Never done dip nails before. Thanks for keeping it real Suzie and not trying to make it rocket science. It’s less intimidating now. You’re a great teacher.
I love your conversational style. Really down to earth and friendly :) Also how simple and clear you are. I'm a bit fed up of the gimmicky advertising/ influencer style videos - this is a breath of fresh air. Thankyou 😊
This is the second video of hers I've seen and I honestly love how she explains things! Instead of just saying what to do she actually tells you why you do those things, I love it!
If you want a higher shine with your top coat: allow the seal and protect to set longer, then wash your hands with a non moisturizing soap (I use Dawn). After your nails are completely dry, add two layers of top coat.
I have learned so much watching you, Suzie. I constantly receive compliments on my nails. My mother always said you can tell a lady by her nails. Thank you so much.
They way she calmly goes thru every step is everything! I've been Dipping for 2 years and I always refer to her videos to learn more and I have to say she doesn't overwhelm me and I enjoy the helps!
I've dipped for two and a half years and honestly this video made it come across more daunting than it actually is. Normally I love her videos but I'm smelling a hint of click bait with this one.
I was always so used to washing my hands before getting my nails painted when I had acrylic nails that it reeeeeeally threw me off that my nail person just dusted me off before dipping my color and didn’t send me to wash my hands! Now I know why! I never asked, just trusted the professional and their process! So THANK YOU!
I'm glad you shared how to do dip powder nails quicker or rather how to skip some steps and still have beautiful results. Your natural nail by the way look so healthy. And I love the colors you chose and the results. ❤
What I do is file it down as much as I can; I like doing an e-file to take off as much bulk as I can then use a hand file. I also clip off the tip to make it faster, since I use tips on my nails. I don’t have the right bits to take it down to my natural nail or to a really thin layer. After that, I soak cotton pads in acetone and wrap them in foil. I let those sit for as long as I can and check it periodically. I usually wait until the acetone has melted it down to the smallest little lump on my nail then wipe it off with another acetone soaked pad. Wash, moisturize, go about my day. It’s about ~20 minutes so I do it on my day off lol
Get a bowl with hot water, put a bag of sorts inside the bowl, pour acetone in the bag, and let your fingers soak and it comes off in about ten minutes, it help if u put a paper towel in the acetone and rub your nails every other minute. So the water is at the bottom of the bowl and the bag separate the acetone....
I was asking because in the beginning she shows her natural nail and stresses how important the removal method is, so I would like to see how she does it. I don't have time for peel base, they don't last long enough.
Licensed tech here, I specialize in dip manicures and I make my own line. I like to do two top coats, super thin making sure the first layer is completely dry before applying my second coat. Makes them shiny like a gel polish. I only use kiara sky for my liquids
I don’t know why, but when I am stressed out, or can’t sleep, I always watch Suzie’s videos. Her voice is so calming and I love learning from her! Thanks for making amazing videos!!
She is such a great teacher. I don’t do dip powders or anything other than gel nail polish but I watch all of her videos anyway. She makes it so interesting and she’s so dang good at it!
This was the best video ever! I tried doing them for the second time today and they look like I went to the salon. I’m so glad I came across this video.
WOW, thank you, Suzie! I have 3 formal silver small salt and pepper dishes, therefore, I have 6 TINY spoons that come with them. I followed your exact method and used the tiny spoon to grasp the powder instead of dipping my fingers in. You’ve simplified the process! THANKS AGAIN!
I just got some Kia Sky and I’m loving it so much more than having regular acrylic nails. It doesn’t seem as heavy. I understand how it works now, thanks.
Thank you for this video. I love watching you because you are very patient and take the time to show. I was struggling with dip, but I’m going to try this way now.
I applied my Nailboo product using your tips and they came out beautiful the first time! I’m so pleased with the way they turned out. 👏🏽 It took me about an hour to do because I took your advice and did the complete steps on one nail first. My next time should only take me about 45 minutes to do. 🙌🏽 I am so SPRUNG on the dip powder system! Very easy to apply and they came out PERFECT 🤩 Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials! 💋

After getting the dip done at the salon several times I have decided to try it myself. I ordered a kit from Amazon and it is being delivered today. We shall see how it goes.
I love this! been doing dip for about 2 months now and been filing! Going to try not filing and see how it goes! Thank you for educating us "non-professionals"!

