Hey pin my comment this is important. Shoutout to the ZeldaDungeon interactive map he uses. Who are currently doing a week long charity marathon of every Zelda game for No kid hungry on twitch just 1 dollar can provide 10 meals for hungry kids.
I really enjoyed how different that Ploymus mountain area was. I wish more things had been as changed as that. Funny that you mention the impossible water flow with the sludge. I just watched an @anyaustin video a few days ago about Skyrim where he follows all the rivers to their sources and finds some plausible and some impossible things. My favorite thing about this video series is that you continually show relevant footage of every thing you're talking about. I realize that's a lot of work, but it's so much nicer that listening to someone go on about the topic but the using stock footage or random gameplay that doesn't line up. I further appreciate that you cover each location systematically and don't fill these with the overhype you get on some channels. Just really high quality stuff!
That all means a TON, thank you! I spend a lot of time gathering proper footage and editing. Cant bring myself to use stock footage unless im talking about something super generic or using it for my outros
I really do enjoy these videos. I wasn't all that impressed by TotK during my first playthrough, but getting to see each region side by side like this has really put it in perspective just how much work the Zelda Team put in.
Thank YOU so much for watching. I hope you enjoy this tour of Lanayru between BotW and TotK. I put a lot of time into this series, so let me know if I missed anything cool!
:D I love your vids bro. These games are some of my favorite ever, and I love watching specific content about them. Thanks for always going into detail. :)
its so strange tbh. its looks super wrong, ull notice it quickly. i think that it dont even get cold so you can walk around in the snow in with no snow gear if my memory dont fail me.
18:12 I think you forgot to point out where Vah Ruta is perched in botw after you defeat it by the circular pond where the fallen zonai architecture and botw dlc memory is.
I know its such a common criticism of TOTK but this really does highlight how the devs kinda try and pretend that botw barely even happened. They acknowledge it the bare minimum so seeing these comparisons where little nods to totks predecessor could have been mentioned its kinda sad. I sincerely love both games however its just sad to see
I just don't get why they had to make TotK a sequel, if they're going to ignore everything about BotW 💀 (The Sheikah? Calamity? The champions that DIED?? Any of the ancient stuff???? Divine Beasts? Barely anyone remembering Link despite the fact he saved them all from Calamity?) why
@hypothermiaaa fr like can we talk about how it feels like mipha got disrespected being moved out of the center of the zora domain's town and then put in the new place. It just didn't feel right but they just wanted to discard all the deeper notes from botw its sad
@@itsameamiaaa BotW is a story based on loss. You lost all of your friends because YOU weren't there to help. The world is destroyed because of YOU not being there. Nobody remembers you, and the ones who do (the Zora, for example) blame YOU. TotK is simply not the same. The world is recovering, and any destruction is simply not your fault. Also, the weird furry people suddenly exist, but from a very very very long time ago and also they're all dead now so it actually doesn't really matter. Except now you have the guy's arm and it's up to you to save Hyrule or whatever. ???
@itsameamia8779 I thought they moved Mipha's Statue because it shows that the Zora have now moved past their grief and depression from her loss, as well as the Calamity in general. Now she stands on a mountain overlooking the entire Donain, while being in the center of their clean water source.
@thejemstone9219 its kind of mixed to me, in a vacuum yes i like this, but also i wouldn't say mipha's statue has to be just a point of grief. My main thoughts here are just the botw shunning to where they take something from the game and move it / remove it to make it different or not as important to know what happened in the first game.
I think the developers didn't want to replace all of the shrines with the same thing. Their solution was to replace some with something interesting and others with nothing at all.
You talking about the baby Didon scene? In my final review before going to publish, I was going to change the timing on that one, but it made me lol when she just says "sweet"

In case you weren't aware, Any Austin actually did make an equivalent river video for Hyrule just recently!

ok
So that's Gerudo (Gerudos) Eldin (Gorons) and Lanayru (Zora).
Just need Hebra (Ritos) and I'll be happy 😊
Coming soon(ish) I'm gonna close out the right side of the map before moving over to rhe other side where Hebra is so I dont forget any regions

the amount of sins performed in this video is unfathomable
please keep this series going. this is exactly what ive been looking for, a deep comparison
Def working on comparing the entire surface maps, and several other comparisons. What do you mean by "sins"? Lol
I "finished" ToTK a couple of weeks ago, but now I think I might need to check to see what I haven't finished :) thanks!
i think it would have been cool if the Sidon and Link statue was put where the Shiekah shrine Ne'ez Yohma used to be in Zora's Domain
Always a good day when Tony makes one of these
I feel like everyone forgets about the lanayru roads, like it looks so cool and makes you wonder where it came from. Like the sheikh, or hylins
18:12 I think you forgot to point out where Vah Ruta is perched in botw after you defeat it by the circular pond where the fallen zonai architecture and botw dlc memory is.
Oooh excellent point, thanks! I omitted that by accident. It came up during production and I didn't write it down in the moment and now I wish I had.
