@@SipAndDip hi! I'm new here and loving your content. I'm currently using the Beetles brand but the gel polish and I don't know why they're chiping the next day (maybe my nails need hydration?) This video is very helpful! One question: I'm about to do this for the first time so I know nothing. You mentioned adding a clear dip color over everything. Would the "Beetles Nail Dip Powder Clear Color" be an alternative to the brand you mentioned?
Hi Jessica!! Welcome to our little nail community! 💗 Any clear dip powder will work! So the beetles clear is absolutely an option ☺️ it just helps protect color/glitter when you file/buff 💗
Do you have any suggestions for olorless liquids, specially for number 1. I was crying from the smell, my eyes were burning as I got closer to see if I was applying it on right. Help! Thank you
I have so many of their gel polish kits. It is a great brand. I was gonna try a dip kit but I would rather buy small business and a lot of them have the same colors I have in gel
Where do you sign up for the subscription for Candi Skin Care? Every time I look it says it’s sold out. Is there a certain time of month you have to sign up by?
Could you please comment on whether the liquids have a strong odor? I no longer use Kiara sky liquids because I feel like I’m breathing in toxins. Any suggestion on liquids for dip that are low odor?
I would definitely say they are comparable to all other brands. I didn’t notice any better or worse. But definitely have the “super glue” smell. I saw that sparkle and co just launched an odorless dip liquid set though! I plan to buy some soon to review 💗
I got this kit. The same colors as her and I spent hours working on my nails, and they crack the same day. I tried it 3 times and without fail it cracks. I’ve had 4 different kits and this is the first time I had this happened. It’s so frustrating spending so much time and that happens
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear this! 💖 that sounds so frustrating!! It might be worth reaching out to beetles to see if they will send you another kit or refund. That definitely doesn’t sound right especially since you have experience with dip powder. If you want to try to troubleshoot what could be going on, I’d be happy to try to give some suggestions! But I completely understand after something so frustrating if you’d rather not 💖
@@SipAndDip thank you for responding! I’m going to try the kit with other brand powders and see if it cracks. So far I’ve only used the powders in the kit. If that cracks then I’ll reach out to beetles. I’ll try to update.
@@Vee8321 that sounds like a good game plan! 💖 some powders are more finely milled than others and require another dip! So possibly 4 dips for strength. Might be worth trying that too! Another trick is to see if it’s the top coat cracking or the dip powder. If you see cracks, file off the top coat and see if it’s cracked through. Usually that means you need a little more strength if the dip powder cracks 🥰 can’t wait to hear how it goes, good luck!
Step 4 is the brush softener. So if your base base or top coat brush harden (contaminate) then you would use step 4 to soften them. Ideally you’ll never need it 😆 I honestly don’t know why they screw off! I wondered the same! I don’t know if it’s so the sit better. My first thought was a refill thing but I have no clue 🤔😆
Absolutely!! So you have a few options! 1. After activator, file/shape/buff, then activate again. And all done! 2. After activator, file/shape/buff, then activate. Then 1 layer of top coat. Buff it off. Apply activator or rubbing alcohol, done. Doing this helps deal in more strength with the top coat but will still be matte when you buff off the top layer. 3. Apply a matte gel top coat. Dipalicious has a great HEMA free option that makes the nail like velvet 🤤 it does require a lamp to cure 4. Sparkle and co offers a matte top coat that is like a polish. You apply after file/shape/buff. I have it, I don’t love it tbh. It works! But kinda finicky. Hope this helps! 💖
@@SipAndDip I don’t remember if this was the beetles dip powder that you tried? They have a matte top coat too that I was looking at, would you recommend that dipaliscious over the beetles one?
i got one this not long ago I've done it 4 times and all the times after a few hours it cracked on all the nail and chipped right at the front ,i followed the instructions in the set ,if tou can tell me what im doing wrong thank you
Hi there 🫶🏻 so sorry to hear about your chipping 🥺 it may be that you need more strength (more dip powder layers). I would suggest building up an apex and focusing on where the chipping is occurring. I have a video that goes into detail on how to do that if you’d like to watch! ruclips.net/video/vhBz3q4riig/видео.html
Hello, would you say that dip powder is better for your natural nails? I have had acrylics on for years and I have taken them off and my natural nails is ruined. Splitting so soft and just terrible.
Hi there! I am so sorry to hear about your natural nails 🥺💖 so dip powder is actually acrylic, it’s just more finely milled. Truthfully, acrylic and dip powder shouldn’t damage natural nails. But how we prep and remove the product absolutely can damage our natural nails! Over filing the natural nail during prep can take a toll on them. Ripping off the nail enhancement instead of soaking them off can also remove layers of the natural nail. But thankfully, just acrylic/dip powder shouldn’t harm our nails 🙌🏼 I give dip powder all the credit actually for keeping my nails strong and healthy. If it wasn’t for dip powder, mine would totally break. I hope this makes sense and helps! 💖
I like to swatch on top of the swatch stick but others prefer the underside. I like to do 2 layers on top of the swatch of color because that is how I would do it on my nails. After I activate, file/buff, I do a gel top coat sometimes because it saves on time.
Oh no!! I’m so sorry to hear that! 😣 are you on any of the Facebook Buy sell trade dip powder groups? You might be able to sell them on there so you can get some money back! 🤞🏼
Hi Kathleen! I have them in the description box ☺️ by the title there is a small drop drop arrow. If you click that it’ll show the links. Hope this helps! 🥰