Figured if I could do acrylic I could do this. Heavens you make it much simpler than another I watched last night with a bah-zillion filling steps! Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much for this!!!!! This helped me so much 🥺 I got so many colors but was so overwhelmed with all the steps, but now I feel much more confident doing my dip!
I just found your channel. As a licensed cosmetologist, with 20 years experience, I love you. You are a great teacher, with real life experience, who works to NOT destroy the natural nail. You also emphasize sanitation and avoiding cross contamination. Thank you. I saw an instructional video this afternoon from a woman with obviously infected cuticles. The swelling and redness extended at least 1/2 an inch into her finger. I saw another obliterate the natural nail with a drill tip designed only for artificial nails. Bless you for offering your viewers quality instruction.
You are the best girl very simple not complicated. The instructions were clear. You are very good teaching. I saw several videos and they are very confuse. I was going to give up in DIY nail. Thank you. I will follow your Chanel from now on.
I was a fan, until she had the give away and never announced who won! Now I am not so much of a fan, pretty upset, I feel like I was tricked into subscribing. Subscriber=$ on youtube
@@cmayo5659 Actually subscriber != $ on RUclips. Video view count is what generates the revenue. It costs nothing to subscribe, so there is no money in inherently subscribing, you need to get the views in order to get the money. Suzie is one of the LEAST problematic and shady people on this website. In fact I don't even think Suzie is capable of being shady. Sorry you felt duped, but there has to be reason for it, she wouldn't have done that be hurtful or just outright lie. I don't think that is her personality. edit to correct spelling on Suzie. I must have been an idiot and momentarily forgot how to spell Suzie. SMH
@@rschook if it's not shady why no winners? Not capable of being shady? Respectfully, not ever announcing who winners are in a give away is a bit shady. I didn't jump the conclusion, it took over a week for me to come to this reach this conclusion. I made excuses for the delay in announcement. Who won? 5 people were going to win. Why no announcement? Subscribers=views=revenue. As I and others watch videos expecting to hear something about her give away. Earning revenue
@@cmayo5659 You are silly. Subscribers does not automatically equal views. There are tons of channels on RUclips that have millions of subscribers, but only get 50k views. They are not making money. Also, might be nice to ask Suzie, where the contest announcement is, rather than just immediately hating on someone. There could be other circumstances with legal consequences that she might not be able to disclose. There are many things that could happen. Please don't assume that everyone is a terrible person because they didn't announce a silly contest.
@@rschook um, I did ask Suzie. She said she is verifying age. I didn't immediately 'hate' on anyone. I don't care about the tons of other channels on RUclips. Read the comments on her videos. I am not the only person asking about the winners. And I did ask her. She responded too. Why have a give away and never announce winners? I think that's rude. Like I said previously, my time is valuable, I can't and won't support a person who does things like this. The winners were to be announced on the 7. Yes it's a 'silly' give away. The point is that is very rude. Why stick up for her?
I hope you receive this message It's been two years since you made this video. But I have to say I don't leave comments very often but I love the way that you present your videos. There's just something about your demeanor and the tone of your voice and your knowledge that I'm impressed by and I just wanted to say thank you for teaching me how to do dipped nails and I think you're amazing🎉🎉🎉
Awesome video! Pouring the powder on, rather than dipping into jar is a TOTAL GAME CHANGER!!! So fast, so easy, little to no filing! No bulk at the cuticle... PERFECTION!!! You are a nail goddess, Suzi, thank you SO much!!! 🤯👏🥳🙌🤩
The thought of 1 nail at a time used to overwhelm me until I thought about it and if anything it can speed up the process. One con of doing all nails step by step for me is as I would get started it almost never failed that I would confuse myself and over think thus forgetting which step I was on ultimately losing confidence and dragging out the process so I am still getting used to doing one nail at a time however not having nearly as many mishaps thanks to your advice Susie so Thank You, Great video and Lovely nails as always❤
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I love the look and strength I get from dip powder, but I hate how long it takes me to do it. I look forward to giving your tips a try.
My best friend just bought me the Kiara Sky dip system for my birthday last month. She swears by dip powders but I had a terrible experience getting the professionally done once before. She's been trying to get me to try doing them myself for so long but I'm typically a gel wearer and lover. But since trying it myself twice since receiving this kit, the whole dip powder world has intrigued me. So this video came at just the right time!
Thank you so much for doing this Suzie! I’m experimenting with dip nails because I don’t have the dexterity to do acrylic on both my hands 😅. Also I’ve been watching your videos on how to remove these products properly and it makes a huge difference. Love this channel and adore you! 💕
Thank goodness for you! I have weak nails and do not want expensive acrylics and can't do them myself. Poly gel seems to just fall off immediately so I thought ok let try dip nails. I don't want them long just my natural nails. This was the best video
Great video as always, Suzie! Also, happy brain aneurysm awareness month! This November will be my 5 year survival date / aneurversary. Sending love ♥️
This video SAVED me when I got my dip system. As I was working on my nails (not a professional, total newbie) I could see how it could have gone wrong without your advice.
I didn’t know about the soap thing until I had my nails done a few months ago. She just had me rinse my hands. I had NO IDEA!! How things have changed over the years.
@Lairde Scotte oh my now we know water + nails = disaster... no more of those Palmolive commercial "she's soaking in it" 🤣 Heck if I wash my hands I wait awhile before I do them , then I clean with nail cleaner because I KNOW mine soak up the water... i always use cuticle oil over n under nails when going to be in water say washing hair. Or gloves go on.💜💖💜
