Oh I love the tip with activator to melt the chunky glitters. I also wait a few seconds and use a silicone finger thimble (that I purchased at the $ store!) to press down the glitters. It really works! I also love this “how to” series and I love that you included how to fix the “don’t”
You must be a mind reader because I was so close to including my little silicone finger cover!! It’s so handy and cute! 🙌🏼 And thank you for watching and the feedback! So happy to hear I’m on the right track 🥳🥰
the tapping your finger into the jar before tapping down the glitters really just changed the game!! i was going barehand before and would get frustated to end up with more glitter on my hands than on the nails HA! thank youuu!
Excellent. YOu were able to get a really smooth application. I was surprised at how forgiving your first top coat was after the activator. You were able to get a lot of contact without the brush hardening. I always wipe my brush, too, however, sometimes I can tell my brush doesn't like it.
Thank you for this. I just received ten bottles of different colors of chunky glitter, but only the glitter. I have to mix it with powder, now I know how to apply it!
Hi Chelsea! This video was really helpful...I'm horrible at chunky glitter applications!!! I can't wait to try this method out and see if I get any better!! Thanks!!
I love those files for chunky glitter. It's like melting butter. I'm so glad you shared ManiBoss' clear. I haven't used it yet, but I hate it when my beautiful glitters get cloudy!
Thank you so much for the great tips...this is awesome!!! Ive also seen where you take the dip base and go over the glitter before clear and that.also fills in those spaces so that when you dip in clear, its an even application
I can’t express how needed this series is!! So thank you for sharing all your knowledge and tips & tricks!! PS….I’ve also heard that people will use BG to encapsulate and then file on that. After achieving the shape they want, they will apply top coat I believe. Have you tried this before?
Ahh yayyy ! This is the best feedback and you have made my day! Thank you!! I have definitely heard of this! You could also do a layer of dip powder base liquid, or even a gel base/top coat too! 🙌🏼 I wish I could share all of those options but I’m afraid I am going to make it overly complicated or confuse people 😆 maybe I’ll do a gel liquids version 🤔 you’ve got my gears turning now lol!
Another problem i run into is the glitters flying away when i brush off the excess :( is my base the problem or is there a way to keep that from happening? Thanks in advance!
Maybe your liquid is really fast drying so it's drying before the powder even goes on and dries together? I'd suggest switching your base. But if you wanna give the liquid another chance, maybe put on a thicker coat before applying the glitter
How do you make sure that extra powder doesn't get stuck to the brushes? I brush off my nails and have even tried wiping with my finger or a lint free wipe, but there's always still a bit of powder that gets stuck in the brush when I do the next coat.
That can be super frustrating! To prevent this, I would suggest trying a stiffer scrub brush if you haven’t already 💓 then after the base liquid touches the nail, immediately wipe it off on a dry napkin front and back multiple times. I hope this helps!
At 2:49 in this video you show how to do a pour over. I am new to Dip Powder and really enjoy your videos. Can you share where you purchased the holder for the pour over? Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching and welcome to our little dip community! So that is just a cupcake liner from the grocery store 🙌🏼💗 I love to use them because I can just toss them out after each use. Happy dipping!
You would cringe if you saw some of my chunky swatch sticks LMAO. What do you do if it is large hex pieces in a clear base? I struggle as the first pour-over is little to no pieces because they are all huge and then, when I lay in on the 2nd coat, is gross.
🤣🤣🤣 girl I have totally been there! I most definitely am not a perfect swatcher and sometimes loathe doing it 😅 So what about for your first layer, you pour over and then hand place some before doing your second?? And then for second maybe pour over again and hand place?? That way you have more control over placement!

I added activator to a dropper bottle. So much easier to add activator to my chunky glitters to make them lay flat than trying to brush or dot it on.
That’s brilliant! Thanks for sharing! 🥳

I’ve actually never tried anything from their brand 🤯 but I have heard really great things though!
Soooooo pretty!!!
Thank you!! 💜💙

@@SipAndDip I am not referring to the cupcake liner. I'm referring to the clear plastic that has the clear nail on it. Sorry for the confusion.
Just working through all your videos…😝
i did my chunky nail but when i apply the top coat it becomes opaque not in all nail, just in some🥺what am i doing wrong ?? 😢
So sorry to hear that! 🥺🫶🏻 just so I’m understanding, your dip powder liquid top coat is matte/cloudy in some spots on the nail?
@@SipAndDip one hand is glossy pretty looking and the other hand is cloudy and i did the same process in both.
