Star Wars IS "retuning" ironically...to fit the liberal Disney and Lucasfilm idea of future entertainment. "Return" won't happen because according to Disney and Lucasfilm, the Jedi never really left in the first place.
There will be hope when Disney goes bankrupt, and is forced to sell Lucasfilm to a non-American investor who'll then try to make the franchises PROFITABLE again.
The tainted must be cleansed in fire. Burn away the Sequel Trilogy, 'Star Wars Resistance', 'The Mandalorian' Season Three, 'Obi-Wan Kenobi', 'Andor', 'Ahsoka'...
Naah, Microsoft can do that just as well. Look at halo and gears of war. Or EA with battlefield, medal of honor, need for speed, mass effect. Sometimes it's just better to let something die gracefully instead of watching it's mangled body shit itself on it's deathbed.
i had this conversation with my cousin how what me and him grew up watching a decade apart was 5 times more mature then what they have now for 'adults' or 'young adults' like everything these days is so dumbed down it's insane to me.
Batman the Animated Series was brilliant for this. It was gritty and just dark enough and handled all the character's (even the lesser ones) with reverence. It never preached anything to the audience and there were times where Batman could have easily failed. Any modern interpretation can't hold a candle to it, the plot armor is ridiculous.
Thank you for giving us a voice. The original Star Wars fans who now mourn their beloved franchise denatured and zombified. We share nothing with the Star Wars fans of today.
@SomeOrangeCat no one tells you to dislike it. Just like you have your thoughts on the Disney SW, so do we, and a good chunk of us don't like the new SW.
This is depressing, and I do not want to be depressed about Star Wars and Star Trek for the rest of my life! Some original fans and their kids like Rogue One and Andor, so maybe old Star Wars fans and new Star Wars fans share more than you think. I was born in 1998, but my mom still helped me watch all six Star Wars movies before we watched the seventh one.
Honestly I could just throw up every single time these Disney Star Wars shills pretend to give a single ounce of emotion… Disney has cultivated the perfect breed of fanboys, to the point they could just strap them to a chair, put in John Williams’ original score and just have a slide show of Star Wars characgers running forever and the “fans” will not complain whatsoever.
Too bad he's a prequel hater, the original losers who led to Star Wars being owned by Disney. It's why groups like Red Letter Media loved TFA when it came out, they just wanted George to keep redoing the original trilogy.
"He Vadered", and "it's red" Are actual quotes from people "reacting to" and reviewing Ahsoka. Disney Star Wars is dead, but the original will never die.
Something that has bothered me a bit in this new season is why don’t they ask Luke, Han or Leia for help. I mean for the rest of the galaxy Luke walked in handcuffed into the emperors throne room with the two most powerful people in the galaxy and was the only one to come out alive. He, Han and Leia did far more damage to the empire than pretty much any other group. If the these people in these post ROTJ series are actually facing enemies that pose a threat to the republic then they should call in the big guns.
Jar Jar Abrams told us why years ago.... when Luke enters the room, he takes over the scene. all their new trash cannot compete--and is exposed as inferior to Lucas's vision. And so they try to kill Lucas's vision.
I bailed out after TFA. Saw in theatres, I didn’t hate it but I remember not walking away as excited as I thought I would be… didn’t even watch TLJ or TRoS
@@Banooneri remember by the time TLJ came out, the reviews were so shit I just assumed it wasn’t worth my time. Maybe I should have watched it once but as far as I’m concerned it’s 1-6 (and I liked rogue one too)
Same! I saw reviews of TLJ and was like "Why is Leia flying in space like Mary Poppins? Who is this purple-haired bitch and Where is Admiral Akbar!? I'm out! This is stupid!"
10:52 That's because Filoni and modern Lucasfilm want to replace Luke, Han, and Liea. Not just that they want to knock them down to build their God awful characters up.
Isn't that how things are done? You hand the reigns of a multi billion dollar IP to a guy that's unproven and still learning on the job. Can't see how that could possibly go wrong.
And its so great for the director in training to have a built in audience that will watch any rubbish they put out, right??? ....right???? ......"where are all the audiences?....."
@@torq21they are doing the same with Walt Disney's crown jewel, Snow White. They don't even have a story or script, but they already shot it and are re-editing every week depending which bimbo is kissing his ass this week
He really should have been an assistant or bene mentored, and not just given 200 million. Because most people struggle to get $2, and then there's Dave.
There are not enough funko pops collectors to sustain this franchise. Apparently, toy sales have fallen by nearly 65%, and we all know the box office and viewership has done much the same. The losers might have won, but they have only won a sinking ship. And I can't help but revel in that a bit.
The Prequels I like them, but their not masterpieces, but you could respect the effort and feel the love and passion baked into them and they still felt like Star Wars and they did not kick you in the nuts. Disney Star Wars is a parody at best of Star Wars and made with no passion and feels like someone has come and kicked you hard in the balls constantly.
@@_eggers I don't know? More like Disney came to you speaking sweet words about the original trilogy and promising you they will bring the same to star wars. Then when your thinking about it, they suddenly kick you in the nuts repeatedly, laughing at you and screaming' The force is Female!'. The Prequels was just Lucas accidently knocking you.
The mandalorian worked at first because it was a complete side story that had little to do with the main events of the films or the cartoons and they should have kept it that way. Then they went for the Star Wars MCU and started mixing things up making a mess.
For me personally, it’s not so much excitement at seeing Anakin but more so my prequel-era-loving-heart being so happy that Hayden’s actually getting his time in the sun.
I agree with this, except when I realise that if they really cared about Hayden, the Lucasfilm team would have made sure he got more work outside Star Wars. I mean Disney has so much power, all you'd need to do is send an email to a casting director and boom. More work.
@@rubydoo3307 I mean, he has been in quite a few movies outside of Star Wars since the prequels, usually smaller indie-type flicks but it's not as if he hasn't worked since then. He seems to be doing pretty well for himself, maybe he just prefers to live a quieter life on his farm with his daughter and honestly, with everything he probably went through in the 2000s, I completely respect that if that's the case.
The difference between Disney Star Wars and the “ cartoons “ you mentioned, at least one of them, actually fix many prequel issues and flaws that were seen by most people. Dare I say, it was a good show and it fit with the established continuity.
It is sad to see new SW fans claim that Anakin vs. Ashoka with Vader silhouette is the best scene in SW ever. They did not experience real star wars scenes of Luke looking at the binary sunset, or vader's famous line "i am your father" then luke screaming "no" with a amputated hand, or even obi wan shouting "you were the chosen one!" while burning anakin shouting "i hate you!".
