Disney's flagship Star Wars show and Dave Filoni’s dream job, Ahsoka has finished. And somehow I think it’s the most poorly-written story Lucasfilm has produced. Ahsoka forgets how to use her spaceship. Grand Admiral Thrawn turns into Dr Evil. And Sabine proves again that she is one of the worst people in the galaxy. Oh and zombies. Kathleen Kennedy has all her hopes riding on Dave Felon to save Star Wars. Is that a mistake?

@@AliceBowie It is amazing how just a few tiny tweaks to this story could have made it work. It is even more amazing that no producer or director could be bothered to suggest them to Mr. Filonius. Just like with The Marvels. So this is clearly a systemic Disney problem, not just one of their studios.
wait a second.....Sabine is the one responsible for the rise of the "First Order" which then completely destroyed an entire Star System and billions of people? how is she supposed to be a likable protagonist once the dots are connected? She's legit worse than Darth Vader and Darth Sidious combined.
She's completely unlikable anyway. No dots necessary.
Yup. Pretty much.
Not that she was likable before really.

Hey don't be so hard on Sabine.. she did it all for a.. PLATONIC FRIEND...
It MIGHT be better understood if Ezra WAS her lover or her actual brother... But this is the sexless loveless post modern times we're talking about, how silly of me!
After calling Ahsoka a "Ronin", he should have called Sabine a "Seal team 6 operator".
Does that make Thrawn a Retail Manager?

I'm so glad Disney is stupid enough to go after Matt and Tray. Proof that we can take a joke, but Disney can't.
A while back I concluded that Disney SW isn't a story so much as a collection of cool-sounding remarks patched together across randomly-occurring scenes, intended for people with zero attention span. If you take every line and every scene as an individual existent and not parts of a coherent whole, it "makes more sense". And this does appeal to people who have never had to employ their long-term memories to retain information, with Alexa, Siri, and Wikipedia at their fingertips.
It not only appeals to those people it actually makes regular people dumber
That's how "creatives" work nowadays, alas. They think of cool individual moments but they don't make sense if they're strung together into a story.
It's because they're all hoping the content will go viral on TikTok (scenes) and Twitter (dialogue)
"Cool sounding" is a bit generous.

There is a profound reason why more people responded positively to Andor over Ahsoka.
And it's because no matter what, bad writing never wins.
Andor is amazing... like Rebels. Ashoka needs work...
Nothing hurt me more than Ashoka’s sword fighting… you’re telling me the lady who was trained by the greatest duelist in the galaxy (second only to Mace Windu) fights like she is afraid of their weapon… and she is a grey force user meaning she pull strength from both light and dark making her extremely powerful… but she moves like a 75 year old woman walking around the mall.
Diana lee Inosanto is the daughter Dan Inosanto founder if Inosanto lacoste kali there is no way she doesnt know basics of sinawali. they definitely dropped the ball in the fight choreography
No such thing as a grey force user
Fight choreography, cgi, character design, story... How did they manage to make grown up Ahsoka look like a comedy character, or, well, cartoonishly bad in a live action? This looks like a really bad fanfiction, not a multimillion dollar series. I'm really glad I didnt follow the show really, but a legendary character like thrawn, or Ahsoka to just make these incredibly stupid mistakes is just... Disappointing.
Which is really all that can be said about Disney Star Wars at this point.
The biggest insult of Ahsoka is the final desecration of Grand Admiral Thrawn. I had no expectations that they would do his character justice but holy Sith did they really make him a bumbling buffoon
All we need now is Mini Thrawn to really make him a Dr. Evil knockoff

