    Just a heads up - I recently ran x5 Wireless Go's and got frequent drop-outs during recording. Spoke with Rode and it seems if the receivers are placed within 5cm of each other the 2.4GHz wireless signals can interfere with each other. Bit of a problem as the provided cables are all very short, so my advice for anyone attempting this would be to get longer cables and place the receivers a fair distance apart!

      If I get what you're saying, it means that if one must place them over 5cm apart, the setup in this video becomes unusable which is a shame because it looks really cool hooking them on to that metal mount.

    This wont work well as, wireless go receivers have an antenna side that need to aim towards the transmitters to get a good signal. Plus they can jam each others signal as this video not shown test of actual use just a setup. And another issue with receivers on the back of the Zoom, we tested this on filmset the zoom have something odd going on that also interfere with rode wireless go place too close to the zoom battery compartment.

    • @nextlevelcraig
      @nextlevelcraig  3 года назад +2

      I haven't had any problems yet but I have only used it twice. You are the second person to mention that if they are too close there will be problems. Maybe I will change the setup to space them out more. I always have them facing the transmitters, so that isn't an issue but maybe I can get them away from each other and off of the battery compartment. Thank you for your information!

    I'm going to use this setup for at least one lav mic whilst filming run and gun, I'll see if multiple affect the signal and if so you could try removing the cheese play and creating a little more distance between the receivers, although the cheese plate is a dope idea so I hope it doesn't come to that. Great video and keep it up, your channel will grow with this great stuff.

    posted this on the last video but here is for newer people; I've found that when i connect my wireless GOs to my zoon
    h4n pro and it gets too close to the body of the recorder, there is
    interference between the transmitter and the reciever caused by the zoom
    recorder. also I don't use XLR to jack adapters I found that a Big jack
    to small Jack works great. I didn't know it accepted that at first but
    on the zoom h4n, and other zoom recorder models (including the H5, H6
    and H8) here is a hole in the middle of the xlr slot that the big jack
    fits right into.

    I know this footage was filmed 2 years ago, but have you considered rotating the cheese plate 180 degrees so the Zoom H6 faces upright instead of being upside down? This would make reading the screen / meters much easier. What about using something like a Manfrotto Pixi Mini Tripod wth a ball head, that way you can tilt the H6 at a suitable viewing angle, instead of being at right angles to the desktop?
    Ps, would your setup be different if you had 2x Wireless Go2’s instead of the 4 x single wireless go?

    a little late, but why not just use the 1/4 jacks? rode>3.5mm stereo cable>3.5mm female TRS to two 1/4" TS plugs adapter>H6 XLR/1/4"TS jack. TS1/4 should not pass phantom power, but who know s with Zoom, so thurn it off anyway.

    Hi Craig, thx for sharing...for a dialogue scene, 2 shot or maybe 3 shot scene, how would you lav or boom the actors please? thx

    • @nextlevelcraig
      @nextlevelcraig  3 года назад

      I would lav them all up as well as try to boom then if possible. That’s because I am paranoid that one of them might not work or something. I always try to double up studio if I can.

      Rode has a splitter cable that could help you, actually any splitter would work.

    Hello, i would like to connect more than 4 Rode Wireless Go 2
    microphones on an audio recorder: is this combination is possible?
    having for example 3 sets of Wireless Go 2 (1 receiver + 2 transmitters)
    so 6 microphones in total + 3 XLRs + 1 Zoom audio recorder? Do you
    think it's possible?

    Loved your video, question? Will the antennas on the Rode receivers will
    it cause any interference, if I use four receivers on the same plat…
    Something that’s interesting also, I know a brother like yourself,
    you both have the same last name spelling and both are in the same profession.
    Again thanks.
