There is a tiny home movement so people will push their agenda as do people who produce these types of videos tbh. The reality is, there are pro and cons to everything. Some people don't want to share what they don't like or even are manipulated to say certain things (not saying she or this channel

She admitted to having Parkinson's which I gathered from the tremor in her hand. It also means she has a flat affect. So even though she told us what she didn't like, and that it'll be an adjustment process I think over all she likes it and is hopeful for the future.

I said the same thing. Some of these people are so fake. They have like 10 kids crammed into one of these houses and act like it’s all sunshine and rainbows and everything thing is perfect. Just like with anything in life there’s pros and cons. I appreciated her honesty. I feel like I live in a tiny house right now! Two years later and this is still one of my top 5 videos out of the hundreds of RUclips tiny home videos I've watched. This lovely lady doesn't know it, but she is the reason I embarked on a personal mission to downsize and prioritize my material life. After watching this video years ago, I was so moved by her open honest account of maturing life and how to manage the things we collect as we travel through our years. I really felt like she gave me the permission I didn't know I needed, to purge the excess in my life and still grieve for those things - all the while reaping the benefits of a more minimal life. Thank you for helping me through the process of material emotional attachment and there by unburdening my life in so many ways. ❤️

Except for the busy tile pattern and the place would feel larger if she stuck with white draperies for the makeshift closet doors and storage spaces. The use of wood counters, flooring and shelves warms the space. It could have felt very mobil home-ish. Instead I am looking at her place and just thinking with a few things different it would be very comfortable. Tiny needs simplicity as there is a close limit before things look cluttered. Put the spices in a drawer or cabinet, the frig needs to be bare. The place lacks wall space and she does a good job of cluttering up every foot of wall there is.

I haven't watched all that many videos about tiny houses/homes but this is the first time anyone has mentioned the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and I was thrilled! Accessibility is the only way for people with disabilities to even consider a small/tiny home. Things like ramps, wide doors and halls, counter height, no-threshold showers, possibly a lift on a staircase, these are things that most elderly people would benefit from, as well. Ms. Beverly, I hope you will be able to stay in your lovely home for years. All the best to you!

I love my tiny home, 480 square foot. The secret is use all the wall space for storage, wire shelving on the top corner, and if you don't have inside space, make outside space and if money is tight, do it little by little over time. I added a 400 square foot screened in back porch, 400 square foot carport, a 530 square foot covered fire pit awning, added a 200 square foot shed, then front and side courtyard fence to have privacy on the sides and have a open back yard view. I have added a project to my house every year with my tax return money since I built my house 11yrs ago. I love having about 12 friends over on weekends during the winter to enjoy the fire pit, my bbq or my gumbo and some drinks and relax. I can't entertain inside but I have a great outside space that everyone enjoys.
oven top no stove, toaster air fryer oven, tankless heat on demand water heater for space saving, energy savings, and unlimited hot water. Screened in porches for year round use so no bugs. Even if you plan on moving your tiny home if you own a lot to have as its main spot you could make decks on 3 of the 4 sides that the tiny home trailer could park in between that way when you come home you have an attached porch with all around views. Also to add space inside you can make it outside. On those porches you can make outside kitchens, outside enclosed bathrooms, outside fire places/fire pits. If you feel cramped inside you can put it outside and basically use your inside for AC sleeping, and watching tv. When I fry food I use my fryers on my back screened in porch as to not heat up the house in the summer and to not smell up the inside with fried fish.

You have an amazing tiny house! I built one for my son last year, but much smaller, so I can see all of the details and thought process that you have put into yours with your layout. One thing I noticed, was when you mentioned that your shower was not hot enough. That was the first complaint from my son about his tiny house. If you take the handle off of your shower, you should see an adjustment in there to adjust the hot water valve. They come from the factory with a safety temperature setting where someone won't get scalded. You can usually do a quick internet search for your shower faucet brand, and find the instructions for adjusting the internal water valve. I adjusted my son's, in about 2 minutes, and no more luke warm showers. If you are handy, then you can do it yourself, no need to call a plumber. Just thought I would share that, because I experienced the exact same issue, and no one wants to take barely warm showers.. Once again, we love your house!

This is so beautiful and I also love how REAL she was with her feelings. Her likes, dislikes.... the fact that she isn't " hyping" it up but rather straight shoots the entire aspect, is so very commendable and beautifully explained.
It's not an " easy" process... mentally or physically, to change one's lifestyle and ways of living. So the fact that she is so clear about giving oneself Grace and have discernment about the transition into " Tiny Home Living", is so important. Her transparency is so honest and appreciated. It obviously is an adjustment.. but one that is both mental & Physical ( since she has a "Progressive" Autoimmune Disorder). I also have an AD, so this is so appreciated. I'm still so very interested as well.😊 I thank her so very much for an amazing, unique and wonderful tour of her Beautiful Tiny Home and Life!! God bless her for her selflessness in being so humble and generous to her neighbors/ family She's clearly made a difference and I'm certain if asked, her neighbors most likely "adore & appreciate" her kindness and friendship. I've lived in tiny spaces over the last eight years. I refuse to give up my clothes and definitely not my shoes just because I live in small spaces. I have a storage container in the lot for things that aren't needed at the time in my home.
The same for your craft supplies and power tools! I have a similar cabinet like your two on my back porch and a storage chest (aka coffin) for gardening supplies/tools.
Tiny house living doesn't mean we have to do an extreme downsizing and give up everything.
It's all about organization and realistic editing.
I also use my one bedroom as my studio space especially during COVID when we all lost our studoo spaces.
I put my twin bed in the corner of the living/dining room combo behind a beautiful natural screen so guests don't see it or sit on it...
Tiny/small house living just requires thinking outside the box and being organized.
So glad her loft access is by stairs and not a silly ladder!
That covered front porch is everything!!! I also live in [Central] Texas and would be on that front porch all the time, especially doing certain art pieces and entertaining.

