    I recently came into roughly 250 rolls of pennies that were rolled over a period from the 1950's-1970's. I've only opened a couple so far: 1 roll of wheaties (40-58) and a roll of 1970-S that absolutely looks uncirculated. The luster is amazing. I'm excited to see what's in store.

    Laminations on silver war nickels actually DETRACT from their value rather than adding to them. A perfect strike is far more desirable, as laminations were a rather common occurrence on this poorly alloyed metal.

  • @cardinalsfan5447
    @cardinalsfan5447 3 года назад +4

    I understand what you're saying but with the pre 83 Lincoln since they're really worth about three to four cents of their copper in value I know you cannot melt them down yet but I personally saved them because just like silver coinage, you will be able to melt pennies eventually. I look at every one of them as little $0.03 pieces.

    All the old mint rolls looked like the white n red striped one in the right. Those old rolls were all over the place in 80's n 90's. Now pple making they mortgage payment off a roll of em now, crazy. Ahh, 20/20....

      Those are not old wrappers. The solid color red are actually much older. This is actually a very lengthy discussion to break down wrapper types that are correct for certain time periods. But the stripped one you spoke about is not one of them

    • @richardw6592
      @richardw6592 2 года назад

      @@ryanhavok584 white n red striped ends what I remember... like the design they have now in machine mint rolls. Solid colors were usually bank branch wrappers. The older white n red ones machine rolled, usually have that off white color in middle on older rolls, from the Mint. But they can fake that too. I seen a web page selling boxes of wrapped pennies in solid color wrapper, said they were unsearched lol, but they were repacking old crapy wheatys in a $20 box I believe for around $400. Theys making big bank$$$ on re rolled non special wheatys on the coin roll craze during pandemic. Crazey markup on boxes 📦 of old wheatys that were undoubtly already searched thru for gems. Had a ticker on how many were sold, somethn like 1,200 boxes @ the time. Def took advantage of the coin craze during pandemic.

      I'm glad you mentioned in the video about profit margins. Too many people think businesses are out there to just give and take 1to1.
      They don't realize YOU have to make a living as well. I think 75% is quite fair.
      As a customer selling a lot of that size, I would prefer 75% value cash in hand, rather than have to make the rounds to shops and fleabay and part out all those coins for probably less after all is said and done.

    I dug up a 1909 Cent, a VDB at Yokohamas. I also dug my only Indian, 1889 there. 1944 Cents ate returned to circulation.
