I watched the whole series 3 last night i was ok until Tony was with the children suffering from cancer then it hit me straight in the heart as i have sadly lost my child from cancer it and it broke me and watching it yesterday i was broken again but i ended watching the show crying my eyes out then i smiled thank you Ricky ❤️👍🏼
I watched the first 2 seasons and talked about it with my girlfriend, I told her it was beautiful and really worth a watch. She's no longer with us and this show is helping me understand that it's not just me who feels like their world has ended, but at least there's hope that I can keep going for us both... thank you for this show
I had the same feeling before this series. I will always feel with you and i join you on the wish to show something someone anything. Sharing ist the most point of love. This Show doesnt give a conclusion to the individual problem but it helps to get some unnessary tears out. Third Sesaon didnt add too much to the first two, but i am glad he ended it at that
Totally resonate with the dog thing. The rushing to get to them 😂 I'm exactly the same. I'm a dog walker full time and I'll never not be excited to see the dogs every day. They are magical.
I’ve followed Ricky’s career from the beginning (when he was a pop star). He gets better and better. I think he’s softened. When he said he wondered what Brandy would think not seeing him was thoughtful and sad. He is a huge Animal advocate and I love him, for that alone. Bless him 🐾🤗
Thank you so much Ricky for allowing us to both cry and laugh at the same time. My heart felt so full of love for your characters and also it helped me in my own life after losing my brother unexpectedly just days after his birthday a couple of years ago. You basically allowed me to channel my grief in a healthy way. After Life will undoubtedly remain one of my favorite shows for the rest of my life.
I love After Life. I was so excited for season 3 and it didn't disappoint. The actors are amazing and so true to life. There are many of us grieving, eventually all of us so the story is so relevant. I love the dog and how important she is to Tony's story. I laughed and cried!! So sad the series ended!
Watched season 3 start to end. I think the ending was brilliant and beautiful. I’ll miss all the many interesting characters so much. Fantastic series! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love the show. I watched 4 episodes of season 3 last night. I didn't know this is the last season until popping in here. I will miss it. Ricky Gervais is the best. I love him as host of the Golden Globes as well...
I believe Kath's history had its presence increased in this last season, and her true to life lowliness reached paroxysm, through inner desperation. Her somewhat firm office posture was greatly opposed to her pure, deep feeling and acknowledgment of her own lowliness. At the end, it seems, she got more than she looked for, with the 'perfect gentleman'. Her character evolved brilliantly, from fantasy, through compensation, through try and error, then resolution. Trademark of this series, her character writing also was beautifully rested on true life all the time. Brilliant.
Ricky is such a magnificent, gentle, kind and incredibly funny man. A gift that gives joy everyday. Also what an amazing interviewer. It must be a privilege to have her working for your channel.
I love Ricky he is so humble & caring as well as extremely talented & funny - congrats on S3 Ricky it was bloody brilliant you 'snot curdling runt' haha
A wonderful show. My husband passed quite a few years ago. Ricky made me laugh a lot and cry a lot. I would love to ask Ricky, what inspired him to write this story. 3 seasons was perfect. Is it true there is going to be a Christmas special.
I also lost my partner some years ago and agree. His writing was inspired. He captured the experience and descriptions he gave of what it teaches is stunning. He must have a very strong sense of empathy and high emotional intelligence. The monologue he gives to his brother in law when giving him the cheque helped me to realise why I have spent the years since talking about contentment instead of happiness.
That was a great interview, loved the questions, so different... well done you. The 1st time I was teary from emotions listening to the answers instead of laughter... 💗
Had a bit of a meltdown last night talking to my wife about the whole COVID thing and the effects it’s had on our lives, got pretty emotional and just let it out. Same stuff as most people are going through, not poor me things, just that my patience is wearing thin with other people(not my wife) and all the usual winges. After calming down a bit we decided to watch episodes 4 and 5 of season three and within minutes my whole mood had changed and I was laughing hysterically. Thanks Ricky for this magical show, and your bent sense of humour, most appreciated. Please have Brian open up for your next stand up tour although he may be hard to follow. Cheers
Rickly outdid himself with After Life. The weetabix with water really hit home how grief can affect you. How can you think about shopping when you are at your lowest ebb. The messages are perfect about life. Huge congrats to Ricky Gervais xx
I absolutely loved after life, and I think this third series is some of the best work Ricky has ever produced. Having lost a very close family member last year, it spoke to me on a personal level. I've been a fan of Ricky from the start, I've seen every series and stand up, so to say this is his best work is really high praise I promise that much!!
If in arts there was an expression to describe a tough heartfelt emotion in the most funny and vulgar way, that would be called 'gervaiseism'. This guy is a genius, there's no one like him and so greatful for his work! Love ya, man! ♥️
Basically, afterlife categorizes how a great person with a big heart Gervais is, it's impossible that a bad person can write and create this amazing yet minimalistic series
Most of the best and humorous comedic bits come from the darkest situations and their are only a few that are brave enough to be honest and real. Ricky G, Bill Burr, J Rogan and Rusty Brand, are just a few that come to mind. Keep it up.
Oh, I didn’t know that season 3 is out. I discovered this show through his mentioning during his Golden Globe monolouge and I bindged the first two seasons. And I will do that with season 3.
If each country had a Ricky, this world would be a better and funnier place... national treasure simply. Cant wait for his next project for Netflix which has been approved.
My wife took our small king charles spaniel into the hospice she worked at...... An old lady who was very bitter about her situation broke into a large smile when the dog jumped on her knee.....
I loved series 1 and 2 and am looking forward to 3. I don't see it as a comedy at all, I wouldn't even think of it as a dark comedy, more of a drama. Like most dramas, there are a few amusing pieces. Incidentally, brilliant writer that he is, the joke Ricky says he 'wrote for the show' with the ginger kid has been used for years by various stand up comics. He just wrote the situation to use the joke.
Can't think of a bad thing Ricky has done TBH. From XFM and podcasts (Karl very much the main reason behind how good they are), Office, Extras, all the stand ups, Derek, After Life. The latter two are almost impossible to separate, both outstanding.
Ricky G. : "...it will outlive me....it's not mine anymore, it belongs to the people...." The Ricky Gervais in me: "Really? Reeeeeaally? I am a people. Where's my money and the royalties that come with it, then? Go on... Give ot back. Come ooooonnnn!"
I loved this series. I binge watched season 3. The only character I couldn’t stand was Brian cause is very much the same vulgar sex talker from Derek but other that I absolutely LOVED the show. Congrats!

