    Оцет розбавлений водою на декілька днів і головне інколи перекидати. Перевірено особисто 👌

      Сподіваюся, переклад буде правильним - я не дуже люблю використовувати оцет, він дуже сильно псує поверхню монети.

      @@Rusty_Artifacts_Restoration дуже слабкий розчин оцет і вода, вода с часом зеленішає. Зубочисткою зчищати накип на монетах. Фаустіна, Траян ,Антоніна Пій .... мої особисті знахідки доведені до майже як нові👌

    My favorite part was when they used a toothpick with "mud" on it to add dirt back onto the coin, then wiped it off with a muddy q-tip.

    Deze oude muntenverzamelaar heeft deze les erg gewaardeerd. Ik heb echter 1 vraag voor u; de " etching gel" is deze veilig te gebruiken op alle munten? Of zijn er legeringen die kunnen worden aangetast? Vriendelijke groet, peter

      Denne ætsende gel kan kun bruges til sølvmønter. Og ikke på hele mønten, men kun der, hvor der er oxidation.

      Yes, baking soda is needed to neutralize the effect of the acid.

      For cleaning, I use a dental ultrasonic scaler - Woodpecker UDS-L LED.

      And how would you recommend cleaning this coin? Taking into account the fact that it was after exposure to fire and with strong oxidation.

      @@Rusty_Artifacts_Restoration Soak in distilled water for a week changing the water every day, Then use tree thorns to scrape away any crust from the coin, When finished put Renaissance wax polish on it.

    I thought coins were to be cleaned without removing the patina?

      You can re-patina chemically coins, metal work artists do it.

      I am not saying it is a baseless claim because GENERALLY . . . "cleaning" in the realm of numismatics is like a tornado - can destroy most of the value of what it hits.

      That said, there are rare exceptions. Very rare though.

      @@2Truth4Liberty Most of what are in superior collections, museums etc ARE cleaned it ls called, restoration, conservation! It requires expertise, knowledge which most 'collectors' are clueless about and only repeat the mantras' they have heard.

      Electrolysis is not the best method for cleaning silver coins. Please note that this coin has been through a fire and is heavily oxidized. Therefore, the cleaning method I chose has cleaned the coin quite well.

    Привет! Как по мне это перебор, очень много кислоты и монета потеряла свою аутентичность. Результат был бы лучше если бы подмикоскопом ее почистить карандашом

      This silver coin had significant and strong oxidation after the fire, so I'm not sure if cleaning it under a microscope would yield a good result.

    Too difficult. Silver Roman coins must be cleaned with citric acid or electrolysis. If there are deposits of metallic copper on the coin, ferric chloride is used
