This is something I need! I’ve been bringing my laptop and using my DAW…it’s kind of a pain!
Really enjoyed us jamming together!
It was very lovely to see this collab as I frequently refer to both of your videos and content
You're right, no comparison between the camera microphone and the Zoom H6. A step above in audio recording
Camera mic sounds better than I thought it would.
Lol I thought the same thing when I went trough the footage. What’s up man 👨
You and Jason need to collab
I gotta say, I came here for info on the Zoom recorder, but what I really loved even more, was that jamming from your show! I want more of that!!
you're basically feeding our fellow musicians the secret recipe for a quality sound on a live setting. I learned some pointers in this video. sadly, these stuffs are boring to the people. they just wanna see short clips of people lip syncing a song in filtered video. keep it up Andres! this video you've made deserves more than 8000 views. 🤟
Finally a video that shows detailed views and description of the routings and config for 4CH. Thank you!
You just saved me a couple hundred dollars by opting for this exact setup that I need! Thanks a lot 🙌
Glad I could help
Super awesome video! Its definitely worth the effort, thank you for sharing! Great watch!
So well done! I have done a similar thing using a Behringer XAir 18 to my laptop to get great audio for recording of live performances with as many as 16 separate tracks. The H6 fits perfectly into what you are doing. Finding the smallest and most perfect setup for a live nightly performance is akin to the search for the Holy Grail, and certainly seem to have found it!
Very complex, but you made it fun to listen to and makes me want to learn more. Thanks
Mad helpful video btw! Keep on keeping on man, you're awesome
Love this information! I'm looking at getting one for adding to the kit when I film wrestling shows, get the audio from the ring announcer, commentator, and the entrance separate to the action.
Super helpful. I just bought a Zoom F3 because I only need two inputs and wanted 32-bit float. I’m going to try splitting the signal from the dynamic Shure mic.
A lot goes into the production process to end up with the excellent shows you do. I'm sure not only your audience appreciate it, but we do too. :)
Interesting and fun video. Well done and well mixed. Music is great!
This is really cool and helpful. Though I wish there were more videos about recording audio as an audience member rather than just as a band member haha
I also like to get the board mix plus add a couple of audience mics in xy center stage to get the ambient sound field.
so this is perfectly useful when you are playing in a unknown venue where the guys working the sound there won't be so nice to directly record your show
Good video, as a video guy I want to get better at audio. This seems like the next logical step. Cheers
Love these kind of videos! And your live performances as well! Just curious, I noticed in some live performances you have a device (phone or tablet), that appears to have lyrics on it? Just curious which device you use and if there is an app that you use as well. Does it only do lyrics, or can you have chord progressions, etc. for songs you're not familiar with? Thanks!
Nice post dude this is very helpful
Amazing bro, thanks for sharing!
Thank you ! I have an adventure channel ....We are trying to help a young lady out who works for us that can sing really good....NOW I got an idea on where to start to capture the live music! I will hit the thanks button!
Best audio production tutorial!!
super helpful thank you dearly
THIS WAS A GOOD VIDEO, AND I KNOW YOU LEARNED A LOT FROM HAVING NO BACKUP RECORDING- IT ONLY TAKES ONE TIME TO NOT USE SOMETHING LIKE THE ZOOM H6, AND YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT.
I record a lot of concerts. I record from the mixer and I use a separate recorder with a mic on the leading edge which records the audience and toe tapping and other instruments which are not necessarily going through the mixer. I also have shotguns on all my cameras, usually 3 sometimes 4.
Super interesting! Thanks for sharing. I would love to learn more! Like… do you blend all recordings (mixer, ambient mic, and the shotgun mics) and if so, how do you blend them all? Thanks!
dude you're a beast this is dope.
Thanks Andres! Question, coming out of the mixer with xlrs, would I need attenuators to go into a Zoom recorder?
Great video! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
How did you capture the other guitarists sound?
Did he have his own recorder?
Hey man, great video, is there any reason why you cannot just connect the rc505 directly to the Zoom 6. and also connect your guitar into the rc505 for looping and use a split cable to go directly into the zoom 6 simultaneously. The rc505 also does fx. Thanks
im going from an H5 to an H6 essential and id like to know if you think this would be a good option and really the best way to connect it to the main board at a bigger show. but also sometimes the sound guys are asses and they dont let me do it at all. i assume not many people really know how one of those would do in a setting like that but i feel like its gonna make capturing audio way easier not worrying about levels
Puedes aser el mismo tutorial pero en español porfavor
Thank you so much ❤
Thanks!
