I bought the official Insta360 x3 wind muffs and they only helped with the wind noise a little bit. I've got a larger fur muff on the way, hopefully I can hack it to fit and not be seen in the footage. When you film in MeMode you've got a little more room to play with.

Hey man, I'm about to buy the official wind muffs to shot with cars (high speed). You think they can solve the wind noise?

@@ricardo145 sadly not. I have some and they are almost completely useless. I tried all sorts of things to beat the wind noise but the only thing that solves this problem is a Bluetooth mic. I use the DJI mic 2 and it’s perfect.

I just watched the first video i filmed while riding my motorbike and the wind noise is very high and annoying. I never thought the camera would have this issue and that insta360 wouldn't ship a wind muff by default in every purchase. I'm quite disappointed honestly but now just have to deal with it. That's why I'm watching this video. Thanks for the tip

Yeah you may be better to use the deadcat. I’m working on a mtb video from Wyoming on a very windy day and you can hear the wind but it’s manageable and you can still hear me talk.

You mind sticking it out your car window for a high speed test... maybe at 150mph?... superbike rider here

Lol I’m going to say it will pick up a good amount of wind when it comes to that. I’m thinking of creating some fuzzy ones and I’ll do a test video, but probably not at 150mph 😆

@@rywanders just a suggestion, try doing it on a electric fan, the stronger the better, saves you time and effort riding it on 150mph haha

Good video. A point of clarity: The insta360 brand have the "hook" portion of the velcro attached to the camera and the "loop" affixed to the foam. It appears you did the right thing and opposite of that. You apparently made the "loop" portion affixed to the camera and the "hook" on the foam. This allows for easy placement of the lens cover. Your video does not really show which was which on your application, but I think you did it the way I think better.

4:31when I looked at this footage I forgot about wind cover and started to think about band-aids and crutches. This is crazy! Good idea about mic covers also.
