No way at that age he could collect that collection. Probably a hand me down collection. I have 3 generation collection of stamps, wish it was coins !!!!
This is an amazing collection! I started collecting 2 years ago and I am 12 years old now so I am greatly inspired by this incredible collection of coins from around the world! 👍
4:17 That Polish 1958 5 Zloty piece "The fisherman" is worth 1 - 2 $ in circulated condition, but in Mint State it jumps to 200 - 250 $. Very desirable in MS among Polish collectors.
This is the problem with collections like this. I think there needs to be an app where you can just take a picture of everything and it tells you if it's rare or not. You could miss out on heaps of money just by not knowing exactly what you've got.
I LOVE this video and I can't wait to see more of this collection. The searching the unknown collection with genuine reactions along with the reactions of your friend finding something that is truly special in the collection makes videos like this more than worth the wait!
So cool! Thanks Max. I never find anyone selling stuff like that... typically it's just the state quarter collection that they think is worth way more than face value
I prefer the state park coins. Most have no idea they exist though they have been spending then for 11 years. That is a great test of your friends sheep level. Do they even know anything about the money they slave on for
@@Willppyro Sound like a hater brother, lol. You should catch up. Look up high sales on Ebay. I have the 2019 and 2020 Great American Coin hunt coins graded that are selling well, the One eyed Bats and Blind Bat Error got me into coins then Silver. Gotta start somewhere. What are your coin interests?
Seems like thats gonna be me soon. I didnt even touch my coins in over a year, but seeing coin videos on RUclips has reignited my passion and I've opened my coin binders up and sorted out all my wheat pennies my mint mark, which took about a week. Lol. Thank you for showing these videos. Very cool stuff there. 🙂
I hope he gets back into collecting and does some research on his collection. I know you want to buy it but what a great thing to pick back up and he has a huge jump start on the rest of it.
Achi, I'm getting the vibe that you're in Israel. The look of those streets in the intro, the look of the apartment (flooring, kitchen, mezuzah, etc.), the Israeli beer on the shelf, and the guy's sweatshirt. I lived there for a bit over 4 years from 2014-2019 and loved it. The plan was to settle down there for good, but life circumstances led me to move back to the US in 2019. I miss it each and every day and hope to someday be able to move back there again.
7, 8, 9, & 10 ... four years with a stated weekly allowance of $3, pretty nice collection for $624. :-P This video was posted in 2022...and the collection hadn't been touched in 20 years, or since around 2002. Ballpark then, he was actively collecting from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, which doesn't seem that long ago when you get to be my age.
nice exciting clip. Reminds me on those occasions when I go thru heritage coin collections. Sibblings neclect those and have no clue of the real value. I mostly by those cole, ctions as a bulk and sort it out, which is so exciting
Yes! This is great. Showing the entire process of how you go through a collection like this is very interesting and something I am doing right now. I’d love to see all the steps right down to how you inventory and value individual items and bulk stuff. It’s very overwhelming for my friend that knows nothing. Onward!
I had a small collection going when I was 5 or 6. My dad would take me to the flea market and one of the stops was always a coin shop. Can’t at all remember what I had, but I remember loving buffalo nickels and half dollars. Have no idea where those coins went and am sad that i stopped collecting after he passed a few years later.
@@Silverpicker How on earth did he managed to pick up that many coins when he was 7-10 years old? I’m guessing maybe this dealer was someone the family knew well-can’t imagine them just dropping him off there for hours unless they did know him.
Awesome!! This is my favorite vid you have made!! Do this more often if you can! Go into detail on what you found. Go through the rest of the collection please.
Man have you got it right about there being some real bottom feeders in the coin business. I collected coins for over 20yrs,i had most of my coins sleeved and graded, my initials on the back. My house was burglarized and they took absolutely everything. They went right downtown and sold it to a guy who owned an antique store. I saw my coins coming up sale. I told him I knew that he had bought my stolen collection. He looked at me and smiled and said prove it. The coins all disappeared off shelves
Yes Scotsman coin still exist its in my city. One of the most professional coin store near me. Every time visit they have lots of stuff for sale. They have a website where they list products. That is not the current address they moved down the road.
That was amazing. I have a RUclips channel and I went through a bag of 700 wheat cents and found 7 semi key dates. I thought that was amazing. I got like a 200% - 300% ROI on that and I found a dateless V nickel in a bag of coins that I nickadated and it was an 1885. This video had 10x way cooler coins. I need to see the rest of the footage. That was amazing 🤩
I like videos like these, real world collections. By the way, I LOVE the 10% pesos and buy them whenever I see them. Have over 300 of them and would ultimately like to put another zero on that number.
I really would like to know more about this. Did he get most of them out of the sale bins at this dealer’s? (That’s where they often put the foreign stuff-it’s hard to sell so they let it go for cheap.)
Actually focusing solely on whether the coin has silver/gold or not is not the best strategy but then for the US stuff you do acknowledge this when you highlighted the nickels.
A phenomenal collection for a 7 to 10 year old to put together !
No way. Teach them buying silver instead of copper or nickel/etc.
Yea, a little to phenomenal for me.
He probably used all of his money from when he was 7-10 years old at the coin shop
I guess he had a very good allowance from his parents

That’s great! I used to live about a mile from that shop a couple years ago and it was indeed still in operation and still a good shop.
That is so good to hear that it's still in operation. We need local coin stores to stay in business!