The last time I saw writing this bad I was watching The Last Jedi.
Ok so, I really like Thrawn. Books show he’s a tactical genius, and in rebels he is actually a relatively competent villain who tends to gain something from every loss, and only truly loses due to circumstances outside his control. Bendu, Purgil, and those under his command disobeying him. So we have a competent villain who only ever truly loses to unexpected strategies and the force. The first episode shows promise, but my hopes were dashed. The worst thing is that in theory, he has a good plan and the means to accomplish it:
-Thrawn has a way back to the galaxy.
-The new republic still relies on people who may prefer his rule over the current one.
-He has an alliance with Nightsisters, and the ability to resurrect dead troops.
-The remaining empire either is willing to accept his leadership, or respect his authority.
-Only four enemies nearby (admittedly 3 are Jedi) to deal with.
So how can you even screw that up? He sacrifices limited troops like chess pawns, including leaving three potentially valuable allies to die, and all this wasted time to load up a few coffins. But that’s just normal incompetence. There’s an episode of the Clone Wars show where a bunch of Nightsister zombies are brought to life. I bring this up because the zombies were full-sprint fast. It just makes me sad.

One of the biggest waste of potential was what Filoni did with the actress who played Morgan. Diana Lee Inosanto is a skilled martial artist and stuntwoman ... even at 57 years old, you see how she out shines Rosario during the fight scenes... to bad they killed her off
Thrawn could have packed up all the cargo years ago. It's not like he was using the space for anything else. Even if we assume the line about the loading process being finished not being a mistake it just makes it worse. He could have let the ring come down while the last pieces of cargo were being loaded while the line was said or he could have flown up to the ring immediately afterwards.

By the time they did damage their hands were in front of their faces if they weren't outright dead, the only person who could report something would be the sensor officer, but if that happened why weren't they watching the ship when it rescued them? Even the turbolaser officers would have seen the ship line of sight.