After Life series 1, 2 but especially series 3 is beautifully written and Ricky got the casting spot on…..loved it.
When season 1 started I had just lost my dad I don't think a tv show has ever made me cry but watching after life I was always crying
Touching, intelligent, wonderful interview! This interviewer is excellent!! Genuine, atttentive, engaged listener, thoughtful questions, respectful....simply marvelous!

I love After life and can honestly say i've never cried so much to anything in my life, besides real life things of course.
I can honestly say it really made me laugh out loud and cry secretly. I love this show .
Season 3 was so beautiful. The ending is perfect
Great interview, great questions! It must be a privilege to make Ricky laugh sincerely!
What a charming presenter person.
OK, I’ll be the first dinosaur…cute as a button!
I want to know more about the presenter person.
I love this guy, because he’s hilarious, clever, true to life but mostly because he loves dogs 😜
Brilliant series! Such a talent! Life goes on.
This show and Ted lasso most heart felt shows ever, felt real emotions. Amazing

"please don't let Tony kill himself"
The adventures of ASM !

He should do S4 of Afterlife with all the main characters played by dogs and Brandy as a human pet.
Dogs are beautiful 😍
bring back the ricky gervais show pleaseeee
Story of my life! The one show he’s done that I can take or leave it and he makes a third series of it 🤦🏼♂️
typical ricky, which is a great thing. he gets his fans, he gets dogs, he gets "life". and we get emotional highs and lows, in the best way.
Great interview, but please lose the zoom cuts! Ricky said something on the lines of repetition losing effect - Take notice!
Ricky G. : "...it will outlive me....it's not mine anymore, it belongs to the people...."