So many iconic moments and their favorite scene is Anakin randomly turning Vader and fighting Ahsoka? Why does he even become Vader there? Makes it seem like in the movies he could just snap with ease. Palpatine didn’t need to spend 10-15 years of grooming Anakin and playing both sides for a war. He could just bring in a box of donuts to the Jedi, they all eat them without Anakin, Sheev tells Anakin they didn’t save him one, then boom Anakin’s Vader. It just makes it seem like he could’ve done that because Ahsoka exists. Thank you Disney. You made stuff not matter. As long as it looks cool, then breaking canon’s fine.
It's an absolute tragedy and disgrace to the Star Wars franchise what Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson, JJ Abrams, etc have done to it. Star Wars _was_ arguably my favorite fictional universe of all time, and it's been absolutely tarnished by the low effort garbage Disney has cranked out!
John tried to do the right thing. His first 2 seasons of Mandalorian were a good start. The constant crap made me not watch andor and make it feel like a waste of time. honestly.. pop culture is dead... culture in the usa is dead... we are a totally decadent nation. EPA is after our race cars and we have zero entertainment anymore.
@johntheanimator4317 You're probably right Jon wasn't _as bad_ as the others, it's probably just recency bias on my part because Season 3 of Mando was SO FUCKING AWFUL!
We Prequel fans have mixed feelings about those films. Some of us wish the dialogue was better, but without them our memes would not exist. Jokes aside, I do genuinely love the Prequel trilogy. I did a project on them while I was a film student, and that made me love them more. They don't hold a candle to the OT, and there were very questionable moments, but it still felt like Star Wars. That's more than I can say about everything Disney has made.
They do hold a candle to the OT. They even tell a better story than the originals. If it wasn't for the PT, Star wars would just be a good vs evil story with little depth to it.
The thing is, it is ok to be fans of many eras of Star Wars! I LOVE the OT, I also love ROTS. I may not be in love with the first 2 of the prequels, but that are very important to the story as a whole. Also, those animated shows he bashes are AMAZING! However, the sequel trilogy is utter trash, and at least the first 3 episodes of Ahsoka are trash as well. The other episodes are decent at best. They striped so much personality from the characters. And, even though I am a huge fan of Rebels, there are a LOT of people who never watched it. Filoni is 100% catering to Rebels fans. My mom and I watched all of Rebels and understood a lot of the details, my dad, not at all. The best aspect of Ahsoka is Baylin Skoll! Unfortunately, these episodes will be it for the character given Ray Stevenson's unfortunate death. Sure, they could replace him with a different actor, but they would need to capture lightening in a bottle twice to be able to pull that off
Agree with you on almost everything, but the Clone Wars series was made under George despite disney cancelling it when they bought star wars and then brining it back for a final season. Clone Wars at the very least is still from George and the last thing from George.
He only had a supervisory role in it, still, a kids cartoon/ animation is not something that should be the springboard for your shows, which Disney/ Filoni decided it seems. I also don't think Filoni is anywhere near George in writing capability. I did watch the Clone Wars out of curiosity though, it has it's good ideas, but I never got attached to it like most Filoni fans. The cartoon Anakin is very contradictory to Revenge of the Sith.
The belief that the Clone Wars series was 100% a George Lucas story is a common internet fallacy, Lucas famously disagreed on many things about the plot and was straight up not involved in others, such as how he wanted Ahsoka to die (since her existance beyond Episode 3 is utter non-sense) and yet Filoni still kept his OC alive. Clone Wars is NOT a George Lucas story, it's just a bunch of his ideas reshaped by another person, and Filoni's ego has grown so huge his OCs are taking over the actual main characters' spots.
@@Nemesis_T-Type thank you for this, trying to tell Filoni fans this is like debating religion, over a cartoon. They even try hard to clain it's not a "kid show" when back in the 90's, I grew up with way better storytelling and subtle mature themes. It's a kids show and one not created by Lucas. Robot Head's views on prequels i where I disagree with him though.
*cries in the middle of my collection of Dark Horse Comicbooks from the early 2000s, Republic Commando Novels, Dark Lord, Labyrinth of Evil, and all the fantastic stuff that made up Star Wars lore before 2007...before Filoni. Before the dark times of animated bullshit...*
Yeah. Even if that kid is Force sensitive, I assumed Ahsoka was on some kind of different plane of existence and shouldn’t be able to hear the fight. Maybe a Jedi master could, but that’s it.
Old school fans should find a place to congregate and continue Old SW on their own. Leave Disney by the wayside and move on. Wouldn't want a future timeline where the Star Wars Trek didn't happen! Or the Star Trek Wars.
I appreciate that you called it. EU and not the fake name that the usurpers have given it. It is the EU not legends. The fact that Disney has money does not convince those of us who have loved it for years that it no longer counts as real Star wars. especially after the rancid maggot filled crap that they have served us and called that real Star wars
Thank you so much for acknowledging those of us who were so disgusted with TFA we waved goodbye to Disney SW. Far too many commentators give TFA a pass when it was total horses-.
personally i was underwhelmed by TFA it was a crappy rehash of a new hope, but i kinda let it slide at the time for attempting to introduce star wars to a new audience, but sitting through the last jedi was torture, and i retroactively hate tfa and have had nothing but contempt and disgust for all things disney star wars, never wasted my time with bothering to watch the last one. disney may own the ip but nothing they have made with it is canon to me, star wars will always be everything made before disney bought it
I was there with you pal. I left Force Awakens calling it a load of shit and was moaned at for 'hating everything'. I have long felt vindicated. Sadly I have quite a lot of friends that still really think this star wars stuff is great and watch religiously.
@@kilajuyI quite liked TFA originally. It took some time for it to hit me that we'd never see the big 3 onscreen together again, but there was still the promise of seeing Luke shine in episode 8. I also handwaved the ANH rehash elements of TFA, hoping that it was acting as a soft reboot of sorts which would introduce new fans to old Star Wars while leaving room for something new & exciting to come after. Boy, was I ever wrong about that.
@@kr00ked1 every once in a while, just to make sure I’m not dreaming, I’ll rewatch the TFA trailer. I remember why people were excited. It appeared promising. But, it was a woke suckfest and I stood by my criticisms. It wasn’t until later after the SW fever subsided that perceptions realigned, and yes, vindication is a great descriptive for that feeling. I’d probably only add ‘grateful’ as well. Grateful people opened their eyes and finally admitted it!