i noticed disney doesn’t let ashoka die. You hear her voice talking to rey in rise of skywalker, and i read somewhere that it was just long-distance telepathy, and a disembodied voice doesn’t necessarily mean she has died. Filoni can’t even have her be dead in a movie she doesn’t appear in!
Yeah, this depiction of Thrawn is a perfect example of "a character can only be as smart as his creator"
Do you understand how strong a woman's facial features have to be to easily see that she's black through heavy orange makeup? Strong. Really strong.
she's mocha for one. what does this have to do with anything lol
Ahsoka is everything wrong with Disney Star Wars. Not only is nothing consequential, but scenes that were established were immediately discarded for conveniences.
When Ezra pops up between those 2 stormtroopers the one the right stumbles back for no reason at all. He could've easily fire as soon as Ezra popped up cause he's at point blank range. But nope gotta stumble backwards because plot armor.
Anyone with no knowledge of Thrawn is gonna wonder why he is so important based just on this show.
There might be a season 2, but that's probably just to fulfill the terms of a contract.
Don't you love that characters can stand next to Star Destroyer blast explosions and nothing happens? Perfectly healthy!
My favorite part is when Obi wan tells Padme her bf killed a bunch of children and that he has to go kill him now and her response is basically “oh dear.”
I bet in season 2 Sabine will build a "motor" that can get them back to their galaxy by combining few items from the front pocket of her plot armor 😎 ... Cause she's sooo amazeballs 😍
The closer we get to the sequels,
the dumber the shows become
The sequels are irrelevant, and the shows that overtly lead to them are equally irrelevant
oh wow i just saw the like counter on this video flip over to 1,000! And it's only been posted for an hour! Nice! i must have been number 999...fyi youtube has a little tiny bit of animation when it gets to 1,000 that looks a little like a card flipping down. It's actually kind of cool. WELL DONE ROBOTHEAD! Thank you so much for the videos. We need your perspective and humor so badly at this point in the star wars.... "saga". Please never abandon us....you are our only hope.
The only two characters I cared about in this show: Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. Both of them were antagonists and Ray Stevenson is dead irl. Stevenson was half the reason to watch that show. As for Thran, who cares that me made it back to the Star Wars galaxy. Why? We all know he’s just gonna send two tie fighters to attack Coroscunt while he sends 29 zombie storm troopers to attack something dumb. He has no credibility!
Using the term Ronin means a direct link to planet Earth & humanity = us, living there. George was always absolutely determined that in SW there would be absolutely nothing at all that could make any such direct links to Earth & to us. The only thing allowed was that there are humans in the SW galaxy. No exact, only symbolic, historical or cultural references of any kind. And what does his "padawan learner" Dave Filoni do? Has Thrawn saying the term Ronin with the meaning it represents - to us. How can Thrawn & Ahsoka even know what a Ronin is? Have any of them been to Japan in our past?
SW is meant to be fantasy, a space saga, FAR FAR AWAY! That it's Filoni of all the other brainless & unprfessional hacks they've hired making this decision just makes it worse.
Except George was responsible for the prequels, and those had ETs species in the prequels, therefore connecting Earth to the Star Wars galaxy. But he doesn't understand his own creation.
@@theelder4797 but the events in the SW galaxy happened "a long time ago" and the Age of the Samurai (1185-1868 AD) is relatively recent in Earth-time....right? I've always assumed "a long time ago" to equal centuries or even tenths of centuries (like SW is happening during our Stone Age or similar). Or is "a long time ago" open for mystery? Either way, Filoni is still a hack.
@@HufflepuffDaddy Yeah, this isn't made for people who think about things, it's for popcorn munchers who enjoy lightsabers and 'splosions.
@@theelder4797 The ET's were just a fun gimmick as a very swift cameo, not all would even notice them, & without speaking lines. They had no impact on the plot. But the main villain verbally using the term Ronin IS a very big plot device. Sure, you are right that the ET's are indeed a connection to Earth. But plot-wise, where it MATTERS? Nope. It was a fun nod to his pal Steven & all ET fans, that's all. It had nothing else to do in TPM or SW lore in general. These are two very separate things. And I can't see at all what you mean with that this would dictate that George wouldn't know or understand his own story. A gimmick to the side that avoids all contact with plot & lead characters done on purpose rather shows that George had full knowledge of what he was doing. If any of those ET's had had any speaking lines & interacted with the main story, just as Thrawn does, then I would agree with you. But it's not at all the same thing now, is it?
What adds insult to injury, is that one of the best characters in anything Star Wars, since Disney bought it, passed away in real life. 😕
“This is not the Ahsoka you’re looking for, you can go about your business….move along.”
And that ship he stole was the same one that belonged to the evil Jedi in first episode where they used it to board and commit mass murder of New Republic personnel . Yet it somehow casually and parked in a New Republic ship again, none of it makes any sense.
I literally just finished reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Amazing book, I love C.S. Lewis, one of, if not my favorite author. I imagine the fact that he was a devout Christian would also drive these people crazy. Also, Aslan is an allegory for Jesus Christ, wonder if they even know that lol