Just paid $45 plus tip yesterday to have this done. The lady was so sweet but my nails 😭 I've been doing my own nails since I was 15. I enjoy the pampering but after yesterday, I'll be doing my own again. Thank you for this video!
This was brilliant, i've never had acrylics etc done and i'm keen to do my nails myself at home, so this method is super helpful 😃 I'm going to buy the nail powders etc and start right away 💅👌
I just came across this video and I am a DIY home nail dipper. I spent a lot of time filing and filing and used your method in this video and my nails are perfect. Thank you so much!
I’ve been dipping since last November and honestly haven’t tried pouring the powder over yet for a full mani! I’m interested to try it out this next time!
You're such an inspiration for small creators like myself. Your videos are always so well made, so informative and always on point! I admire you a lot! Thanks for keep posting for us !!!
I started dipping my nails at home since April. Love that you use Kiara sky. That’s my favorite line. I adore your accent, its beautiful and I love how you teach and show your processes. I’m always looking forward for your videos.
Thank you for this video! I did dip for the first time yesterday and it was bulky. I soaked it off and went in search of a video to help do a better job. Your video is perfect! My nails are short right now so I didn’t need to do the building of the apex and all of that. Glad to know I can in fact skip that step.
This is ok, but Susie is a 30 year nail veteran. If I were you I would watch the full length videos as well. I’ve been using Kiara sky dip system for months and am still working out the kinks. Especially when it comes to the “glue” aspect of the base and top coats. They can give you a lot of trouble.
I tried the pouring instead of dipping, on one hand to see the difference. I do think it helps though its a bit messy! But the best tip is the alcohol wipe at the end, it really makes the top coat shine!!
LADY!! You are the best. Alright I have a question that I CANNOT for the life of me find any advice online for. My nails are pretty brittle (ridges, peeling, easy breakage), but i have been using nail oil religiously for the last 6-8 months and the improvement has been INCREDIBLE! Most ridges have disappeared, no more hangnails or dryness in skin surrounding the nails, no more peeling, and much less breakage. (I use bliss kiss in case anyone is wondering. Can't say enough good things about this nail oil). I love using dip powders so much because of how long it lasts, how thick and strong it makes my nails, and all the other reasons there are to love dipping. BUT - I am nervous about using acetone to dehydrate my nail, and buffing my nail, because of how brittle my nails have previously been. If I don't do those steps, I understand I'll probably have issues with lifting... do you have any advice? Will my nails be okay if I dehydrate them for application? And probably my biggest question - after applying dip powder, should I no longer apply my nail oil in case the oil seeps underneath and makes it lift? Hmm... how do I use dip powder while keeping my nails hydrated? THANKS!!!!
The instructions that came with mine says if you want shiny nails you need to buff before too coat which is why I was. But I can’t wait to try it your way.
I love and do nails myself , but I appreciate that I can always learn something from you 😇 You are so comforting and just wonderful. A true sunflower 🌻 so much love in your presence and spirit I know that cause I’m a nice person too!!
Absolutely its better because of what she just said. The pressure of pushing your fingers into the powder moves it around sometimes. I want to know where to find the little scoops she is using
Thank you so much! I just started dip nails. I am a massage therapist, so I have to have short nails, normally or use tips, for events! I never thought that I could have beautiful nails like this, that stayed longer than a day! It’s so exciting and I feel so much more beautiful! I do them every two weeks and I it takes a long time! These tips help so much! I can’t wait to try more of the pour method!
This is excellent!!!! All that filing after dipping the finger in the powder I've seeing another videos appear to be daunting to me but this method is far more simpler and even probably more efficient for those that don't feel like drilling a whole lot it still want very good results. Thank you so much for this!
Is it possible to get captions or a summary of some of these videos? I can't always watch with sound and I think it would help some others for accessibility issues! I love your stuff though!
Omg, I am in love with your videos! I’m paying 45+tip every 3 weeks and sometimes I feel I could do a better job than my tech. Thank you so much for making this simple.
The pandemic was a blessing in disguise for me as far as getting my nails done at a salon. I have not been back to one for a manicure since then and only go for an occasional pedicure. I now do my own dip powder and am having so much fun doing it. If I decide to go back when the economy is better and the cost of living isn’t as high as right now, I will try to find a salon that may cost a little extra than my previous salon/s but care about the condition and health of the clients nails too. Not once did any of my previous salons put oil on my cuticles or advise me how to care for my nails in between manis. I’ve learned a lot since becoming a DYI-er!
The gel base coat is the easiest ways & fast . I been doing it in the past 3yrs & love it ,just pour don’t dip . Tips : buy yourself a tiny scoop so won’t waste products and avoid cross contamination .
When removing always thin down with your efile and soak in 100% acetone or wrap each fingers but don’t forget to break the zeal to make it faster . It’s only take about 10minutes
If you dip your nails into a small bowl of acetone, put the acetone bowl in another bigger bowl with very hot water. The hot water reduces the waiting time by 30%
When I do dip nails I use regular acrylic powder with gel base coat for the structure, gel polish for color (if any) followed by a layer of acrylic and then gel top coat and curing with led lamp between each layer. I don't like the liquids that come with dip kits.
Bit confused. Step1. Dip basecoat. 2. Acrylic powder as dip. 3. Then what on Acrylic powder? Gel polish color? 4. Then which Acrylic ? 5. Then Gel Top Coat? Please help & clarify steps. Thank you
I just started doing dip recently ( I know late to the party lol ) I have been a Gel user. But im glad to know I have been doing it this way just buy guessing and having self taught nail knowledge.
Im a dude, and i dont wear nails, but i love these videos for some reason. I really appreciate the artistry that goes with this work.

