The 360 cameras are some bit of kit and when the day comes to buy one to keep a record of my journeys it’s what I’ll be buying because I wouldn’t be that fussed on a chin mounted camera and the 360 really does it all but at the price of them I’ll be saving for a while yet 🤣
We've just purchased an X3 to compliment our GoPro footage from our helmets. We have only had one test run with it and need to really get stuck into experimenting. This video has helped us greatly, very much appreciated.
Thanks Dave for showing the different placements for the 360 cam. You can try a couple of other positions too: #1: clamp on the handle bar with rod fully extended and resting on your left shoulder. This will cover you from close counter (behind the helmet) this will give the audience of watching the view from your eyes literally. #2: clamp on the rear end handle bar. Love your practical approach to the videos, keep it rolling.
Thank you for this video! I have seen other motorcycle mounting videos, and like you said, I can’t believe that it would be strong enough. Especially with the selfie stick. I didn’t want to find out the hard way. You confirmed this. I have wondered about other ways such as sitting on the stick or stuffing it in my jacket. I haven’t used the camera on my bike yet since I recently got it in winter. But spring is here and I can’t wait to get out riding with it. Thanks again!
Good day to you. I am a senior rider on HONDA from Japan. Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading. This is so nice 360 camera video Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing! Full supported ! Have a nice day my friend!!
The first time I saw your stuff I thought you were using a drone. Apart from the bikes it would be the quality of the imagery that first drew me to your channel. Great to see how the "magic" happens
Thanks for putting this out. I just picked up the camera and will experiment with some of those placement 'techniques'. This will be a big improvement over my F/R dashcams.
As for mounting the 360 with the selfie stick fully extended on the handlebars or on the rear of the bike. I take a small piece of 2000-grit sandpaper and place it inside the clamp. I haven't had the camera slip using the sandpaper. At least so far. Neither does the sandpaper hurt the finish since it isn't slipping.
Every days a school day!!!! Guess I will “stick” around until the next vlog😂😂😂😂😂 seriously well thought out and informative for those who are looking for tips and tricks with their camera set up.👍Nearly at 7K. Yippee.
Nice video, I've just got the Insta360 x4 Motorcycle bundle and the Insta360 GPS Preview Remote. The clamp that comes with the motorcycle bundle is solid. I've used it a few times now in varying weather and it's great. The Preview Remote is a great addition too, just remember to update the firmware on the remote so it properly supports the 360.
Good day to you! I am a senior rider on HONDA Cross Cub from Japan. I am enjoying camping, touring and upload video. This is so nice video! Awesome! Have a nice day my friend!
Thanks for the how to. Not in my budget but will find a use for the tips. The it along Kylemore Lake, that is part of my playground, I love that section of the N59
Thanks for showing some ideas. I actually do put my selfiestick on the ram mount. Never had a problem with it. Only with removing the ram mount of my bike to chamge its position. Maby i will just buy one more for the rear of my bike😅
@@WheelieGoodTV well, I followed your link and the cost is in euros not dollars and it’s in Europe so I’ll have to see if I can find it maybe in the US Amazon market somehow. But it’s a perfect clamp for what I’m looking for because I’m gonna put it on sport bike with an Insta360 X3 the summer and I’m having a hard time finding clamps that I think are gonna be sturdy enough and strong enough to stay in place.
Every time i watch one of your videos Dave, it costs me money. But that clamp looks really good. And for the record i got the Insta 360 Motorcycle handlebar clamp that comes with as a kit. It is the only one that will secure and stay secured on my mirrors on the Suzuki GSX GT. So thanks for the advice.
Thanks Dave, I`ve just found your channel and it so happens I`ve just got the Insta 360 x2 model for when I`m out on my new bike (first one for over 35 yrs) Some great tips, thanks 😀
Great tips. Appreciated! I guess magnetic mounts are a no go for bikes. They are perfect for car shots though. The funny thing is I am using this motorbike clamp with a magnetic mount, as support for X3 on an extended selfie stick, mounted to a car via a suction cup mount. That setup works perfectly for some great 360 shots even at highway speeds. Might be useful for bikes too.
Just subscribed bro im a motovlogger as well been thinking about getting this for more shots on my bike definitely going to get it now! Thanks for making this video!
was looking for a how to on the 360. Great video, you seem like a very honest, talented. Great Ideas and tips for me to use. God Bless you. Sub. got a coffee for a thanks, you are a GOOD person, thank you!
Thanks Dave! I really enjoyed watching this video and the original from two years ago. Just ordered an X3 to place on my Honda ST1300. Not very many mounting options on the ST1300. Loved your sitting on the selfie stick ideas. PS. I am a 30 year veteran TV news Photographer here in the US.
Good vid as always Dave👍. Only comment re mic set up is you can't really hear the bike. It's a tricky compromise (narration and motorbike sound) I guess.👍
Yeah all about placement really. So many variables like what bike you’re on, what helmet you’re wearing, even the weather changes what the mic picks up. 🤪👌
@@WheelieGoodTV I’m trying to buy the bike cash so I don’t have a payment. I’m almost there. It’s gonna cost about $12,500 US. Can’t wait to see that video!
That's great Dave lots of good ideas to take in. All I need now is £500 for an X3 or indeed any other 360. Keep them coming great features. All the best Marc 👍👍👍
Coffee with Dave, and another quality video full of info. Don't quite understand how the stick disappears from sight when filming. Seems like "magic " to me. Very good safety advice. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Great stuff, I need that clamp but its out of stock! I have tried mounting on the selfie stick out the front of the bike but I tend to fixate on it too much!
I need to buy that big clamp mount for my rs660. The insta360 u-bolt mount failed when I tried attaching it to my mirror because I couldn’t make it work on the passenger pegs.
Great video and some great tips. I only ride a scooter when im away on holiday. Could you please tell me if the insta motorcycle clamp would fit securely to a mirror arm.
All good stuffs mentioned here! But how about the remote control? Do you think it is a necessity? Because of the camera that extended well beyond arm reach, how do you control it?
I never ride for more than a few minutes in any of these camera positions, then I stop and fold in the stick so I just manually stop/start. I won’t be using the remote.
I'm not quite following how you use the extended selfie with the third party doubt mount and how that's an advantage. I thought the weak point was the screw between the selfie stick and what it's connected to on the ball mount. Isn't that still in play? I think I must be overlooking something simple. Guess the self stick ball is tied into the third party mount but I'm not seeing how that reduced the pressure. Thanks.
Great video!! At the 3:00 mark you say don't mount a selfie stick to a ram mount. Did something break, or it just slipped? What happened,,,lol. I'm setting up a gopro on a sidecar It would just make things easier if I used a ram mount. Just wondering if I should now or not. Thanks
I love how confident you sit on the stick 🤣gotta try asap
I never would have considered sitting on my selfie stick lol. Thanks for making this. Nice BMW :)

The first tip to sit on it is the best!!!! 👍
Nicely done. Some angles (and your trick of sitting on the stick) are unique and appeal to me.

That one is the insta 360 smaller version.

It’s fine to mount to a ram mount as long as you don’t extend the selfie stick beyond a foot as it will slip due to the weight.
where do you mount your mic transmitter? rode wireless? i enjoy all your vlogs.