@@toddmcintosh2685 many still won't admit it though...in fact the best I've gotten IRL, from those who were in denial, was a tepid 'yeah they weren't great' years later after loving them when they first came out. Propaganda and goodwill to an IP can be a hell of a drug. It repeated again when the Mandalorian came out. A very, very mediocre show that people inexplicably loved. I still know girls that worship at the altar of baby yoda. 🙄 God help us all. Moving off Star Wars, there's a similar problem with the terrible, terrible, terrible Harry Potter movies (except the 3rd one). It's like the Emperor has no clothes. Good books. Terrible movies.
The prequels only contributed positively to the story of the originals. They enriched the story, had some super creative ideas, a grand feel and some really good stuff. Their heart was in the right place, even if they had flaws and were not great FILMS. The sequels and these new shows only destroy and harm the original story, so of course people are going to have a problem with them more than the prequels.
@@davidbowles7281 A. He wasn't Darth Vader then. B. He wasn't incompetent?? He was an intelligent brave child that won a horrific pod race, destroyed a Droid ship, then he grew up and trained becoming legendary and known across the galaxy as a hero, he fought Sith defeating Dooku, thousands of battle droids, became one of the greatest star fighter pilots in the galaxy, RIZZED a Queen, wiped out the Jedi temple, killing Mace Windu, then fought Obi-Wan and almost won. He was the most promising and potential filled young man that accomplished so much but eventually turned to the dark side as he was still overly emotional and these strong feelings were manipulated by the most evil being in the galaxy at the time. C. His character was hotheaded but still had some wisdom and discipline. He was just unconventional due to his insane talent. Everything that occurred was within a reasonable character. D. All of this emphasises he was the chosen one meant to being balance to the force, they show his potential and power, as a hero, then his fall, and it makes the 6th movies ending so much better because you see Anakin really was the chosen one and destroyed the Sith including himself and brought balance to the force ending the story... until disney.
@@thirsty7281 Using the point that he "rizzed" a queen when that is one of the most memed complaints about the prequels is just ironic. "Anakin really was the chosen one and destroyed the Sith including himself and brought balance to the force ending the story... until disney" Sidious also came back in Legends, after Anakin's sacrifice. It's like you people have selective hearing. Legends was canon for its time. And everyone liked it. What makes that one worse is that he came back like 3 or 5 years after ROTJ. They don't waste your time when telling you that Anakin's sacrifice was useless. And they brought him back using the same method and style that Disney Sidious came back with. Yet Disney doing it is the problem. Even after Sidious is killed, there are multiple Sith that emerged after his death in Legends (Lumiya, Krayt, Nihl and more). There's even Darth Caedus, who's basically a discount Anakin Skywalker if he was smarter I don't even like the sequels. But every mf that complains about Disney SW seems to have Alzenheimers because yall forget that Legends had the same issues yet was loved
@@willisstillhere8846 Maybe because they did it better and actually added to the story with better stuff. Not just "somehow Palpatine returned and Rey is now the actual chosen one woo hoo". Also buddy... I've never read Legends and they never got made into movies so how could I have alzheimers if I have no idea what it is about. You just assume everyone knows every book and canonical or non-canonical addition to the franchise? No. That's for nerds. People don't like what Disney did because it was some of the most poorly written stuff in existance. Maybe people liked Legends because it was written well. It's like how people don't mind Darth Maul got brought back in the Clone Wars show because they explained it extensively, showed it had serious consequences, and then proceeded to make him one of the best characters in the show which was awesome even if bringing him back was bs to begin with. You get a pass if you actually do something with it. Not use it to insult the audience.
Star Wars is like playing a procedurally generated roguelike. It's neat the first few times, but then you start noticing it's the exact same thing over and over again but now there's a slightly different hallway.
Meh, I feel that analogy would be more complete if you factor in free updates that screw up the core gameplay loop in various ways, making even the base game harder to enjoy. that sameyness can be enjoyable, so long as it has a solid gameplay loop and doesn't get too high on it's own farts.
A glaring point that you brought up, and that has always been in the back of my mind, is “Where is Luke in all of this?”. Like, why isn’t Luke a MAJOR player in a potentially galaxy-crippling dilemma? It’s not like Ashoka doesn’t know Luke. I mean, what was the point of establishing that Ahsoka knows Luke if she couldn’t rely on him to help out when there’s such a massive Galaxy wide threat? Did no one tell Luke?
Same for Leia as well. She's supposed to guide the New Republic which has been formed newly. Why did it turn out to be the same mess as the Old Republic? Why are all the Councillors so dumb ? What is Leia doing to improve the state of the Galaxy, since clearly she's doing nothing
So the New Order can be a thing. Their destruction of the original trilogy will desecrate the entirety of the original series, so fanboys can pretend this was all planned and is some new visionary masterpiece.
This all proves to me that people today have been groomed to like shallow meaningless media. No one thinks anymore. The idea is : shovel more crap into my eyes because I love what I don’t have to think about. Shiny jangling keys had replaced thought provoking stories and characters. Something has to happen. I’ll do my part to bring back good stories and good characters.
Since I have so few followers, I have no real problem saying that the "fans" shown fawning over Ahsoka make me uncomfortable and embarrassed. I love Star Wars, but I keep hearing "fans" tell me, a LIFELONG fan, that I have no place, my opinions are stupid, "old" Star Wars is problematic, and I'm bitterly holding on to the past. I enjoyed the prequels because at the time I thought THAT was the last Star Wars we were ever getting. None of those movies are in my top three Star Wars films. I had hope that something was developing when The Force Awakens came out even though I didn't like what became of the story Disney wanted to tell. I agree that the Star Wars I loved is probably doomed. We lost Carrie Fisher and ended up losing hope as well.
The Disney fans are retarded. To be an old Star Wars fan you appreciated the quality of the movies, the mythical meaning of it, and to be a true nerd you would know all the lines and intricate details of the characters, planets and plot lines of the books. Now the old EU has been nuked by Disney, and they are pandering to the cartoon raised kidults, it feels weird to have all that knowledge tossed aside. It feel like us fans of the old material have got the Alderaan treatment lol. Now all you have to do is remark upon how cute Baby Yoda is and how great Ashoka is (which she is not). Literally you just have to repeat back exactly what you see on the screen with fake enthusiasm - 'omg thats thrawn!!!'. The movies deliberately killed off Luke Leia and Han and any offspring to completely erase any meaningful connection to the original films. So there is really no reason to care about Star Wars anymore.
I knew Star wars was dead when I slept through the rise of skywalker. Still haven't seen it completely. But those recliner seats in the theatre were great

