I did exactly that ... I bought the insta360 X4 to start my Moto Vlog, because it is so versatile. Ok, it has it's downsides, e.g. huge file sizes in 8K, much post production and less than 4K in the final video, but it's much fun and helps me to go beyond the boring helmet view.
So final 360 vid is less than, 4k? Dramatically so? More than the GP360? I am looking to switch from GP due to quality ie 1080P after production just does not cut it anymore
@@thecorporategypsy The full 360 video is 8K, but when correcting the view in post ... if I remember correctly resolution then goes down to around 2.7K, when you want to avoid wide angle distortion in a standard action cam like view. I've watched around 10+ videos about X4, but so far your video is the best. This camera is for fun and you really reflected that perfectly in this video. ❤
[OC] I got the X3 and some sticky lens guards 🤷♂️ Also grabbed 3 years insurance with it - it's going on my bike, there's a possibility it'll get damaged 👍 My main use case is for safety/incident recording. I have a cheap (like £3) camera mount on my handlebars which works fine but i block the rear view - so I've bought a selfie stick and a mount to basically have it hover over my shoulder or something for a better FOV (still waiting on the mount, so can't say how well it'll work). P.S. That little ditty at the end... ummm, it was something 👍
I even turned the "Intelligent Noise Block" off on the Cardo, but it still would only pick up my voice on X4 and not the bike. Needless to say I'm playing with other mic/bike solutions. Another good thing about he Cardo, if you have it connected to the phone, you can listen to your Insta360 video playback if your using the Insta phone app. I was nice while I was reviewing my videos in the field. Realized I was getting to much wind noise. 😒
I have a DJI mic 2 with a little dead cat fuzzy thing that muffles wind noise. could probably mount that inside your full face helmet and have audio that way, and you might hear some bike noise. I have yet to try it in my full face helmet. I’ve had a cardo system for a few years and that works awesome with calls and stuff like you said.
I am in the market for a dash cam for my motorcycle. But this is interesting because of the quality of the video, I may pick up 2, one for the front and one for the back. Would be a little pricey but having good quality video in case of an accident is important.
Great video! I am wanting to get into video capture of my rides. After watching your video I purchased this camera. Specifically for the audio capture features. The only question I have still is, how would one be able to record audio between 2 riders with pack talks, or is additional equipment needed? Thanks again for helping me make up my mind on the right camera for my needs.
Question! I don’t know which cardo you’re using but, does the packtalk edge not have the ability to connect to multiple bluetooth devices at once? Would this at least solve the problem of not being able to listen to music? I want to get into motovlogging once i get my license but stuff’s expensive 😭 i already have the packtalk edge though 😬
Ok, I have seen 2 riders talk to each other with only one filming. Now I don’t know if it was mesh comms or phone call. So how would I do that? iPhone 15 paired to Africa Twin. Cardo pack talk edge paired to bike. So if I add either the x4, or ace 2 pro from insta 360, where do i pair my cardo too, and if I get a call, how do I swap cardo back to phone?
Sound advice, paired with a DJI Action 4 or 5 gives you some great footage. Hate the tiny planet effect though and I don’t use the guards, they cause flaring and have had no issues with damage while mounted on my motorcycle.😉🤣 PS. I do use them for low mounting points, ruined my X2.

hmm, maybe i did not phrase my question good enoug or i dont know some detailed specs.. english isnt my 1st language too, so it does make it harder for me to explain.. FOV of 1 sensor & lense is 180degrees, and 4k, right! ("half the sphere" of the whole 360 mode)? so i guess to crop the FOV from 180 to maybe 120 degrees for using it as a helmet cam, i guess you do crop into the footage too, ergo-facto, you do crop into the 4k footage, making it a bit smaller than actuall 4k? if im still not good enough explaining it, maybe ill leave it just by this one question: the part of the footage you used while in POV mode and used it as a helmet camera, was that footage native 4k, or was it a bit upscaled? p.s. sorry cahse, if you still cant understand what im asking, just ignore this pile of confusing letters 😆

hey my friend, not bad, but some annoying features, i am developing a 5 inch screen and camera system that allows you to fix 7 x mini hd cameras anywhere around the bike plus a twin mic (1 mounted near the engine and 1 you can mount inside the helmet for ride commentary) but the beauty of this system is THERE IS NO EDITING! Woohoo! all cameras record to 1 file on a single sdcard in 3-5-10-15 minute sections. insert the card into your pc and play back in widescreen format, the front camera remains constantly on view and fills the left half of the screen and the right half shows random scrolling of all the other cameras with a handlebar push button override function to automatically show the rear camera on the 5 inch screen and automatically when indicating left or right. this really helps with your lifesaver check, you can see everything behind you before you pull out to turn or overtake