Chelsea, I really love your channel. I ordered directly with the link for beetles mentioned here and Amazon sent me a kit with 2 in 1 base and top coat instead of the 1 - 4 listed 😢 Has anyone else experienced this? Very upsetting.
Oh nooo! I’m so sorry to hear that! What’s frustrating is sometimes the companies will put a whole different product on the same exact listing when it goes out of stock. That way if people continue to click on the link it doesn’t say “out of stock” and instead is a whole different product/color section. So sorry for the frustration that must have caused you 🫶🏻 I really wish they’d just leave it as out of stock so that doesn’t happen to y’all. I hope Amazon can help you get it returned! Thank you so much! 🥰 I have definitely noticed a lot of similar packaging between companies. I think it’s a manufacturer thing but I’m not sure 😆 I will say… I used Modelones for quite a while and this beetles kit blows them out of the water 😬😆 BUT I have heard recently that Modelones stepped it up and the powder formula is better. I just haven’t tried it in about 6 months I think 🤔
@@SipAndDip I only started dipping about 3 months ago. So I can not compare to what it used to be like. Modelones is the only powder I have used, I need to branch out. 🤣 but I do find them to be very smooth.
I have this beetle brand here in the UK,(different packaging than yours) ..I bought a set of summer neon dipping powders and it had nice bright green in it and when I put it on I thought it was going to stain my skin and it didnt.. I paid in UK money £6.99 for the set, I bought a few of the sets at that price lol😊..we all love a good bargain..
I use peel base underneath my dip powder to keep up with my filming schedule so mine only last 1-3 days ☺️ For cracks and chipping, I would definitely suggest digging deeper into the individual’s nail chemistry and lifestyle. It’s possible that they may need more strength! So I would suggest an extra layer of dip powder. I would also recommend making sure to really cap off the free edges with the base liquid and top coat. Getting the product on the skin can also affect longevity. That’s just my personal experience 💖 I think there are lots of solutions to try first before giving up! ☺️ it’s definitely trial and error to see what works best for each person. Hope this helps!

I figured I’d be able to with dips as they’re easier to do and safer for your nails than acrylics. Any tips would be amazing! Thanks!
@@teddy3282ify 🙌🏼 yassss!! That soak off routine really is a game changer!! I’m so happy to hear about how well your dip powder journey is going 🥹 makes my heart happy!