Dave Filoni literally has never produced, directed, or written anything by himself that is anywhere close to George Lucas' work. (That includes The Clone Wars as Lucas was still involved and his project) It truly is a disgrace when I see so many Star Wars fans, even of old, saying Dave Filoni is saving Star Wars and his work is basically George Lucas Star Wars coming back. Like, no. Dave Filoni's track record is: -Mandalorian season 3 (Which might be studio interference because I believe John Favreau is why Season 1-2 of Mandalorian were good, not Filoni) -Boba Fett -Ahsoka
I agree. The Prequels would have been so much better if Lucas let someone else direct, and punch up the dialogue. Lucas was always terrible at dialogue, but amazing when it came ti the big picture.

I grew up with The Clone Wars series. To this day I think it has some really amazing arcs, animation, and production quality. Some arcs touched on the philosophy and overall fallout that comes from war while others were just fun and captivating fights to watch. The Ahsoka series, and the rest of Disney, have none of that charm. The only excitement I have seeing Hayden Christensen on the screen again is because he actually trained how to fight, which means there's at least one person on set who knows what they're doing. Here's hoping he got a fat check for having to put up with this trainwreck.
You know why TCW still holds up? Because George was still involved. People give Filoni all the credit for that series, but he was just one of many people working with George at the time. I think it's starting to become apparent that he wasn't the apprentice he's made himself out to be in public.
@@ioncewasmikey Yeah, to be honest I don't even know what Filoni even did to make the series, seems like he was more of a hands-off director, which invalidates the entire purpose of having a director.
@witherwolf3316 For Ahsoka, you mean? He's credited as sole writer for every episode and is listed as director for a couple episodes if I remember correctly. He definitely has directing credit on ep5, might have done the premier as well.
I was in front of the theater at 9 pm at night to stand in the middle of night in a huge line to see the empire strikes back in the morning at 9 am. I almost soiled myself when the Star Wars theme hit the screen like a hammer. The audience was screaming,I was screaming! Everyone was tired and weary but then the show started. Today I skipped the rise of skywalker and pretty much all star wars. The lightsabers look fat and ugly and can’t even kill anyone anymore today and I’m just done.
@DArtelius I keep running into people that suddenly are always talking about Ahsoka 😂 definitely all normies but wow they're insistent it's so good lol
Daves smart, he knows the company isnt big on the legacy characters because the execs need something to claim as their own. At the same time he is turning EU material and George's ideas he never got to put in the movies into canon. He really loves Star Wars and is making gallons of lemonade with the giant lemon that Disney has handed him after nearly destroying the franchise with terrible sequels.
Perfectly summed up on the prequels. There’s still at the very least some semblance of Star Wars. They’re not for me once I became an adult but this Disney trash now feels like something completely different.
My wife bought me a Yoda Funko Pop and I had to tell her p!ease no more. At least Yoda has a sculpted head most are just indistinguishable lumps of plastic.
I had this same experience in Halo... They defaced a classic and make it unrecognizable, then all the vicious idiots that dont know anything about anything kept telling me 'no this is good!' compared to what? There was so much potential in all of these stories, they all could have been something majestic. But instead they were all handed over to the unworthy for them to masturbate with... How great these people are stroking their egos with things they never earned...

