I counted the cuts (the amount of times the camera angle changes). I counted 351 total cuts during the performance (from 0:00 - 5:08) which was about 308 seconds long. This means that there was actually an average of 1.14 cuts per second. However, I can tell you that there are several spots where there are literally up to 4 cuts within a second - and a lot of times they don’t even make sense; like it’ll just be a frame of some shit you wouldn’t even notice. Note: 2:14 has a spot where two cuts are overlapping. Note: I also identified 10-16 unique cameras. There’s a minimum of 10 for sure lmao; I assume some could’ve been used for the other 6 angles.
That is killing me, i think they hired someone whose plan was a) to kill anyhody watching b) he had no plan, and just had fun with the editing software
I believe he had a great performance; the only one that made me disappointed is the screen, which made me so dizzy that I had to listen to this with my eyes closed.
I dont see why he doesn't attempt the transcendental etudes after paganini. He has the hand size and I reckon the technique. He should be able to attempt it surely right? I know its the best of the best but he should have the ability.
I honestly like other of his interpretations, like "la campanella", but this one I didn't like it. My favorite performer of Liszt's etude no.6 is Alexander Lubysantev
Agreed I saw a comment on Alexanders video saying lang lang played it just as well, but I'm with you, I disagree. Edit: I mean I'd give him second place for sure, but seriously the difference between Alexander Lubysantev and Lang Langs version is still huge

Omega_clan I actually find Lang’s version better. But that is because of my taste. I like slower interpretations better, because the notes sound clearer and cleaner. People often play too fast, because sometimes playing fast is easier than slower. When playing fast you don’t really pay attention to what your playing and it sounds bad in my opinion. It was also said that Liszt liked to play slow. Look it up, if pleased.

Truth and Downfall as if I haven’t seen that version 200+ times already. You can’t just cover beauty with speed and expect it to have the same effect. I think Alexander’s version may sound better, but it most certainly lacks the beauty that Lang Lang produces, for that segment
