  • After seeking solutions for housing their son when he returns from the Navy, Nate and Christina fell in love with movable tiny homes and set out to design a tiny home that even the average home dweller would live in.
This McKenzie tiny home is the first model for Motley Construction LLC, owned by Nate and Christina Parker... Builder + Designer duo located in Coburg Oregon, and you will quickly see the thoughtfulness with every step of this build.
First, much research was done to design this tiny home's exterior to conform to zoning language that was being adopted throughout the US stating that the exteriors couldn't have metal siding and must fit into most residential neighborhoods.
With board & batten siding and vertical shiplap siding painted in SW Origami White, black vinyl double hung windows, and cedar accented porch, it is sure to fit into a variety of neighbors that allow THOW's as ADU's.
Nate's focus was on quality building throughout and ensuring this home would be complimentary to the level of construction services Motley Construction offers their local clients. Building to NOAH ANSI+ standard and the IRC Appendix Q code for ADU construction was adopted.
You will see this in the framing, professional electrical install, skylight egress, handrails, utility accesses and many other safety features in this tiny home.
The interior is where Christina put her interior design experience into action with attention to function, spacial planning, material selection, lighting, and kitchen / bath design. Each space gives the feels of a cozy home retreat and although you are living with less, you feel like you have a higher quality of life.
This tiny home is completed and ready for transport.
If you are looking for a tiny home with elevated details and quality building practices, Nate & Christina will walk with you through each step of your build. Contact us today!
We hope you enjoy the full tour of this custom tiny house. If you have any questions please comment below.

You might want to rethink that microwave placement. While it seems like a great idea, in actuality it an accident waiting to happen.when you place a microwave above shoulder height, you lose sight of the back edge of the dish/bowl/plate obscuring your ability to hold it level and 9 times out of 10 you unintentionally tilt the dish towards you & often resulting in hot food falling towards your face and upper body. Better to put it in a slide out drawer or a pull down lift.

Someday, I’m going to find a well laid out tiny home that’s only a single story. No stairs and no lofts. I’m just too old to crawl across the bed or around some storage area on my hands and knees, not to mention I’m claustrophobic, and this type of sleeping space just does not appeal to me. I do like that it’s on a 50 amp service instead of 100 though.

@@motleybuilditbeautifulThe same goes for shots in the bathroom. Especially shots of the toilet area and the storage shelves beside the washer. Additionally, the whole home seems geared to younger people and those who are not weight challenged. Passing into the eating nook was tight, and turning around in the toilet area looked tight too. Especially for someone that was wider in the hips. It felt the same going up the stairs. You are by no means weight challenged, but you didn't have very much space to spare when climbing the stairs.
It was good there was standing area on the one side of the bed, but climbing in and out with no way to get fully around the bed can be problematic, especially for owners that aren't agile as those in their 20s or 30s.
I loved the style and all the natural lighting. And the cohesive look of the artificial lights was cool too.
I don't know if it's just me, or if this home didn't seem big enough to rate the title of luxury except for fixtures and finishes.

This home is beautiful. One thing I would love to see is an area for a stackable washer and dryer. I have heard quite a few negative things about combos so I’d rather have two separate units. And I like the idea of it being 10.5 wide. Love the standing height closet. I would like a few cabinets in the kitchen instead of just the shelves, maybe a combo of shelves and cabinets. If they’re placed just right maybe it make it look like a tight space.

Too bad your talented husband, Rob, does not come up with these great ideas and put them into a book. I would certainly buy it, because I don't think you want Rob traveling from job to job in who knows what state. If he shared some ideas and a description of how to do it, people like me can either do a pitiful version of it or accomplished people can maje their tiny home so interestingly beautiful. I see this a lot, not sure why Tiny home and RV builders are not providing outside security covers for water, gas, and power? Especially the water inlet needs to be covered and locked protecting the inlet from tampering or contamination. Also- are manufacturers actually testing the all in one laundry machine? I’ve had one, and mine didn’t clean or dry very well. That would be a bummer to be stuck with that only option.

This tour was tricky to follow. I couldn't even tell how you got into the bathroom and I guess it was the first door to the left leaving the kitchen? Made it feel really cramped.
Was wondering if the space to the right of the small refrigerator would allow for a larger capacity fridge? Also, it opens so close to the opposing countertop, that you have to open it up wide to get into it. I'd rather have closed cabinetry, and my microwave exposed. Just me, I guess. I would have chosen a larger fireplace as well, given the size of the wall for it. Otherwise, love the appearance and overall open feeling.

So how much is this model as is? + what’s the difference not only in cost for a base model, what does that take away?
    It’s absolutely beautiful & inviting. ♥️

So this unit remains on the wheels, so it wouldn't require barely any building permits if you were putting in on the property you already own? Also, what's the time range of the maintenance for the wheels and trailer bed?

    • @motleybuilditbeautiful
      @motleybuilditbeautiful  Год назад +3

The trailer is steel powder coated…. It’s going to last awhile. Some attach the chassis to a pier pad system and then remove the tires. Others just place a skirting around the base. You have so many options.
