In this video I will be opening up some original bank wrapped rolls of 1964P Kennedy Half Dollars.
I will be double checking to see if they are in fact BU 1964 Original Bank Wrapped Half Dollars Rolls or just some rolled up coins. I was surprised at what the rolls contained and pleasantly surprised at a few of the varieties I found!
Back Story: I was fortunate to have popped into a random bank for a box of pennies and asked if they had any half dollars I could purchase. The bank teller said that they had recently had a customer deposit $60 dollars worth and that I was welcome to them. I agreed to purchase them not knowing that they would be solid silver half dollar rolls!

just gotta build a relationship with your bank, my bank texts me anytime someone doesn't pick up their box, drops off a roll of halfs, rolls with an older ender, or loose "weird" coins that includes world coins.
@@David_Quinn_Photography yeah I made good friends with my bank teller she was sweet, I seen that she had 5 1969 Kennedy half dollars and 2 of them were d ment. Bought them face value like always from a bank. And I had this old wraps one time she gave me that she held onto and every penny inside was 1953 and the other one was all 1944 pennies. You're right just make friends with them and tell them you are a numismatist and they'll look for stuff like that

Absolutely. I’d shell out ten bucks a roll for those. Many years ago I bought multiple mint sheets of the summer olympics. When we boycotted, the USPS removed them from sale . GREAT! the prices that dealers were offering was 100 times face value. Then the postal authorities came up with a policy out of nowhere. They rereleased the stamps. They said they didn’t want to encourage speculation. Huh? That’s the WHOLE point of philatelic sales.

Everyone please tell your family you collect silver. This has been happening a lot with what's going on in the world lately. Mostly 40% Someone collected these, and whichever family member that found them had no idea they were silver. Mostly customer wrapped, unmarked rolls.

Hello from Russia. beautiful silver coins of the USA, I'm surprised how many of them there are and all in their native rolls. with a usb microscope, it is convenient to look at the mint and varieties, I collect very few American coins, mostly ordinary copper-nickel ones, but you look at these and think, why don't I have them? probably because there are a lot of coins of the USSR and the empire. good luck to you and come visit
Yeah this is beyond rare some people on youtube bought 5 $500 boxes and didn't get one silver half dollar still beats playing the lottery can't really lose money.

I won a OBW of 1963 D Lincoln cents in an auction. I never find varieties, but this roll had 9 3 over 3 DDOs in it. And they are in BU shape.

Really cool finds, Rob. I too found some OBW 64-69 rolls from the bank. Wraps were very fragile so I tubed all the coins without searching them. That will be done at some time later. It's so exciting when you find these.

I used to work in a casino as a black jack dealer. I’ve been collecting dollar silver and half dollar silver coins. Always love how they look. So I hang on to it
Ok. You have inspired me to open my roll of 1964's that I bought back in 98. They are in a plastic sleeve with a certificate of uncirculated authenticity. They are in my safe and I have never opened it. Who knows. Maybe I'll find something. Thanks Rob
Do it man , you won't regret not and nobody will ever know you opened it once if you ever decide to sell the tube ,.right now apmex is selling full 20 coin rolls of 1964 90% kemmadys all in BU condition for only $264 per 20 coin roll which is a hell of a good buy , at least in my opinion especially considering they are my favorite junk silver coin

i dont even really have much of an interest in coin collecting (dont really have a collection, just random jars/bags of coins emptied from pockets over the years), not even sure how i found these videos, but i keep watching more. something very fascinating about watching something that is relatively simple in just opening coin rolls or sorting through bags of random silver pieces. probably just the genuine excitement and interest that is very clear from Rob. and now it makes me want to go sort through all my old coin jars to see if anything interesting is in there.
whod have thought even 30 years ago people would sit around a computer watching other people sort through coins, people they dont know, probably will never meet, but will spend hours watching them simply do something they love to do.

I want to get better at grading my coins and hunting out the DDO's and DDR's. I bought a scope which is cool but I think I would like to take a class in grading coins. I collect for spot, that looks like a lot of fun. Good video, thanks for sharing.

Do you go to particular banks to look for old rolls? Whenever I ask my bank they rarely have rolls of quarters or dimes right now. I didn't know if maybe you found more old rolls at local banks or something like that.

Not particularly but I always ask if they had anything odd or strange come in that I can buy and I always ask for their half dollars and Big Dollar coins.