@@Emanon... Halo was the first story I ever truly fell in love with. The first trilogy of books were the first books I ever read for fun... That was pretty intense for me as a kid. In a way today I recognize it as a reflection of reality. It was based on the biblical accounts, the Flood, the Ark, the rebirth of civilization, we have lots of that in our real world history, like Atlantis. When I look at actual history I do get the feeling that something similar to it really happened and that this is just a vague retelling of things we know that were long buried in our genetic memory. 343 entered the scene essentially rewriting 99% of all world building and canon. Joseph Statin who was the lead story teller had a plan to end the series in H2, but they didnt have the time to finish, so it was stretched into a trilogy. I saw the original storyboards, and the forerunners were indeed human. This was a major revelation for the Arbiter at the end of the series. But then Statin opted for mystery, because often a fans mind is more entertained with fan theories then knowing the facts. Then a bunch of assholes come in and totally redo everything from scratch and done care. the H3 terminals said that the flood was 'extra-galactic' the forerunners didnt know where it came from. but then they turned around and so bleh, the forerunners made it by betraying the not-forerunners... retards... they were so uncreative that they essentially told the same exact story a second time while shitting on the first...

Kathleen talks about Filoni in a way that reminds me of how she once sung Rian Johnson's praises. Considering where his trilogy ended up, here's hoping for a repeat performance with Filoni's movie.
I remember being a kid and seeing Star Wars for the first time ever. It was A New Hope and throughout the movie I could actually feel connections to the characters, feel the stress of the imminent doom of the death star, actually feeling the bad guy of the story (Darth Vader) was the bad guy with his intimidating armor and voice. It also showed a new cool aspect The Force! it was my happy place, A movie I could watch and enjoy every single time. With that being said it's very upsetting to see people destroy what I grew up with and love. No one should ever be in charge of a project they don't even understand. That's like a rock being in control of an airplane. It can't function. Very upsetting past few years.
The fact that grown “men” film themself crying trash Star Wars shows and they talk about Dave Faloni as if he’s the second coming of Christ is just beyond me
Star Wars WAS my childhood....none of these weeping fat snowflakes could have been affected by anything as much the as 5 year old me was seeing that Star Destroyer going on forever on screen back in ol' 77...
I kinda just treat the sequel trilogy and anything new Disney makes like a memory, and forget it exists. As far as I’m concerned, Star Wars ended after skywalker redeemed his father and went back to Endor to party with teddy bears
this is what's so hard to understand. 90% of their movie fans has never seen or heard about Ahsoka or TCW, so it makes absolutely no sense to make the people who grew up watching the Clone Wars (people born after 2003-04) their main demographic to pander to. and the ratings show it. also doesn't help that they've already tried to alienate most of their fans by pandering to a female audience, an audience that has never cared about Star Wars
Hayden was in JUMPER, Vanishing on 7th St, and Shattered Glass. As well as many other movies that didn't do well, but I loved. The Prequels were great movies in that they established SO much of star wars that we all now take for granted. Like you said, great ideas, poor execution.