@@SipAndDip tips mainly! I’ve got a pack of 100 and I’m kind of trying to figure it out but it’s not going 100% smoothly.
When using the activator, do we need to wipe the brush off on a paper towel after each nail? Or is that just for the base and top coats? Thanks.
I don’t personally wipe the the activator brush. I haven’t encountered any issues so far! 🫶🏻
@@SipAndDip Thanks!
Thank you for doing this! I have been wondering how good this kit is!!
Can you use a normal nail colour over these? So like if I did clear dip and then just painted over with normal polish (not gel) would that work ?
Absolutely! I have a video of how I applied regular nail polish on top of clear dip powder too 🥰 it will give you the strength of dip powder and versatility of nail polish 💖
Gorgeous! Never used inexpensive products but I’m ready to give this a try!
Beautiful! Would you recommend the Beetles kit over Modelones? Thanks!
Absolutely!! In a heartbeat! The beetles one really shocked me! I also have another amazon kit I’m hoping to upload tomorrow!
Got mine for $10 3 months ago and I got 4😁 I love them last 2-3 weeks
🙌🏼🥳 that is a STEAL! I’d stock up for that price too 😆😆
Maybe I missed this...but do you need a UV light for this? Also what was it that she put on the nails that wasn't in the kit??
No light needed with dip powder liquids 🥰 I think you are talking about the clear dip powder?? I apply a layer of clear dip powder on top of the colors/glitters to protect them while filing/shaping. Hope this helps! 💖
Will the base and activator from Azure work with Beetles dips?
Absolutely! You can interchange different brands of liquids with different brands of powders 🫶🏻
@@SipAndDip great. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. First time dipper here! Watched your video. Got all I needed and watched again as I went through. I didn't do the best job but not bad at all. I should have waited a little longer to brush the excess of the liquid dry time is a little long...which is great for me... but taking that into factor would have helped. But I did one nail at a time the first time so prevented that mistake on the others!! Truly appreciate this video. Thank you again!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Sorry to hear about your nails chipping 🫶🏻 it can sometimes be due to needing a little bit more strength (aka layers). Here’s a video I made that walks through some things you can try! 💖 ruclips.net/video/vhBz3q4riig/видео.html
@@SipAndDip thank you so much! I did 3 layers so I think I need to use paper towel to wipe off product even more. I like the brush bristles of Beetles more than Azure. thank you for your videos! super helpful :)
So I am brand new to this. I bought a kit and I’m wondering what is the brush saver liquid and how do I use it?? Please lmk 😊
The brush saver liquid is for if your dip base or dip top coat brush gets hard/goopy. You would use the brush saver liquid to try to restore your hardened brushes 🥰
@@SipAndDip thank w so much!
Love the colors you picked out
Have you tried the beetles candy cane dip powder?
I haven’t! Is this one of the collection colors?
This is the powder I was telling youabout
I messaged you on Instagram, with the kit link
I like the brush ida and buffing idea.
Looks beautiful! Question before buying, how do you remove the color?
Thank you so much! I use the soak off method 💖 I have a video of my removal steps and how I keep them from drying out in acetone 🥰
What is the base you put on your nails before the clear coat when you added the powder color?
I’m so sorry, I am not completely sure what you are asking?
On my natural nails I have peel base. This allows for me to pop the dip nails off within 1-3 days.
My dip application steps are :
base liquid, dip into color powder
base liquid, dip into color powder
Base liquid, dip into clear powder
Activator
File/shape
Top coat
Top coat
Please let me know if that helps! 💖
@@SipAndDip hi! I'm new here and loving your content. I'm currently using the Beetles brand but the gel polish and I don't know why they're chiping the next day (maybe my nails need hydration?) I tried everything to make this last, but it cracks and chips literally the next day, no matter how much I care for it. I tried different approaches and followed every step of your process too, but still nothing works :(

Can you drop a video discussing what brands you recommend for beginners as well as what brands you’ve found to be easily contaminated? I am researching what brand to start with and I’m not sure if I want to invest a small amount or invest more. I’m going to check this kit out after the video. Thanks for the advice!

This video is very helpful! One question: I'm about to do this for the first time so I know nothing. You mentioned adding a clear dip color over everything. Would the "Beetles Nail Dip Powder Clear Color" be an alternative to the brand you mentioned?
Hi Jessica!! Welcome to our little nail community! 💗
Any clear dip powder will work! So the beetles clear is absolutely an option ☺️ it just helps protect color/glitter when you file/buff 💗

