@@Louis-ej1lx A massive flyover for someone's birthday is "flying anyway"? Also, who gives a flying fack about Britains ancient military glory. The UK's own guys said if they engaged in a solo war vs Russia, they would run out of ammunition in 2 months. Thats like saying we kicked everyone's ass back then if you are a Roman... nobody cares.

It's the Royal Cypher. It used to be ER during Queen Elizabeths reign. But now changed to CR for King Charles

@@tomnps1671 Correct: it stands for Charles Rex (King Charles). ER formerly stood for Elizabeth Regina (Queen Elizabeth).

It is the Royal Cypher - "CR" - which stands for 'Carolus Rex' the Latin for King Charles.
So when they are telling us all not to fly, here are 70 aircraft flights for no actual purpose......

No Andy they all have a very specific purpose - to defend our country and memorialise the sacrifice of the greatest generation in WWII.
The flypast is their salute to their commander in chief and Sovereign to whom every pilot swears allegiance.
@@1chish Wow there's me thinking this was to celebrate some rich guys birthday. I never realised it was to memorialise the lost in WW2 or that we were actually under attack at the time and needed defending. My bad there....
Be honest, it was just a jolly that squandered a lot of airframe hours at £xxxx per hour and served no real purpose but was a lot of fun for those involved.
@@andyf10 You literally cannot squander airframe hours. All this means is the pilots get extra flight time, or less flight time later on. The first option leads to better trained pilots, the second option has no net change.
Given these aircraft can fly on 100% sustainable aviation fuel, and as previously stated, would fly anyway, the environmental impact is tiny.