@@marsoh7972 It just proved that the obsession of those OT super fanboys/George Lucas haters clouded their judgment to the point where they had to look themselves in the mirror and take responsibility for their actions by the end of the sequel trilogy. Whether they want to admit it or not, Jar-Jar Abrams was the ultimate manifestation of who they were; an OT purist who thought that he knew Star Wars better than George Lucas; rejected his outlines and input to give the people what they thought Star Wars should be.
That's a good point that Luke isn't involved in fighting someone who's supposed to be such a huge threat as Thrawn. Not to mention Leia, Han, Chewie, Lando, Wedge etc. All of those characters are still around at this point, heck even the Ewoks could throw some rocks and sticks at him.
then they are just following the EU and they need new actors for all those character. That is messy and would have been fine over time but noo they need "Rey Sue". There own Luke. The Mandalorian proves they could have told new Star Wars stories it doesn't have to be prefect it just has to be good without ruining old characters.
Well yeah? Basically no one had contact with Luke in that time period, Thrawn was beaten when Luke was like 9, and he had no proof Thrawn was still alive, I’m sure had Thrawn returned Luke would have come to save the others and stuff.
@@BarneyisJehova Um, what? Thrawn is registering as a threat and is said to be by Ahsoka, the only other Jedi around who has been shown to be in contact with him. Your argument is ridiculous. Luke would have every reason to be involved. You could argue he shouldn’t go outside the galaxy (as stupid as that idea is by itself; the Star Wars galaxy is plenty big), but before then, there’s no reason for him to not be helping prevent a major threat from returning. Your argument also shows the general problem with the show. Thrawn doesn’t come across as a big threat because he’s not done much in Disney Star Wars, whereas in the EU where he originated, he was well known for being competent and proves it really quickly. That doesn’t justify Luke not helping (since the person that would be saying Thrawn is dangerous is Ahsoka), but it does show that the whole story is more than a bit contradictory.
I gave up in 2015 when disney tricked me into paying to go watch a New Hope remake. It was evident right form the start they had no new ideas or clue what to do with the series.
I will say, from what i’ve seen of Ahsoka (rip Ray Stevenson) the only part i liked was Hayden returning, and not because of the weird time travel bs but just because his lightsaber choreography was nice to see. It’s the single first time since ROTS that we saw proper saber combat
@@GREENHOUSE_LIGHTSHOW I loved it when Vader made his entrance and said its Vading time and just vadered all over the place. I clapped and cried when the sexy alien padawan, never mentioned or alluded to in the Star Wars saga took a central and integral role in this universe and replaced the OTs main characters place.
Ahsoka should've be some grand adventure where she shines with a memorable arc but instead its more member berries and key jangling. This is where Star Wars has been for the last few years, its a shame.
We haven't lost so much as witnessed the inevitable demise of a franchise. They all perish eventually, it is the way of things. Star Wars had settled into the autumn of its existence when acquired by the Necromancer's apprentice. The apprentice killed the franchise in a three part public execution. And then it raised the cadaver in the form of streaming shows. It looks like Star Wars at the door...but its flesh is rotting. Soon it will be completely unrecognizable.
Literally anything new these days just makes me realize why older people hate on younger generations. Like I always remind myself that it's their time now let them tint their own nostalgia glasses, but it's really hard when their material is constantly crapping on what made us happy, and seems to subliminally convince them to do the same and shamelessly deny its flaws
I feel bad for the younger generations, they get spoonfed a lot of misinformation from woketards and leftoids and femcels and that shapes the way they see the world.
We all have certain point of views and biases. But we have to understand each other. May be Star Wars and Disney will change when the entire world itself is changed. “If it makes you happy, then it's good''
But but but Anakin showed up! Glup Shitto showed up! Two women fought with lightsabers! How is that not compelling storytelling? The truth is the only thing that Filoni can seemingly do anymore is jingle keys in front of what's left of their dwindling audience. Someone showing up from a prior series is just window dressing if the setup as to why that person is showing back up is weak.
Kennedy BRAGGED about how Christensen would NEVER be invited back to Star Wars, BUT that was prior to episode 7. Sounds like she changed her cash cow tune