@@The-Estranged-Mom-Coach one anxiety producing situation is when you add a son and/or daughter-in-law. It’s so common to think of the MIL in a negative way, so negative treatment follows because of the negative characterization, MIL feels left, daughter-in-law or son-in-law feel defensive and then problem situations can happen. I don’t believe there’s enough discussion that the empty nester is still adjusting to a new life phase, and the bride and/or groom are also in a new life phase. Conflict is difficult to avoid. I’m dealing with a daughter-in-law that just won’t let me into her life, it’s the closest i’ve felt like a 12 year old just wanting to be liked. My goal is to never say anything because there’s nothing wrong with her, my son is happy, and who he lives with is his choice, but it is difficult with the obligatory holidays…especially since she’s decided to not like my daughter…his twin sister 😔. All women have to go through this phase, so life changing, and the young women don’t know how complex it is and that they too will go through this….such a waste of emotion. I try to just keep focused on the fun things in my life, no real solution, but I do not want to burn daylight for things I can’t change….took me awhile to move through it all…a conversation years ago with my older friend really did help, we decided people who don’t accept and move to the next life phase get stuck and don’t enjoy the new phase. I understand how difficult it is to downsize. I had beautiful art for over thirty years that my son had done & didn’t have wall space for it. So, I took photos of all of it & plan to make a wonderful album to enjoy. I wish you good luck. Thank you for a nice tour.

Brandi, this has been the most enjoyable tiny home tour that I’ve seen. You’ve shed a new light on the pros and cons of tiny houses. Thank you.

I love the laundry quote stating " I mix thing's I never thought I would " 😂 I'm now 1 person and totally relate, it's working out! Of course I'm sure we still hold back, I am not fully committed yet 😁 love your place!!

What a lovely person and she's put so much loving care into her beautiful home. I greatly appreciate how open she is about the home and her life in her community. The shared farm makes it really special.

Beautiful functional home for a senior citizen , love that there is the option to use the bedroom on the first floor too! She was very honest about the pros & cons downsizing to a tiny home. I love that they have a community garden to grow fresh food. I truly hope that she gets to live comfortably throughout her senior years in the home. I understand how challenging it is to get rid of nice things that has been accumulated in her past larger home, especially if they are sentimental and family items. She is very efficient and I love how big her bathroom is including the two separate entrances. So she can enjoy the benefit of having an attached bathroom to the bedroom and guests can also use the bathroom without going into her bedroom. Wishing her a happy , healthy life ! 😊🙏🏾❤️

Brandy, you're home is beautiful. That crazy moment paid off. As someone who also loves art and has family members and friends who are artists, wall space or lack of it is always a problem. One idea might be to rotate what you have up. Think of your home like a gallery space that changes exhibits. Where I live, cafes often have art which is also changed from time to time. All the best.

God bless her! She was a pleasure to listen to. An individual who was transparent and honest and succinctly articulated her thoughts. Beyond the amazing job she did with the tiny house, what blew me away was the fact that she regularly cooked for her neighbors. A special individual indeed! May her Parkinson’s stay under control for a long time. My father had same.

This is the FIRST tiny home that I have seen that was so thoughtfully designed to actually LIVE in! It did not seem cramped at all! I guessed she was a tall woman like myself...maybe 5'10' or so, and she had plenty of room! I have always dreamed of living tiny, because long ago I learned this.. "The more stuff you own, the more it owns you". ,Because you work hard to earn money to buy it, word hard to maintain it & take care of it, and when you go on vacation you have to have someone watch it & you worry about 'what ifs" etc. So in essence...you become a slave to your possessions. I also learned that there is a huge difference between WANT & NEED, and that LESS stuff means MORE freedom. So I guess what I want to say is I really admire her for doing that.

I am from Eastern Europe, and in east European cities /towns, 37 sqm apartment downtown is a great studio/bachelor apartment! A smaller space makes it necessary to be tidy, organized with less clutter. The house to me looks well designed, well-organized, with style,. All best to the owner!

    • @redellepl
      @redellepl 2 года назад +1

Exactly! In my country flats prices are so incredibly crazy, that even for this 37 sqm you pay way too much (I mean for owning a flat, not renting).

Loved your honest but tactful comments about things in the house that didn’t quite meet your expectations. Also, that you were still struggling with downsizing and purging your things. Loved your honesty and refreshing remarks. I totally can relate about letting go, and the $100 here, $100 there. It’s 2 years since this video was made. I hope and pray you’re still able to live and manage your Tiny Home, and to keep traveling. May the Lord bless you.
