- Old coins of the 18th-19th century restoration. Cleaning and Preservation old coins.
I found these old coins in the woods. I found some coins at the site of military camps of the First World War, some coins near old roads. Coins of the 18th-19th and early 20th centuries. The coins are in poor condition, needed to be cleaned and preserved to stop corrosion. I removed the corrosion and preserved the coins. I hope you liked my restoration.

I know that under a coin collector perspective, these coins would be worthless but honestly, it's still great work and restoration from your place. Good job man !!
@ubermensch777
Actually they are worth more before the restoration because that’s how coin collectors want them: exactly as found not clean literally exactly as found
@@MeredithHosea-kq5gx Thats not entirely true, coin collectors want coins in good looking condition, the coins before cleaning were basically worthless, they had lots of verdigris, bronze disease, and other non wanted characteristics, the coins after cleaning would make any beginner coin collector proud, while yes if this type of cleaning is done to coins in mint condition, they will destroy the value of the coin, but for coins in such bad condition, it will add some value back to the coins if done correctly.
Well he ruined not to much, those coins are more common in the former Austrian empire. But to see how he used a metal brush hurts my heart a lot...
*_I have watched many of this kind videos but honestly this one was more perfect and in detail_*
it makes me emotional to think about the people who made these coins. the people who mined the metal, the people who melted it down and purified it, the people who stamped the designs into them. i wonder if they ever thought someone would treat these items so carefully and with such reverence hundreds of years later. i hope that they can somehow feel the appreciation of the work and know that their efforts are being honored even after all of this time.
I also always think about this.. not to mention how many people held these coins in their hands and for how many people it meant getting food or not for that day. I'm sure many of these coins made a difference for alot of people through time
I too think of this. The history behind these coins and coins in general are so fascinating, The people who used them in day to day lives and what they did to acquire them.
Чудово!Давно хотіла побачити реставрацію саме монет,дякую
We find coins every now and then on our walks , have always done the white vinegar clean up . Might try this , you got great results.
I'm a 'novice' and I learned early on, collectors want the authentic coin. I cleaned mine early on & now regret it but lesson learned 😂
We’ve all done it fella. 😢
Hey that happens to all beginners, even me when I was a young kid I wanted my found coins shiny, until I got older and especially when I became a coin dealer and conserver I made sure to study what is the best way to clean coins without destroying their value, in the end its all about preserving the patina, but he added value back to these coins, by removing the encrusted dirt and the dreadful green stuff called bronze disease that will eat your coins and spread to others like a cancer.
too satisfying. The speed up sound is beautiful
Many years ago, when I was a kid, my mom would have me pass the time by polishing up old pennies. She would always look for old Wheatback pennies (as she called them) and put those aside, and she'd grab some Brasso and I'd just spend all afternoon/evening hours polishing so that they looked brand new again. She also taught me to use toothpaste for nickels, dimes, and quarters. Not the gel toothpaste but the paste variety (like Crest).
You've got a beautiful collection of coins here...I see some British and German currency. I might very well be wrong, but are there Polish coins in there as well? The older Polish Eagle symbol is very unique and I thought I saw a couple in there.
That eagle was austiria hungary coin
You did a good job of destroying your coins then, and there's no such thing as 'very unique'. Something is either Unique, or it isn't!
@@michaellooney1089dude, you did realize that when wheat pennies were in circulation, they weren’t worth anything
*Excellent Numismatic Restoration Work, CONGRATULATIONS!*
This makes me want to cry.
That turned out really nicely, I always enjoy your restorations. Thanks!
All I can say is OUCH !!!
great video!
I would never use a brush. Baking soda and hot water works a lot better.
Cleaned coins are worth the metal, that's it. Coin collectors only want "original skin" on their coins. But, they're your coins, do as you want.
Coins that encrusted and dirty are worthless, he added value back to them, and saved them from slowly being eat to dust from the green monster called bronze disease.
гарні крейцери
Nice collection 👍🏿
If these were valuable coins, this would be a bad idea. Coin collectors prefer them exactly as found and these would be considered worthless after cleaning. But most likely these were not worth any money anyway.
Only mechanical cleaning is suitable for valuable coins.
⁰⁰
Your sounding like they’re valuable even when they’re rusty and dirty. If old coins 🪙 considered to be old and rusty are they still worth value if so I never known.
@@taylorthompson9752 yes there are rusty and dirty coins that are worth thousands of dollars lol.
You mess everything
LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE WORK, KEEP WELL..
I love watching this. I have coins I want to clean but from everything I have heard cleaning hurts the value...but seeing an old coin restored is satisfying. Haha. I guess I will practice on American pennies and nickels from the 1990's. haha.
Some coins gain value, some lose value, but most are practically worthless from the getgo. Which coins do you wish to clean?
Only in America!
@@david82633I have a morgan dollar with pitina on it. I have not touched it yet. I know it is not a one of a kind coin.
Nice old coin restoration.. you are a great boy 💪