Oh wow, it's really cemented for me how forgettable these stories and characters are. I thought Morgan was a brand new character for this series until this video reminded me that I actually saw her in Mandalorian Season 2, which wasn't even that long ago. Even as a loyal viewer Disney is still trying to make me feel stupid :(
I only remember her because she's played by Bruce Lee's niece. If she was another actress, I probably would have forgotten about her too.
Sabines actions makes me think she works undercover for the empire.
I remember my dad taking me to see the rerelease of phantom menace in 2012 or something, i really enjoy all 6 original movies, and it's sad to see the direction disney's taken with the story, if you can call it that anymore
If you watched in its theatrical release, you watched it in 1999.
another thing, most Star Wars fans have no idea how badly written teen shows for Disney channel are, so Disney Star Wars is just another wizard/witch platform for the Magic Kingdom.
It's weird how many conservatives never notice that every Disney property revolves around magic, which is something all right-minded worship/practices consider unwelcomed at best, and banished or banned at worst.
@@theghostofmaximumvolume3414 but i didn't, as i said i watched the re-release in like 2012
@@isaacforshaw7828
I would pay to see episode 3 if they re-released it today, but episode 1 has too much Jar Jar Binks, and Annie-kin Skywalker dialogue.
Every release was something special and each movie took about 3 years to make. In 2015, they had consecutive movies for 5 years until 2020 and had plans for another 5. The pandemic obvious helped killing Star Wars movies but it was mainly because of the writers. Streaming became more profitable for them so they ended up pumping out TV shows, all which weren't good. The only people watching Disney Star Wars now are the new fans that consume everything and don't care about any plot holes or contradictions. Even the toys aren't wanted and are dumped off at thrift stores and sold to liquidators
I think we all got the same shitty feeling about the last episode because they kept not explaining anything and we kept hoping it was all gonna be explained in the last episode in an hour long totally awesome action packed wrap up episode that tied everything together and introduced new mystery for next season but NOPE. AS SOON AS I HIT PLAY I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE A MASSIVE FUK YOU TO FANS😢😢😢😢😢
She isn't dead. She'll be in season 2. No one dies anymore and compared to being run through with a saber, those two scratches are nothing 😂
Thank you for your efforts Mr Head ❤
😂 Your show is so much better than anything Disney can muster
Not entirely true. There is "Andor". Well almost entirely true : there is only Andor.
Well I am certainly thankful I haven’t wasted a single second of my extremely precious time on anything after mando season 1.
It was so much more fulfilling to watch this and laugh at what would have just made me aggravated if I’d watched the show in real time 🤣😂🤣
Last episode of Mando season 2 was good 👍
Mando S2 had some moments... and the Obi-Wan show was decently fun to watch from a 'so bad it's good' perspective... but that's about where I stopped. Didn't bother with Andor or Mando S3 or Ashoka. It's clear at this point that Disney/Lucasfilm just doesn't have the talent to make good television.
A bear with a stick 😂😂😂. I can’t handle your sarcasm, im in tears 😂😂😂
This show is just one giant rip-off of better ideas. Thrawn from the old book trilogy, zombie stormtroopers from the old deathtroopers horror story, the map from treasure planet, etc.
And it's all worse than the original!
Thrawn is only smart because the story keeps telling us he's smart. The zombies in deathtroopers were actually scary and smarter than this version of Thrawn! That was one of the huge reasons they seemed unstoppable!
Thank you for watching the Ashoka series so I didn’t have to.
Why did Elsbeth instantly die from the lightsaber hit? Sabine showed us that's not a good enough reason.
Seriously that little kid that Anakin kills first, is because he was the best actor in the whole franchise.
I said at the time of Ruin's film that "once I used to worry I would die before the sequels came out and now I wish I had", now with what they have done to Thrawn I really wish I had, my only hope now is total dementia, please please wipe this shit from my brain.
She did make it like everything else, doesn’t feel like Star Wars either😂🤦🏽♂️
Awesome work Robot Head
Thanks 👍
I genuinely LOVED Clone Wars! I think some of the best moments in Star Wars are in that series. In fairness, it's not all good, but I thought much of it was beautifully written. Rebels on the other hand, I was... meh. A few good moments with some not so good. But I had high hopes for the Ahsoka series. Yikes was I wrong! They took some great characters from animated shows and turned them into slabs of wood. Ugh...
It's largely because George came up with a large majority of the storylines on The Clone Wars that the writers and Dave Filoni would flesh out under his supervision. George would then have final say and edit as he saw fit. It all came back to him.
Such a great intro with AT-AT stomping on KK’s head!;)~
Disney missed the zombie craze by 10 years lol
How was that star destroyer even able to hover? I thought Disney Star Wars ships needed fuel.
Oh, dont tell me it's running on Nightsister Magic.... 😢
Sounds good make that canon 😂😂
Witch farts, the solution to all energy crises.
I don’t think Dave is that bad, he does love Star Wars, but man he cannot direct live action 😂
He can’t write along with direct, he’s mini George in everything, the problem with the prequels is that their wasn’t someone to keep him in check, people loved the clone war’s because it was George’s baby
@@Blast1314 George was crap at dialogue, but Dave is 1000x worse at it, plus can't do plot or action or world building or character development, things George was a master at.
If he loves it so much, why does he continue to destroy it!?!
