Fun Fact: The common theory is that this house is actually Links old house, since they say the owner reported to Hyrule castle, as Link did, and never returned, as Link did. Also lore you can find in the world implies and Age of Calamity outright states that Link is from Hateno Village, and unlike most of the newer houses that are made of these boxes that the new building group uses, it's one of the old houses that are still build with stone, implying it's older than the newer houses they build since the calamity.
The theory is that it's Link's FAMILY home, not Link's own home (he was only a kid). His father was called to Hyrule Castle as a soldier and knight so Link likely went to live with him at Castle Town when he was young and stayed with his father there as he trained and grew up in the ranks. I'm sure he and his father went home to Hateno every now and they just abandoned it when the Calamity hit. So it's heartwarming that Link was able to buy his family home back.
Yeah and it's still sparkling new after 100 years, like all those wood buildings and flags. Still not as fictional as fallout ruins jajaj.

@@grandpap0p126 there’s a way to manipulate the game to duplicate hearts and stamina. It’s cheating for sure. I used it to get my 5 year old the master sword super early on his profile so he could just wreck shop and have fun.
@@grandpap0p126 You can trade hearts for stamina or vise versa. For a fee of rupees of course
I traded in Stamina for hearts to get the Master Sword, and then after getting it, went back to get more stamina for climbing/swimming/paragliding. The Statue is awesome early on.

From the Ground up is one of my favorite quest in Breath of the Wild, because Link helps create a town just because he feels like it, he helps making a new community where people of different origins come together from the goodness of his heart.
And in the end, it has the best shops (the best place to buy arrows for sure). And also allows you to buy rare equipment back once it breaks so you dont lose it forever.

But the first time with 12 hearts or less, the Deku-Tree prevents you from dying.

The nostalgia of the game and the references that are old hat for me being seen with your eyes completely fresh to the series is heartwarming. I also love your voices. The funny thing is...Age of Calamity confirms that was originally Link's house 100 years ago. BOTW implies it was his house but doesn't confirm it.
I'm willing to bet the knight armor in the shop was his too, his own neighbors be making him buy back his own stuff.

My favorite part of Tarrey Town is that the theme music adds another instrument every time you add a resident.
Just a heads up, the master sword doubles in damage and lessesns its durability drain inside the divine beasts, hyrule castle, and vs guardians. I didnt know that till after I beat the game lol

"From the Ground Up" is my favorite side mission. It's also the longest in the game, but it's worth it.
It's pretty quick if you have the fully upgraded master sword and a lot of the map unlocked. I just bulk cut down like 100 trees to do the house, then I've got the rest for tarry town. Quick access to the people I need through shrines.
Although if you add some of that setup time on the bulk wood and some for the shrines and whatnot it's still kinda long.
The thing that unites almost all Breath of the Wild players: "I can't believe that actually worked!"

Oh yeah I only learned recently that you can get wood from those logs. It never occurred to me that they weren't just aesthetic elements...
or you can do what my brother has taken to doing and just bomb a forest to bits...actually he pretty much just bombs everything...bombs birds, bombs goats, bombs fish out of the water...I mean bombs are free so why not.

By the way, if you get the DLC you can make the master sword last longer in battle and do more damage with it.
Funny thing about that house is that it turns out that it was Link’s to begin with, and he’s the previous occupant who went missing.
And they let it sit for over 100 years before they decided to destroy it 💀💀💀

I like how the statue is supposed to be the super-sketchy devil figure, but really, in the game, it's one of the most useful things in the game, because it lets you change a heart container into a stamina segment and vice versa for only 20 rupees a pop. Really useful for getting the Master Sword, then transferring some of those extra hearts to stamina.
It is also using if you love glitches because it lets you fuplicate hearts and stamina

My favorite part of the tarrey town side quest is the fact that an instrument is added to the song everytime you find a new person to help Hudson.
Fun fact: since you have freed 2 champions, the monster variants have increased. If you hadn't freed any, you would still have red and blue bokoblins to contend with.
Actually certain areas will always have the higher variants, like I went to Hateno shore and found Black Bokoblins before doing any Divine Beasts.
Also, it's apparently tied to a hidden experience system (which affects certain weapon spawns too), so it's possible to change the enemy tiers without freeing the divine beasts (though blights are worth a ton so tiers do often change after beating them)
@@CarbonMage Lynels are also worth a lot. But fuuuck that.
Some areas as well are fixed at low tier (or very high) or set as at least lower than other areas but scale up still. For instance the great plateau is fixed low level. I also noticed the path to Zora as my 3rd divine beast was still pretty weak compared to other areas.