I like how Anakin on Ahsoka is "OMG THE ANAKIN WE KNOW AND LOVE" yet you somehow won't find people praising the "Anakin we know and love" showing up at the end of Return of the Jedi.
The main question I have about Dave Filoni is that if he is so wonderfully talented, then why has he spent his entire career in George Lucas' shadow? Doesn't he have original ideas of his own? Or is his Star Wars fanfic all there is? I believe that if he was truly as creative as he gets credit for, then he wouldn't be satisfied to spend his life riding Lucas' coat tails. He would long to strike out on his own and create his own original epic story that has nothing to do with the Star Wars universe.
My god, you are right. After seeing Book of Boba Fett I knew myself that they were just using these shows to make live action versions of the cartoon. And there just is nothing new anymore. I was like, oh yeah we saw Anakin in Obiwan. What's the deal?
Star wars died in 1997 with George's bastardisation of A New Hope. Now it's a cycle of digging up the corpse doing ever more unspeakable things to and burying it again, over and over. The grief never ends.
The prequels weren't great films, but the OT was also quite bad. Empire's dialogue is just as bad as the prequel's, it's just delivered with more emotion by more convincing actors, but the lines themselves are just as cringe. People act like Empire is one of the best films ever created, when in reality, it was just good for the time and is decent at best now. When you start breaking it down, it does not hold up as well as we remember, but we'd rather shit on the new stuff than try to ruin our own childhoods.
I think the you nailed it. The problem is most of the original fans actually grew up and our enthusiasm for the films matured as well. The few of the second or third generation that had the enthusiasm passed on to them organically pre Disney, via VHS/DVD, heirloom toys, or actually cracking a book also despise what this has become. This "Cult" as you put so well refuse to grow up at all and just want to wallow around in self admiration.
Right now, George Lucas is rolling in his Skywalker Ranch office. Not enough Flameout in the galaxy to make him forget, ever selling Star Wars to Disney.
Well, after what Kathleen Kennedy has done to Star Wars, Bicycle Race by Queen has become more fitting than ever. That being said, It is not all doom and gloom. Good animators and fans are still working on their own versions of Star Wars... All of which tell the Sequels and Kathleen Kennedy to take a hike off a bridge.
The goose that laid the golden egg. Disney had it. They decided to wring its neck, pluck it and burn it in the oven. It's gone forever. You had one chance in all of eternity with this. I still blame TLJ. TFA was like a psycho ex saying she's changed. Trying to win you back and showing you all the nice times you had together. Then you remember why you broke up to begin with. She's a TLJ. A massive one. Since you left, she's changed for the worse and doesn't have any morals/rules anymore. She's even worse now. She acts completely differently and even spits in your face with a Holdo Manoeuvre™. Star Wars is gone. And yes Luke, it's really gone. There are no new stories to tell. The ones they are telling break the universe more and more. A galaxy ocean wide that's barely puddle deep.