Thank you sweetie

This is the second video of hers I've seen and I honestly love how she explains things! Instead of just saying what to do she actually tells you why you do those things, I love it!
Just tried the “pour” method today and what a game changer! Less bulky, looks more natural, and almost zero filing/buffing at the end.
I just this system, over a recycler so that way it prevents contamination in my full size product and ensures I don’t spill. I love it!
Yaasssssss!!!!!

How do I do it ?
@@crystald.thomas4636 Scoop it up with something and pour it over your nail after you put the base coat on.

Awwww thank you - thank you appreciating what I’m doing . ❤️
Your videos have helped me fall asleep for years now, I just want to thank you for being the best ever
You are the best girl very simple not complicated. The instructions were clear. You are very good teaching. I saw several videos and they are very confuse. I was going to give up in DIY nail. Thank you. I will follow your Chanel from now on.
This is the best nail channel ever. I'm glad I clicked on this channel. I've learned so much from her videos. ❤
For a new person to dip.. this is the best video I’ve found and I’ve watched a lot😳
Is it just me, or is her voice so SOOTHING
You are such a good teacher. You have a calming voice and you are patient. What is preferred color method regular polish, gel or powder and why?
Nail polish or Gel Polish
Not a fan of dip because it’s not a smooth as the other two
Wow! That was a really great presentation. I felt like I was learning from my best friend with a mama vibe. Thanks so much!!!
You made doing dip nails for the beginner look so easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you for breaking down your steps, and making us ladies who are new to the dip nail world feel like we could do this on ourselves!👍👏👏
I used this technique on me , cause like u I don’t much patience to do my right hands lol
Good for you!!! I just lost my dear friend to a brain aneurysm. So glad you survived it!!! Good for you!!!
Oh yes!! I always use alcohol or nail cleanser after clean hands...removes oils💜💖💜
@Lairde Scotte oh my now we know water + nails = disaster... no more of those Palmolive commercial "she's soaking in it" 🤣
Heck if I wash my hands I wait awhile before I do them , then I clean with nail cleaner because I KNOW mine soak up the water... i always use cuticle oil over n under nails when going to be in water say washing hair.