32:45 - 35:40 it’s moments like these that really touches my heart and soul. Its never been about the best graphics or just simply playing a game just to beat it and move onto the next. It’s about the adventures you make, the friends you meet along the way, becoming the hero you always wanted to be, and enjoying little moments while they last. I love video games for these reasons.

You're the reason I'm on my 4th play through. Watching you play is ALMOST as good as playing it the first time again. Your voices are fabulous and your reactions both funny and relatable.
I am 45. I used to play games like Lara Croft back in the days (25 years ago) and then I grew up and stopped playing games, focusing on work, family, etc. Zelda BOTW was the 1st game I have played ever since, and it hit me like a train. It brought me back to my teenager days like the food-critic on Disney's Ratatouille. I have watched so many YT videos on the game, bought merchandising, etc.
You cannot imagine how much I like watching you discovering the game for the 1st time and enjoying it just like I did during the 1st 6 months of this year.

The issues I have with that theory are that Link's father used to be a knight, so how could he possibly afford to move the family to a new home like that?
And, Link also had a little sister and that house wouldn't have fit them all in it.

I just want to say, I really love these Zelda videos. As someone who plays games for the story, exploration, and creative freedom, seeing you have so much fun really lightens my mood. And while Zelda games are awesome in their own right, I would be even more excited to see you play other games with those focuses, such as Super Mario Oddysey, Uncharted 4, or Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (and no, you don't need to play the other games in these series first). I think the audience you've grabbed with this series would really enjoy it, especially with your unique strengths as a steamer/youtuber. In any case, great job, and I look forward to your upcoming works!

I was thinking the same! He’s probably the best I’ve seen. Other players usually just read the words or do the same voice with slight variations, but he really infuses the words with character to fit who is speaking.

Without Revali's Gale, the malice is more difficult to get past than other towers, and then there's skywatchers and regular enemies.
Akkala tower tends to be one of the ones that leaves an impression (also central hyrule, though that's more due to being likely to encounter early and the surprise factor of that many guardians. Maybe forest tower as well?)
Tarry Town side quest is my favorite. I love the music.

I did that too! At some point, I used Mipha's weapon too much to the point it would shatter. Rather than trying to make a new one, I hung it on the rack and made a promise that when I reached Ganon, her weapon would be the final blow for him.
In case you didn't know, your master sword isn't at full power. In order to get the the true master sword, you gonna have to buy the DLC package if you want to or not. Once you get the DLC, go back to the great Deku Tree and talk to him about the sword. Then he have complete three difficult as hell trials. Once it's finally finished, you will receive the true master sword in all its glory.
One thing to keep in mind, every stable and town has a shrine nearby so you can easily warp to it. It'll help out a ton. Also, find the stable south of the Great Plateau, it'll lead to a sie quest I know youll love.
In your other episode, remember when you found the bird who wanted his own shop in rito village? You’ll want to remember him for the future. No spoilers.
I absolutely love hearing and seeing the appreciation people have towards this game and other Nintendo games. I know a lot of people think that these games are only for kids but damn do their stories hit home.
The lore of the Master Sword is very deep. It begins way back in Skyward Sword and becomes Links main weapon through the different games. That sword has been through so much!

When he said "I so fawking love this game", I felt that. I've had that same realization many times over the years ever since I pulled the Master Sword in OoT.
So I'm not the only one who puts Mipha's Trident in the house huh? That's too precious to even use.
not sure if this is late or not, but you can use bombs to blow up trees and logs to get bundles of wood, this way you don't damage your weapons chopping down tons of trees and cutting up logs

Don’t let the main quest boss you around, explore everything... talk to everyone... do all of the things.
Just a tip, whenever you explore somewhere Gannon related or fight something Gannon related, the Master Sword becomes empowered and glows. When its empowered it has significantly increased durability and damage
You will find Kass in various locations and sometimes he will sing about quests related to that very same places, if you make all of them... Well I recommend for all of you reading to do it (maybe DBG can't play the full game since he is a streamer and I understand they have to play a lot of stuff), whatever, doing that unlocks which is probably my favourite moment from the game. I won't say more since it could be considered an spoiler, but I must say I almost cried then, lol.