"He Vadered" really does sum it all up, doesn't it?
Something that has bothered me a bit in this new season is why don’t they ask Luke, Han or Leia for help. I mean for the rest of the galaxy Luke walked in handcuffed into the emperors throne room with the two most powerful people in the galaxy and was the only one to come out alive. He, Han and Leia did far more damage to the empire than pretty much any other group. If the these people in these post ROTJ series are actually facing enemies that pose a threat to the republic then they should call in the big guns.
Who cares Filoniverse is bad and Star wars canon ends with return of the Jedi.

At least it was ONE, coherent trilogy that invented a lot of positive things for the SW universe.
The prequels were a kick in the nuts from behind. Disney Wars was a kick in the nuts I at least saw coming

Episode III was awesome, as good as the original movies.
The mandalorian worked at first because it was a complete side story that had little to do with the main events of the films or the cartoons and they should have kept it that way. Then they went for the Star Wars MCU and started mixing things up making a mess.

Or the throne room scene from Return of the Jedi.
They do hold a candle to the OT. They even tell a better story than the originals. If it wasn't for the PT, Star wars would just be a good vs evil story with little depth to it.
Speak for yourself the prequels are masterpieces.
Except Rogue One and the final arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars I would add
Sure, they could replace him with a different actor, but they would need to capture lightening in a bottle twice to be able to pull that off
For some reason people can't speak for themselves. I love the prequels. No mixed feelings.

Sidious also came back in Legends, after Anakin's sacrifice.
There's even Darth Caedus, who's basically a discount Anakin Skywalker if he was smarter
I don't even like the sequels.
My brain will officially be going back to 2012. None of this happened.
If the predicted end of world had happened in 2012...
In the next TV show they will have someone explain that Luke was too busy searching the galaxy for students to attend his Jedi academy.
Probably too busy stocking up on green milk and thinking about murdering his own nephew in his sleep cause he had a few bad thoughts.
Because Luke is old, no one wants CGI Luke.
The point about the old fans were also film fans is an excellent point.
''If one is to understand the great mystery, one must watch all its aspect. Not just the dogmatic narrow view of a weeb and soyfan.
As the ratings show, no one has won.

Dave Filoni literally has never produced, directed, or written anything by himself that is anywhere close to George Lucas' work. (That includes The Clone Wars as Lucas was still involved and his project)
It truly is a disgrace when I see so many Star Wars fans, even of old, saying Dave Filoni is saving Star Wars and his work is basically George Lucas Star Wars coming back.
Like, no.
Dave Filoni's track record is:
-Mandalorian season 3 (Which might be studio interference because I believe John Favreau is why Season 1-2 of Mandalorian were good, not Filoni)
-Boba Fett
-Ahsoka

There was so much potential in all of these stories, they all could have been something majestic. But instead they were all handed over to the unworthy for them to masturbate with... How great these people are stroking their egos with things they never earned...
343 defaced Halo, before they made the horrible show. I feel the same about Halo as I do about Diablo, Star Wars or Marvel: I really don't care anymore, and I couldn't be happier.
Me too, at least some of the books are good and a bunch of the lore is, but 343 has sloowly been like Lucasfilm, they even have their own Filoni.
@@ArgentWolf95 343 rewrote 99% of everything... making the forerunners non human basically eliminated the human covenant war because the prophets realized that humans were living forerunners and how it would descend their whole social order into chaos. so they moved to have all humans killed... you cant change that one little detail without changing ALL HISTORY within a story... and its disgusting that lazy, untalented, unworthy people always get control of things they never earned...

Um, what?

The few of the second or third generation that had the enthusiasm passed on to them organically pre Disney, via VHS/DVD, heirloom toys, or actually cracking a book also despise what this has become.