Can you mix any powder and liquids???
You can use one brand’s powders with another brand’s liquids 🩷
@@SipAndDip Thank you for your response! I have learned so much from you about dip nails.
I have so many of their gel polish kits. It is a great brand. I was gonna try a dip kit but I would rather buy small business and a lot of them have the same colors I have in gel
I love their gel kits 🙌🏼 so many color choices! I have the pastel one. But I am NOT a fan of the gel top/base 🤐
Where do you sign up for the subscription for Candi Skin Care? Every time I look it says it’s sold out. Is there a certain time of month you have to sign up by?
It’s open all of the time 🙌🏼💗 but instead of adding it to the cart you have to use the yellow subscribe button. Hope this helps!
@SipAndDip thank you so much! I’ll have to try that and see if it works. 😅👍🏻
Would I do this same technique with tips? Of course after proper application and prep!
Absolutely! 💗
What about bottle 4 ? I missed where you use it
Bottle 4 is a brush saver. That will help if your base + top coat brush hardens or contaminates. Luckily I didn’t need it 🥰
I don’t see where you linked the products you use?
How long did the nails last ?
Hey Chel’s. Loving this mani. Have a great safe weekend & stay safe. ❤️
Thanks babe!! You too!! 💗🙌🏼
what are the screw caps for on the bottom of the bottles?
To be honest, I am not sure!! I have wondered the same thing! I thought maybe refilling but honestly I am not sure 🤔 🙈
Do you know what liquid #4 is for?
Also, any idea why the liquid bottles unscrew from the bottom?
Step 4 is the brush softener. So if your base base or top coat brush harden (contaminate) then you would use step 4 to soften them. Ideally you’ll never need it 😆
I honestly don’t know why they screw off! I wondered the same! I don’t know if it’s so the sit better. My first thought was a refill thing but I have no clue 🤔😆
Do you know if you can do dip powder with a matte top coat?
Absolutely!! So you have a few options!
1. After activator, file/shape/buff, then activate again. And all done!
2. After activator, file/shape/buff, then activate. Then 1 layer of top coat. Buff it off. Apply activator or rubbing alcohol, done. Doing this helps deal in more strength with the top coat but will still be matte when you buff off the top layer.
3. Apply a matte gel top coat. Dipalicious has a great HEMA free option that makes the nail like velvet 🤤 it does require a lamp to cure
@@modishmade I haven’t tried the beetles one yet so I can’t say on how they compare. But if you give it a try please let me know what you think! 🥰

Hi there 🫶🏻 so sorry to hear about your chipping 🥺 it may be that you need more strength (more dip powder layers). I would suggest building up an apex and focusing on where the chipping is occurring. I have a video that goes into detail on how to do that if you’d like to watch!

Beautiful manicure and great tips. You a d Marla made me do it
I just ordered this kit.
I cant seem to find it
Hello, would you say that dip powder is better for your natural nails?
Hi will this harden your nails
How do you swatch a color?
I like to swatch on top of the swatch stick but others prefer the underside. I like to do 2 layers on top of the swatch of color because that is how I would do it on my nails. After I activate, file/buff, I do a gel top coat sometimes because it saves on time.
Loved your video and bought mine. My colors were not complimentary. Super sad face. I’ll try another color pallet.
Oh no!! I’m so sorry to hear that! 😣 are you on any of the Facebook Buy sell trade dip powder groups? You might be able to sell them on there so you can get some money back! 🤞🏼

Chelsea, I really love your channel.
I ordered directly with the link for beetles mentioned here and Amazon sent me a kit with 2 in 1 base and top coat instead of the 1 - 4 listed 😢
Has anyone else experienced this? Very upsetting.
Oh nooo! I’m so sorry to hear that! What’s frustrating is sometimes the companies will put a whole different product on the same exact listing when it goes out of stock. That way if people continue to click on the link it doesn’t say “out of stock” and instead is a whole different product/color section. So sorry for the frustration that must have caused you 🫶🏻 I really wish they’d just leave it as out of stock so that doesn’t happen to y’all. I hope Amazon can help you get it returned! @@SipAndDip Thank you!! :)
Wow, that was a pretty set. This set looks the same as modelones dip powder. The jar designs are identical except for company name.

Yasss! That’s amazing!! 🙌🏼
So you wore these for a while and didn’t have any cracks or chips? There are a lot of reviews saying that they chip or crack within a couple of days.
I use peel base underneath my dip powder to keep up with my filming schedule so mine only last 1-3 days ☺️
For cracks and chipping, I would definitely suggest digging deeper into the individual’s nail chemistry and lifestyle.
@@SipAndDip I just bought this set today I just wanted to make sure I didn’t need to return before even opening. So I should do 3-4 layers? I’m a stay at home mom and between cleaning and a baby I think I’m probably pretty rough on them.