Hi
I wanted to ask what else a numismatist is interested in apart from numismatics. Are you interested in paintings, paintings, sculpture or bas-relief? Greetings from Poland
Great work, a labor of love. I'd love to know the liquids you used(that were not mentioned),and where to buy them.
Weird I would want my coins clean. I see a ton of comments about keeping them as they are but some were soo dirty you could barely make out anything..?
I agree, he added value back to those coins, people are just repeating what they are told without educating themselves on how to properly conserve "clean" coins. even the large grading companies like PGCS and NGC clean coins.
Wow nice coins❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Awesome work. Can you explain what are ingredients for cleaning solutions? or is it a secret? :-)
good job 👍👍👍
Be interesting to see the coins now and how much green is on them

Im confused on what is in the solutions
Would an ultrasonic cleaner work?
This is the first step. Then you need to clean the active corrosion on the coins and preserve them
@@ReXtorer Thanks. I e never seen a coin restoration before. Great vid 👍

Diversity is beautiful, unlike today with one currency fir the whole EU. The european coins even look like the brasilian ones...
I randomly found out that on pennies you can use an eraser to clean the surface of the coin
GREAT

If you do not remove the dirt or grim off and you seek out a coin collection person how would you know what you have, that individual could take advantage of what you have because of a date on the coin that you cannot read.
Valószínű, hogy értéktelen értmékről van szó .Az ilyen tisztítástól értéktelen lesz.

Why do collectors want rusty, dirty coins instead of clean, well preserved ones? Someone answer me, please. I do not understand.
This is because rusty coins are almost undamaged, but if they are washed, they will be damaged and their value will drop.
Great cleaning. The secret of successful cleaning is to know when to stop!
Most coin collectors dont want the rust, or dirt, they just have to accepted it because if they dont know what they are doing then they will devalue to coin so they tell everyone to never clean the coins, most collectors want coins in their natural condition, if the coins are copper, turn to a nice brown, called patina, unless the coins have very little use, and are in uncirculated condition called mint state then it stays that beautiful shiny copper red color; now sometimes these old copper coins get dirty with time and use, and they grow stuff on them like you see in the video, sometimes that green stuff is Pvc damage which is from putting your coins in cheap pvc 2x2 plastic flips, the pvc leaches from the plastic flip to your coin creating this green slim on the surface of the coin which will damage your coin over time if not removed, then sometimes coins; mostly copper get verdigris, a find green powder on the surface which you can remover easily with certain solution, I like to use "coincare" and the most dreadful condition a copper coin can get is called "Bronze Disease" that stuff is hard, green and nasty and will never come off easily without a fight, if not removed it will eat your coin to nothing and it will spread to your other coins like a cancer, in the end you have to take drastic measures to remove it, you will remove the patina off the coin but you save the coin for future collectors to find and collect. The rule of thumb is the value is in the patina, and some dirt is acceptable, but you never want to clean a coin with any abrasive creams or sand paper, or a metal wire brush, or even polish it to a mirror, this will destroy the value but upward of 50%-98%. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions you can email me and I'll see if I can help.

O tipo de restauração q vc fez nao danificou nada das moedas. Elas vao se manter conservadas. Parabéns!

Pls can u tell me about RAKUEN COIN

Are any of these coins rare?
No. These coins are not collectible
Exactly, how much money. Are those coins worth in today’s dollars?
They're only worth the metal they're made out of after they're cleaned. Please don't clean coins...ever!
That depends on the condition of the coins after the cleaning; before the cleaning not very much, now after the clean he added some value back to them, now that big one with the double headed eagle in the middle, thats an Austrian 1807S 30 Kreutzer, I would give it a grade of fine to very fine, but in the condition that it was, it will most likely be melted down for the copper content, now after the cleaning he did, the value of the coin in my professional opinion is worth between $3-$7 dollars American in retail, and if I were buying it I will offer $1.50-$3.50.
Some of Logo have been gone from the coin

You only need some tooth brush and some dishies soap and ash
Does this devalue the coins 🤔
Probs, but value is only in the eye of the holder. To my wife, they should be melted down
You could leave it as it is, but then they would continue to corrode
Using a brush harshly as they were in the first couple mins drops the value of just about any coin to only the metal it's made from. Only if a coin was very rare would it retain any collectible value and it would be worth a tiny fraction of what it would've been if it was left corroded.
