The solo was EXCELLENTLY PLAYED, missing no notes or nuamces and thanks for making it so clear to see what you were doing and where you were going with it! I like the whole multi-shot setup too.
This is an outstanding lesson. The videos are clearly laid out so you can see the chords and riffs. The timing and everything are right in the pocket. Bravo. Very well done!!
How does RUclips know I just got home from watching Martin Barre perform this live. I was no more than four yards away from the man. Dammit, that song was done to perfection.
Hard to miss that riff. An old fave. Seeing it played live is an experience. I was at the concert when they introduced it. What a stunner. Tull has always provided excellent entertainment to say the least. Never a bad show. Always excellent.
Great rendition, thank you! Since my skills lie somewhere between rudimentary and non existent I will be happy to just play at a few chords and riffs and enjoy myself immensely.
Oh man that was beautiful. The best you tube cover of any song I have heard. Maybe in another life time for me come even close to that performance. The solo was brilliant.
Awesome job Mark! I've always been in awe of Ian Anderson's acoustic guitar playing. He has the best picking and smoothest delivery that I can think of. This, and other Tull classics are some of the best music out there...I'd love to see Thick as a Brick!
Dang impressive guitar work and vocals. That lead riff is oh so daunting though. I'll have to come back and watch again to see if I can pick up anything from what seems way beyond my abilities. Again, fabulous cover. Cheers.
Man if you know your pentatonic boxes and the little extension. And love the song most importantly. Took me my whole life to say fk shred play classics
Been member at this site for some time now and worth every dime. The print out on the tabs alone save a ton of hours trying to figure out licks. -Brett
I remember being 12 years old and being completely blow away by this album I had my GI Joe in one hand and a joint of alcopoco gold in the other hand. Thx suppurb job!...🗿
Tull have been my favorite band since I saw the Passion Play tour LIVE in 73. I've seen Martin Barre play this song dozens of times but he never plays it like the original version but you NAILED IT! Great job! Thank you for posting this. It is very much appreciated.
FINALLY!!!!!! Somebody gets it. Can not handle all the BLAH, BLAH, BLAH! Oh, your ring finger goes on the 3rd string under the bridge, and then on the down stroke you make sure you mute the.......... Can't thank you enough for this LESSON. This is awesome!
Awesome job! I found I could fake the feedback Martin gets on the Bb note on the Em (capo 3) chord in the solo build- up, by holding the Bb note and touching the G string at the 15th fret Bb to get an octave harmonic.
Here I am Oct 30, 2021, looking to add this to my busking repertoire!! Not a lead player so may edit my street version. Of course I have many months before I will back on a street corner, so who knows. Excellent cover on the vocals too! I see comments that this isn't a lesson, because you don't painstakingly show every single note 1 at at time. The playing is pretty clear, and if that isn't enough maybe those people should learn to play. Don't get me started on tutorials that painfully, and I mean PAINFULLY, try to teach the strum patterns... OK, enough rant...where is my guitar... - Cheers
That was one of the goddamn coolest guitar vids I've seen here on YT... Split screen on the lead and the acoustic, split on the chords and the strum I play guitar ( well play with it but know my way around the fret board ) This shit is bad ass if you want to learn to play..I done it from a book and a cassette player...hahahah
Absolutely "fantastic" you played that spot on, I subscribed immediately, thanks so much, super GREAT! So many guitar solos sound so terrible, great technique.
He did a fantastic job on this solo considering that he did the recording in one take with Jimmy Page watching him through the window... talk about pressure LOL
This is literally the most accurate cover I've ever heard of Aqualung. How could anyone dislike this video?
Excellent vocal and best cover so far.
I was wondering the same thing when I saw the dislikes
I feel like every single youtube video has some dislikes for some reason. Its inescapable
@@quinnmitchel4075 I think there are bots that dislike videos with a certain amount of views to even out the like to dislike ratio sort of
Right!!!❤️❤️❤️
I think you're the first person on youtube giving a lesson that can actually sing. I'm impressed. Wow!
TOP
The solo was EXCELLENTLY PLAYED, missing no notes or nuamces and thanks for making it so clear to see what you were doing and where you were going with it! I like the whole multi-shot setup too.
The floating head is fuckin EPIC
It was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
You mean EPICAC?? Lol!!
I listened to it a million times and it's the best cover I've ever heard, I love Jethtro Tull I love America and you are a teacher, Thank you
This is an outstanding lesson. The videos are clearly laid out so you can see the chords and riffs. The timing and everything are right in the pocket. Bravo. Very well done!!
Man this guy is teaching to the pros, he is not stopping, keep em moving if you get left behind, then tough!
4:41 - grabbing that G for just a smidge on the low E string is brilliant!
Good tutorial Finally somebody who sings along with chord changes. It helps. 👍
Mark Brennan you sang it well also. What a champ
God only knows how many times did i rewind back to hear the solo once again...... and again....... and again

Man, one of my all time faves and you have got it pinned! Diggin it.
Nicely done ... especially the guitar solo.
Yeah, and very well sung too! All the fine legato bits are there in the solo! Swell job!
Great rendition, thank you! Since my skills lie somewhere between rudimentary and non existent I will be happy to just play at a few chords and riffs and enjoy myself immensely.
Believe it or not, I am hear to learn how to play it better on bass. This video helped me a ton!! So clear and well done. Thank you.
The bass part is a blast to play, isn't it?
Oh man that was beautiful. The best you tube cover of any song I have heard. Maybe in another life time for me come even close to that performance. The solo was brilliant.
Fantastic job!
I frickin love that solo!! Very well done. Now I need to learn it!
If only this were a lesson and not a cover....Hmm
@@yourmomsdildodrawer Yea, but you can clearly see his fingers. Back when this song came out, you had to lift and reset the needle a zillion times....
Awesome job Mark! I've always been in awe of Ian Anderson's acoustic guitar playing. He has the best picking and smoothest delivery that I can think of. This, and other Tull classics are some of the best music out there...I'd love to see Thick as a Brick!
My friend, wuao, congrats ! This is by far one of the best tutorials ever placed on you tube ! This is the way to go and you opened it ...my blessings

What a super cool lesson. The guitar was fantastic. But that singer absolutely stellar. Well done.
Dang impressive guitar work and vocals. That lead riff is oh so daunting though. I'll have to come back and watch again to see if I can pick up anything from what seems way beyond my abilities. Again, fabulous cover. Cheers.
