As someone who is advanced in playing lead guitar but has mostly overlooked rhythm parts (focusing only on power chords), this tutorial is perfect for me. Thank you so much!
An he's palying sooo hard 'n nice to the long parts in "Let there be rock" with just one chord B… even in end of "It's a long way… "an so many others. Just change the strumming but keep the rhythm 😉 so I learned this for my tributeband -> The Deeds 👍
As a 20+ year player and shredder I think this video is awesome. It reminded me of some things I'd forgotten and taught me a few new tricks for writing. The stuff about major/minor bar chords is PRICELESS! As well as the downstrokes rhythm part. Practice it! Awesome video bro! Rock on!
I been jamming solo lead treble guitar solos for 40+ years and ive never thought in my life to do some of these concepts. Mind blown. Thanks guiter masterdy methub!
A very clear presentation. This man is a natural teacher. He should have been my guitar teacher back when I was 13 years old - in 1962. Guess I've got some catchin' up to do.
What a great lesson. Jeff Baxter is of the same thinking. He said " the guitar is an extension of your heart, play what you feel". Thanks for the video.
Yes !!! Excellent lesson for this over 40 year player that likes to think of himself (I'm talking about me) as intermediate because I know how to play many songs, but in the last year with having a lot of great songs available to learn on the internet and realizing my right hand wrist is not loose enough and hearing all that "up down, down up talk on tutorials "made me PARANOID, and more stiff. This just might help set me free ! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you !!! 😊
Quality video here. Rhythm is so important to a song but most people don't learn the discipline to do it. Everyone just wants to learn how to shred but doesn't learn how to carry the song. Nice work.
Thank you Mike. I have just started to figure some of this out on my own and I will definitely begin to incorporate both of these methods. So helpful! 🎸
Love the concept of two three string guitars! Using that concept, I think I can create a lot of new musical ideas with the chords I already know, Thank you! Subscribed.
This can be such an aid to novices!!! Got a friend stuck in one strum pattern and this should open up doors for him--these are simple tips yet effective and not covered by anyone else!
It's good advice to follow the up/down patteren untill it becomes second nature even with difficult patterns. The only reason I breake the patter is when I want to break it for different accentuation.
Omg. Love watching you play, hearing your guidance, seeing your lessons. 🙏 Been hoping for some simple yet quality instructions and information. Thank you so much.
Wish I seen this video 15. Years ago! Lol took many years of the down down up down and never got better at rythm. Broke out of that add. Some new awesome backin tracks and rocking out now. Good vid dude
This is a great video and the only thing I disagree with him on is the 80s stuff people still want to hear what they don't want to hear is guitar solos the last 8 hours. But I think to sum up this great lesson and you need to get with a band of course but the key is just adding to the overall band sound I try to blend that's all I try to do
Very nice presentation mate. I'm an ever beginner stuck in a strumming rut and you've really opened my eyes to a different approach. I'm a 60s/70s sprog and the 70s and early 80s had, IMO, the most amazing diversity in guitarists. Although I enjoy listening to great shredding like in Metallica, I'll always go back to the likes of Phil Lynott, Mark Knopfler and Dave Gilmour for lead guitar and how those guys complement the band rather than dominate the overall sound.
These few tips are so valuable and makes sounds in an easy way soooo much better!! Thank you very much for this. P.s.: I like the way how you explain - short and clear 👌
Hey Mike, I recently discovered your videos and I really enjoy them. I love Guitar Mastery Method and all of the instructors and videos.. I continue to learn so much. Thank you for all that you do. Craig Ewinger
You are so right! When I auditioned guitar players who came in and did the EVH thing. I'd then hand them an acoustic and ask them to entertain me. I never hured one of them
As someone who is advanced in playing lead guitar but has mostly overlooked rhythm parts (focusing only on power chords), this tutorial is perfect for me. Thank you so much!
Finally a good lesson that gets to the point! Thank you sir! May I have another.
More on the way!
What a great lesson ! Need more from this teacher!
Indeed!
You're in luck, more lessons on the way - make sure you are subscribed 😉
Best Rhythm lesson I've ever seen presnted in the real world.
This dude is a really good teacher!💯
Great lesson. So good to be told to feel the rhythm and not down up down etc. 🎸🎶
I'm a self-taught guitarist that shaped my guitar technique around Malcolm Young's, so I'm more a rhythm player. Malcolm's playing is sick !!!
An he's palying sooo hard 'n nice to the long parts in "Let there be rock" with just one chord B… even in end of "It's a long way… "an so many others. Just change the strumming but keep the rhythm 😉 so I learned this for my tributeband -> The Deeds 👍
Great lesson! Lots of new approaches and things to try. Thanks.
The two guitar idea is ingenious. I really like the contrast between the tones. Going to try and incorporate this into my playing.
Thanks for using a clean tone. Thats rare.
Bass & rythym....really smart
Clean and clear 90% of the time and dirt when required.
And no added excessive effects either, very tasteful!! Too many pile on the chorus, delay, and reverb, but he kept it minimal :)

Wow! What a great lesson! Awesome!
A very clear presentation. This man is a natural teacher. He should have been my guitar teacher back when I was 13 years old - in 1962. Guess I've got some catchin' up to do.
Knocking oh Heavens Door. Nice work.
Great practical lesson to sound better 🎸
Thanks Mike. I'm still hanging in there. Always good to take a lesson from you.
You put together a ton of stuff I have learned by trail and error for rhythm guitar in a single lesson. BRAVO!
What a great lesson.
Jeff Baxter is of the same thinking.
He said " the guitar is an extension of your heart, play what you feel".
Thanks for the video.
Another great lesson as always, thank you!!!!
I feel like the first two tips come straight from an experienced bass player. Great video
It's Bootsy's Basic Funk Formula baby!
Thank you for a great lesson. ❤
This is a fantastic lesson. Thank you so much

Thank you for the lesson! It has allowed me to progress forward!
Totally agree with all of this.
Thank you Mike. I have just started to figure some of this out on my own and I will definitely begin to incorporate both of these methods. So helpful! 🎸
Now THAT'S a super cool video!! Thank you!
Finally...someone who just talked to me in simple terms. I learned more in these few minutes than any other tutorial I've ever seen.

This was so helpful!

This is one fantastic RUclips lesson. If first impressions are important, you nailed it.
Thank you. Very good lesson.

Cool thanks man
I love your fender guitar really unique but the 89’s were the greatest sings came out!🎤🎸
Very cool man !
Great lesson dude! Thanks
This is great!
G Harrison's rhythm guitar for "All my loving" is insanely difficult for something that doesn't look like it.
love it. Great video. thanks
Good job sir keep bringing lesson
Near the end when playing upper voicing over knocking heavens door it sort of sounded like fade into you!
You are so right! When I auditioned guitar players who came in and did the EVH thing. I'd then hand them an acoustic and ask them to entertain me. I never hured one of them
Good lesson.
What worked for me was playing campfire guitar songs. But each time you have to repeat a pattern, change it up a bit. Doesn't have to be much change.
Awesome lesson, thank you! Subbed
Some great advice there
Great information my friend. This will be invaluable to players trapped in up down up up down prison. 😄
Someone knock knock knockin' on that door? ✊🎸
This is quality information.
Wow I thinking of knock on heavens door can believe this cool..RocknRollflat5
Actually helpful
Nice!
Thanks for the tips . Did they not play rhythm guitar n the eighties ?
No, they played Keytar.
