The King have never made any scandal or anything disrespectful, so the only thing people have able to make jokes about is that he is "boring". One of my very favorite parts of the entire coronation. I wish they would have left the king to enjoy the spectacular scene for a bit longer. One could see he didn't want to abandon his troops, he wanted to watch & listen. Well done to all military personnel involved in making the coronation run like clockwork. Bravo & kudos.
Totally agree, as King I would have told that Guard, "hold on", but its all about the schedule, the flyover was on its way, but I'm sure they could have done a loop, just think the Trooping the Colour & Kings Birthday marches
The King looked his most “Kingly” here, when you see him examine all of those who cheered with such enthusiasm. How wonderful to see His Majesty get chills during the moment, I’d have felt much similar. Great Job to the UK and Commonwealth people and the BRF for sharing this with the world. It was moving from start to end; and amazing to see live.
When giving a command in drill, it's usually predicated with "Parade", "Troop", "Guard", "Company", etc. How very seldom is a command ever given as "His Majesty's Armed Forces". Pretty darn cool.
I rose at 3:30 AM Central Standard Time in the American Midwest to watch the entire Coronation of Charles III Live...just as I stayed up through the night to watch Charles wed Diana back in 1981. But throughout the entirety of the 4 hour or more Coronation event, THIS was by far the most stirring, the most emotional, and the most impressive part. Watching these thousands of Men and Women representing the British and Commonwealth armed forces from around the World congratulate their King and cheer for him was outstanding. Simply outstanding! Apart from the fact much of the traditional coronation event had its strict rules and procedures to follow keeping it ancient and religous. THIS however, was purely human and full of emotion. I just loved this part of the ceremony more than any other part of King Charles wonderful day. And I would imagine THIS was the part he loved most too. I just wish we could have caught a glimpse of Seamus The Irish Wolfhound at attention with the Irish Guards barking out "Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! (woof, woof)".
