I hope that organization can help me! I just applied to it. I am a musician too! :) I believe God helped me to find her! She's a great singer! I've been a former vocal coach as well but rarely teach now/have lost a lot of my singing voice/was exposed to toxic mold a couple of years ago :S - I get sick with respiratory issues since every few weeks now. It wd be a dream of mine to live in a tiny home that is mold free with my special needs son who I homeschool/is on the autistic spectrum. ❤ Love to you and your precious daughter!!!

Your home is beautiful and I’m really grateful that you were able to survive also and you are now thriving in a new mold-free home. I got some great ideas from you and I can’t wait to share this video with others so they can too.

I have to say, this (not too tiny) tiny has to be my all time fav. I’d grown weary of the entire idea because I couldn’t practically in-vision living so minimally (although I love the idea). I can actually imagine myself living in this pretty home and making the 500sq ft work long term.

    • @lisagrace6471

same- well said. I would want to add an adjacent space for my 10 year old and tiny homeschool space and build out the deck to accommodate more time outside, more comfortably and naturally. Just even more robust I mean:) But that feels possible with what they chose to do and the price range.

Very cool! So much joyful energy in this home because of who lives there. Wishing them the best! ❤🎸🖌🤩🦮😍📚🩺❤

Yes, an air exchanger is essential in a tiny home, as is an exhaust fan in the bathroom and kitchen area. This lovely home works for this nice couple, but most of us would rather not pay the outrageous expense to deliver or move a 12' wide-load home. I would prefer a longer home that is 10' wide, and has a main floor master. Also, those tall steps are impossible for people with bad knees to navigate multiple times a day. I'll have 7"-8" risers on the steps to my guest sleeping loft, so I can use that space when I don't have company. Enjoy your new home!

@@OliviaFarabaugh If you don't mind sharing, I would love to hear your cost and distance to move your house. : - ) I've heard it is NOT as expensive or difficult as commonly believed (people move much bigger mobile homes all the time), but since most tiny owners stick to 8.5 or under, it's hard to find actual examples. Congrats on your happy home! : - D ❤🏡❤

...I wonder if I have CIRS....because when I moved into the apartment just before the one I'm in now, that was when I had my biggest fibromyalgia flare up and eventually diagnosed with it. From that point on, my health continued to decline. When I moved out, the new home owner did a big reno and discovered that underneath the carpet of my bedroom was all mold!
Also, chopping down that office chair to fit in the loft is GENIUS!!! 👏👏👏

Wow Gen! Im really sorry to hear about your health trails! I know that one of the common misdiagnosis's for CIRS is fibromyalgia, it really might be something to look into. If you go down that rout and see more similarities i have some videos on my channel about my experience with it and the CIRS Support fund is out there to if you need financial assistance with treatment. You are not along! I will keep you in my prayers Gen for answers and healing for you!

I clicked so fast when I saw this! I follow Olivia on youtube and have already been a fan of her tiny home (and singing)! I also have CIRS, otherwise known as mold illness. I am in the process of planning a shed to home so I am very excited to hear that her and her partner are offering a course on building tiny. This will hopefully save me having to consult a biological building consultant myself. Their tiny is so well thought out! Love how they planned a place for everything and also kept avoiding mold at the top of their priorities. Mold has such negative effect on so many peoples health (lots of time without people knowing it), so its really important and worthwhile to put the extra work in to make your home a safe and healthy enviroment!

My goodness, you've thought of some fantastic storage solutions! I LOVE THEM! Love the dog food area & the kitchen! I'm going to steal several of them if/when I ever build a tiny. The only thing I'd add would be a fireplace, but i live in Montana...were always looking for ways to keep our backsides warm...😆 A friend of mine had the black mold issue in their house. She & her hubby went through A LOT trying to get rid of it. I don't know if it would help you, but she had a craving & started to eat that snack food (Costco carries it) that's thin, crispy sheets made of seaweed. Sounds awful, but if you're at all open to interesting food, you'll be ok w/ it. It's not bad...😊 But something in that stuff (iodine, maybe??) helped her to feel better. I'm glad you got rid of your mold problem. It's no fun...

