Thats great to hear! With the 4.0 update, blender has made things alot easier when it comes to rigging (with the addition of bone collections) I highly encourage you to make the switch. :)

Not seeing the sample options in the rigify menu?
i dont have the riging options when creating a bone
Make sure you have rigify enabled under preferences > addons > rigify