Nice, I fortunately have the H6 😊
Good stuff man …been following Jason for a while now …I live in Bradenton and also have a band and we are out of Sarasota…so will try and make it too a one of your shows where can I find a live show schedule ? If I had known all were playing together I would have been there…
How do i use this when recording out band play in rehearsles? Mixer? Interface to macbook? Im so confused
Great video...quick question...I use 3 channels on my mixer with line ins all using quarter inch plugs...is it not easier to connect xlr cables to the same channels (which I have the option also on my mixer) instead of using auxiliary sends and XLR splitters? Thank you.
Does this have send return capabilities, So one can connect a guitar pedal , And record the performance ? Thanks
great video
Could you do a tutorial of the connection if you’re using a backing track and want to record this pristine vocal to edit later pls 😭
Hey there, I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. So you have a separate line for your mic but your guitar and all your loops are on the same line? So technically just two tracks to mix in logic? ( Or whatever DAW you use) then an external wireless mic
Are you going to upgrade to the 505 mk2 for the better audioquality?
if you have the out routed to the in of the H6 then how are you routing anything through the monitors at your shows to get sound ?
How do you record the drums and the other guitarist for example? 🙂
For recording a dj set best thing to do is XLR to rca splitter? 6.3 jack to rca? Or what should I do?
how would I go about recording separate tracks for each microphone if the mixer only as 1 MAIN OUT L & R?
For a podcast, which could give me better sound quality ZOOM H6 or interface type focustire or volt 2?
I might have missed it but is that a bose mixer?
I don’t have a computer therefor I don’t have recording software. Can I download the audio from the handheld to either my phone or iPad?
what i want to do is plug rc 300 into zoom h6 directly! what am i losing interms of quality and if i grab the mixer you have, why did you choose that one? thanks for the time
Can i mix on Cubase? Or just logic
Good morning, Andres!
Morning!
I am currently using the Zoom h2n to record demos of me singing and playing guitar along with karaoke tracks. I am recording 100 demos of songs I wrote. When it is time to get radio ready versions of the best songs I have, what do I do?
Does this model allow for active line monitoring? I am becoming annoyed at people who mistake line monitoring for playback/review. Not the same!
Good info but dang man you gotta eq that thing. woof
6:31 WHAT IS THE SONG? sounds soo nice!
What if i want to record a handpan
Thanks! What do I buy to plug my DJI mics into the unit/ What connection ?
Thanks so much for the super. It’s called Rode VXLR plus. Here’s a link amzn.to/3T15JaZ
4:26 Do you bring the audio up or down on the fly via the H6 or post recording?
I believe he tries to get the correct levels during the first song. then leave it and adjust in post as long as your levels aren't presenting above -12db you'll be good. If you get a Zoom 32 bit float recorder you'll have less worries but the H6 works great
How do you make sure your sound is heard by the audience? I understand the sound le going IN the zoom h6. But what goes OUT to the speakers in the room?
I don’t have a mixer. Can you use the zoom h6 as a mixer to go to the Speakers in the room? What output do you use?
The set up he is describing is for audio recoding for use later in post editing, the sound the audience hears is the normal set up a band would use from their mixer to the speakers. Hope that helps a bit
I’m asking myself the same thing, Rheinhardt Buhr does it as well like this and he said in one video that the sound goes into the Zoom and from the Zoom out to the speaker. It would be a big thing for me to find out.
Hey but how do you get then the sound out of the Zoom H6 to the speaker ?
The zoom has a line out and a headphones out. Either one can be plugged into a speaker but in my case, I connect everything to the mixer and from mixer to speaker. My pedalboard however comes out of my mixer using the “aux send out “so it can then go to the h6 to get recorded. Since my mixer doesn’t have enough aux send out ports, I have to split the mix signal into two with an xlr splitter cable so I can also take that signal into the h6 and get recorded on a separate channel. Hope that helps
👍👍👍👍
Es durisimo tocar y tener que grabarte jajajaja por eso pasan las cosas que nos pasan a todos. Que se nos olvida grabar

Help. I'm old
Brzydkie brzmienie, less sound.