You are a life saver. I tried dip nails at home for the first time yesterday and it was a disaster! Love your energy, you are the best ♥️
You're such an inspiration for small creators like myself. Your videos are always so well made, so informative and always on point! I admire you a lot! Thanks for keep posting for us !!!
I love how you explain what each item does... why we do it.. thanks. So easy to understand and youʻre a wonderful teacher....
Suzie’s dip nails always come out so beautiful.. Whenever I use it on my nails they always turn out looking thick
Youre just applying it too thick thats all
@@NailCareerEducation aww, thank you for the reply! ill try making it thinner the next time i do it then.
wow that purple really surprised me! Didnt know how it was going to turn out. So pretty
I dip my nails at home and its amazing it helps my nails grow
I started dipping my nails at home since April. Love that you use Kiara sky. That’s my favorite line. I adore your accent, its beautiful and I love how you teach and show your processes. I’m always looking forward for your videos.
I get my top coat from triple vitamin and it’s INCREDIBLE! It stays shiny until it’s time to take it off 😊

Suzie simplemente es la mejor! Excelente educadora.
Suzie. Love you and your videos soo much. You are helping me through quarantine with pretty nails and relaxing and informative videos. Bless you!
Thank you for this video! I did dip for the first time yesterday and it was bulky. I soaked it off and went in search of a video to help do a better job. Your video is perfect! My nails are short right now so I didn’t need to do the building of the apex and all of that. Glad to know I can in fact skip that step.
Thank you Suzy
I have a dipping system just need to learn how to use it.
Your voice is soooo calming i love it!💕
Also very reassuring. Like “you’ve got this! don’t worry!”
Carol Joy Colegrove yes!
@@CarolJoyable Also, love the "no rush" and she kept reminding us that there was no rush. It was very calming and like... "Girl, you got this..."
rschook Yes! Very motherly and warm. I love her demeanor!
I'm new to dipping powders and I can honestly say, skipping the extra steps is far far better. Thank You!
Love this!!! Don’t know why the orange powder reminded me of Tang!!
Who else thinks the pouring method is a great way for dip powder on the nails?😍
It works great for those tiny jars and long nails ☺️ my nails just too long to dip!
I been using pouring for a long time before dip got popular I love my clients can go for a month no issues
Absolutely its better because of what she just said. The pressure of pushing your fingers into the powder moves it around sometimes. I want to know where to find the little scoops she is using
@@RATodd-ju7pg It looks like she is just using nail tips as scoops!
This video was really helpful! Thank you Suzie! 💙

Omg where do u live? It's $65+ in South Florida
The color choice gives me Halloween feels! I love it!🎃❤️
Ya i snuck the HALLOWEEN vide in there
I love Suzie so much. Thank you for teaching us novices all the tips and tricks for making us confident with all these new techniques 🥰😍🤩
I’ve recently started using dip and it’s been a mess. It takes forever to get it off. Do you have a video sharing how to remove it?
The gel base coat is the easiest ways & fast . I been doing it in the past 3yrs & love it ,just pour don’t dip . Tips : buy yourself a tiny scoop so won’t waste products and avoid cross contamination .
When removing always thin down with your efile and soak in 100% acetone or wrap each fingers but don’t forget to break the zeal to make it faster . It’s only take about 10minutes
If you dip your nails into a small bowl of acetone, put the acetone bowl in another bigger bowl with very hot water. The hot water reduces the waiting time by 30%
Love this video. I poured the dip powder into a pill bottle, works fantastic for coating nails. Thank you.
Thank you
@@kusumweb I use gel in place of the dip system liquid. Other than the curing with a lamp (in my case led) there is little difference.
Same here .
I just started doing dip recently ( I know late to the party lol ) I have been a Gel user. But im glad to know I have been doing it this way just buy guessing and having self taught nail knowledge.
