Agreed, although I liked Emma, that would have been the typical Hollywood ending. And Ricky detests Hollywood, so I was pretty certain we were gonna get another ending. And I wasn't disappointed.

Me too, lost my soulmate almost 5 years ago, he was 47. This was so raw for me and I cried all the way through yet it also made me laugh too. I feel like I lost a part of myself and just don't feel the same any more, I laugh on the outside but cry on the inside because after 4 and half years people kind of expect you to be back to normal when I feel like nothing ever can be.
I have lost my husband 7 months ago and this After Life has helped me so much; beyond my expectation, I sobbed a lot but laugh harder either. It has helped me to understand what I am going through and how life keeps unfolding anyway!
Only last night did I view the last episode of Afterlife, watched whole series over a week. Didn’t want it to end and will probably watch it all again. There has never been a series that has moved me so much, a rollercoaster of emotions, and the Joni Mitchell song towards the end .. well it just gets you, in fact every song throughout the series was perfectly placed and perfectly chosen. Really love watching After life. I lost my 35 Yr old son in July 2021 and find the grieving process can be so confusing. Great to be able to relate. I agree that we have humour as a natural inbuilt source which helps to cope with the painful emotions when they come. You have so much awareness of our humanness and love how there is an acceptance of of the different characters authenticity and how we all need each other. We are all so different yet so alike.
I've watched the first two seasons with My parents. I've lost my dad due to covid right before season 3 came out. I've just watched it this week and I believe it helped me in some many ways to look the death in a different way and perspective. I guess it helped me to heal some parts that were still bruised in me. I am not completely ok but I felt it healing. Loved this third season 👌

I watched both series together when they came out on Netflix a while back, and then again just before Christmas..I knew how special and beautiful it was and going through a very emotional Christmas after loosing someone I loved VERY much but in a different way it still helped me, and then season 3 was an absolute perfect way to end it. Thank you RG soooo much for making many of us sad, happy and laugh all in one go, what you do is a gift which you then kindly share with us so again thank you🙏🏼

I’ve never laughed out load sitting alone in front of the telly as I did when I watched Ricki in stand up doing ‘ ANIMALS’ other than ‘AFTER LIFE’ he is a lovely, talented man and I wish he would do more . I really love this man.
This was amazing my wife laughed and cried at this she said l now know how my mum felt when dad died and sadly she left us in 2020 but she always took her mum out for a meal we had her at our house for a week and always had her at xmas

I’ve been watching this show with my autistic teenager and he can relate to the feelings portrayed in there. That’s a wonderful thing to experience for me. I’ve been laughing and crying throughout the whole thing. So humble. And beautiful.

Watched all 3 series in a few days, 6 months after I lost my wife of 55 years. I thought it was just amazing that someone who had not been through that experience in real life, could write something that so accurately captures how it feels. Brilliant and Amazing.
I absolutely loved this series!! 100% true to life!! 👍👍💕 The story, cast, all of it was just AMAZING! I lost my brother to suicide and just as I was coming to terms with that, I lost my grandmother and my mom (6 months apart), 3 of my senior cats and our dog,Rocky.
As a massive fan of the first two seasons - watched each episode four times and laughed and cried my way through the lot - I was obviously looking forward to the third season immensely. I'd watched the first four and loved them all but thought it was the weakest of the three series. And then No 5 hit it out of the park and I blubbed like a baby throughout the sixth episode. I think that is the best of the whole 18 episodes. Still really missed Sandy and Roxy.

I disagree with some critics who said that Ricky compromised the integrity of the show to capitalize on views in seasons 2 and 3, especially after this interview. He's brilliant.
This show has been helpful to me. My wife died from breast cancer at 43. It’s just me, our three kids and our German Shepherd. Been through the series twice as I’m still trying to work through such a horrible thing. It has been so helpful and I thank you for it.
I want to watch his show but don't have netflix. I am trying to order it from our local library, still waiting to see if they have it or can get it for me. I would really love to watch this show.