The size of trailer/mobile homes /park models are coming back only these won't fall apart like a trailer will because it's made using the mind set of constructing a house. Park models were 8×30 , Mobile home's 12 by .... unlimited to 80 feet long then adding 2 to 3 to 4 side by side calling them " double / triple wides and garages. These are more customized to meet the needs of young and old people.
I would rather own 2-3-4 tiny homes in different parts of the US then one 5000 sq and they can become air b and b. But not in the old mind set of Trailer parks or the 55 plus parks. Planning and patience.

Thank you so so much for mentioning CIRS! I have been a visitor and resident of Arizona, in which valley fever(fungus) exists and that my father and I are part of the smallest percentile of severity. I now have all but 2 of the symptoms of CIRS, and antifungals help some of these but not all. I also feel that my now home in a wet climate is making me feel more ill. I don’t leave home much. But a few weekends ago I went to a community function and experienced foot and leg cramping that made me sit on the floor of the building unable to walk for many minutes almost an hour. (So embarrassing) if there is anything else you wouldn’t mind sharing about what has helped you get your life back? I sure could use a lot of advice because it’s been two years now of living …! Quality of life is none existent. Not to mention being unable to afford changes to my home to improve it.

If I were super concerned with moisture in the house, I would hang that clothesline outside! I definitely would not hang dry my clothes inside.. especially in such a small space! It may not seem like a big deal, but the moisture given off the laundry is quite a lot and if you're in a small enough space, you can sometimes even see the condensation on the walls! 😬

I like the way the ladder was incorporated and the little loft space. Instead of having the TV drop down, it would be better to have the TV rise up from under the window the lounge faces. I've seen that in micro apartment designs. It would be a more comfortable level for watching.

Oh I so feel this, I have poisoned with black mold over the course of three years during lockdown (so I wasn't able to escape!) and now I have a whole load of health issues associated with that. I needed to get out so I'm traveling full-time because of the housing crisis back in my home country (England). It's a tough situation that doesn't have a lot of regulations, at least ones that are enforced, and it's so common I couldn't bare signing a new tenancy and then finding out I had to live with it again. So travel has been the best solution for me which also comes with it's own challenges (the house I'm currently staying has a mold problem, too... just can't seem to escape it!).

I am so sorry you are going through the hardships of mold as well! My heart aches for you as I can relate to these struggles. That is so smart of you to not sign anything until you have found a truly safe place. At one point a few years back I felt like I couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. I say that to you because now i am standing in the light and there IS an end to the tunnel. There is so much hope and healing waiting for you around the corner. To be honest i still struggle with flare ups and exposure but I am in SUCH a better place then I was, its hard to fathom the difference. I know that the Lord is walking with you as he walks with me through these hardships. YOU GOT THIS! I will keep you in my prayers

This is great, and thanks for showing. I'm not able to do mine for about 7 years (waiting for my youngest to graduate from school) but have been writing down stuff, making a book of what i want, what I don't want, who is going to do it (here in Colorado) and some great ideas I've seen from your video that I hadn't thought about. Mine is going to be 10x34 ish. I am also not taking the ground floor as bedroom space, but using as one of my craft spaces. Want to use the loft above as bedroom, have always wanted a skylight above my bed, and I think after 63 years of being around and growing up kids and husbands, I deserve one, LOL. Great video and going to check out your build video also. Thank you for this.

Really a nice layout surprised at the closet space. Everything is well thought out. The price to build is, I think in line with what you have. The upstairs sleeping loft is also very functional. I would use this plan in combination with my favorites, if building or buying a tiny home. The only thing different would be the steps, would make them with storage and try to keep at 7.5 in high. Great tour! Looking forward to seeing the build video!
