I hope you understand what l mean TheRealDiamondLovee! Thank you, Anja x
