  • Star Wars sure is annoying to hear about all the time isn't it, but here we are nearly fifty years later still endlessly discussing it. This video perfectly came together, like magic, to be finished on May 4th, but frivolous copyright claims squashed the dream. Thank you for watching, please like if you enjoyed and subscribe if you want to see more.

    I'm so glad you took a dig at Star Wars Theory, he's been trying to destroy Star Wars for years, fighting with Pablo Hidalgo, Etc, all the while riding it's coat tails into financial gain. I wish people could approach what they don't necessarily enjoy about it, like you have. Thumbs up.

    The original 1977 Star Wars remains my favorite for numerous reasons. At the time there was nothing quite like it, the story really stretched the imagination, introduced one of the best most iconic villain's in history in the form of Darth Vader, had some really strong guest cast, had a mind blowing music score, amazing affects for the time and brought the old concept of good versus evil up to date. The Disney crap is just typical 21st century kicking the dented can down the road because today's far less talented story tellers aren't capable of coming up with anything new Rogue One being an exception to that.

    Nit Pick: The movie released in theaters as just "Star Wars", at the time. It was never "The Star Wars". Lucas dropped the "The" from the title sometime during post-production, so even though crew patches etc. still had "The Star Wars" as the title, the movie was never known to the general public as anything other than "Star Wars" until Lucas re-titled it "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" on the next re-release after the Empire Strikes Back was released as "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back". I think it was about a year after ESB's release.
    Needless to say, that original movie is always the first thing I think of when I think of Star Wars.

    • @Fizz.mp4
      @Fizz.mp4  12 дней назад

      The Star Wars, to my understanding was the title Lucas had on the limited release version with the stock footage pre-visual effects and less refined editing, but for the most part I just like the clunky mouth feel of The Star Wars, it fits the more Flash Gordon, pulp-fiction elements

    • @originaldarkwater
      @originaldarkwater 12 дней назад +1

      @@Fizz.mp4 According to Wikipedia, which cites Empire of Dreams as the source, he changed it during production, so it would have never made it to anything the public ever saw. Sure, it may have still been in his "pre-visualization" version with the WWII dogfight footage culled from newsreels and other flms, but that was only ever seen by production staff and maybe his friends, like Coppola and De Palma. But if it's a name you like to use to disambiguate the original, non-special edition theatrical cut from later incarnations, especially the special editions, then fair enough.

      It's gonna sound crazy to compare star wars to the bible but to me calling Episode 4, The Star Wars, is kinda like calling The Old Testament the Torah or Koran, or like calling the New Testament the Gospels, it's just a name and I have one that I like the specific mouth feel and personal meaning of but I'm not trying to make a factual claim about star wars; I should have researched properly about the name and given clarity in the video instead of assuming my preferred title was an original or even official title, especially since part of the video is about not assuming, but I hope it didn't ruin the video for you too much

    • @Fizz.mp4
      @Fizz.mp4  11 дней назад

      I got no problem with people who criticize or complain about Star Wars and if you don't like it please open your mouth and articulate what you don't like but I don't think saying "this film shouldn't exist" or "this film is ruining society or culture" is a valid criticism someone should be rewarded for with social or monetary incentives like youtubers are; the most viewed, highest ad revenue, greatest subscriber count Star Wars channels have built much of their fan bases off wishing Daisy Ridley and the Star Wars sequels into the grave and this video is forty five minutes of screaming against that while also talking about what I like and dislike about Star Wars

I used to really enjoy them; now, I just want good movies and tv shows. The last true quality movie was Return of the Jedi and I have tons of problems with that movie. I don't enjoy most Star Wars content but love Star Wars. The potential for true greatness is there but no one has gotten close. Not even your beloved Andor. Suffice to say, not a fan.

    Unless you were there when Star Wars came out in the 70s, you really have no idea. I mean that in the most respectful way possible. When it hit, it was a cultural moment that stood out and you realized it in real time. The equivalent of when Grunge absolutely altered the music space. Or the dawn of the Internet. Almost overnight, the entire game had changed. To use a much-diluted term, it was a milestone.
    Studying the influences, inspirations, motives, aesthetics, the art, or the cultural impact of SW is no more or less affected or inane than literary analyses of past creative media. As far as liking any of the SW Media that has been produced, that is a matter of taste; and some take their critique too far. Some fans, reviewers and movie critics have created a toxic atmosphere, and the space has become a battleground in the culture war. This has given oxygen to an emphatic negativity that borders on hatred. Which is unfortunate. It used to be said that "hate" was a strong word, and people were cautioned against using it so cavalierly.
    I really enjoy the thought and effort you place in your videos. Your work is definitely greatly appreciated.

      This guy has awful takes. A guy that cherry picks a few Star Wars films and says he’s a fan. Real fans don’t cherry pick a film or two and say they like Star Wars. All the boomers that only like a New Hope and Empire only like an aspect of Star Wars, not the overarching story, lore and world building. A real Star Wars fan sees consistent lore and stories that are cohesive and can appreciate it even if a particular piece of content flops a little delivering it. Absolutely hating Attack of the Clones like the maker of this video does shows that they don’t like Star Wars for what it truly is. Freaking out over any cute creature like an Ewok or something also misses one of the biggest draws to Star Wars. Lighthearted quirkiness that overlays a dark plot.
      Disney Star Wars isn’t cohesive, maybe the prequels were a little cringe sometimes, but there was love and effort put into them, Disney trash is all political agenda and random writers/directors shooting their shot hoping it sticks. Lazy music, writing, plot and more. It feels spray and pray and that’s why folks have rallied around the prequels as they see the contrast.
      Anyone that calls Andor a masterpiece also has a few screws loose. It was decent and was one of the better shows. But anyone who has watched real high quality films and TV series knows it was only decent.
      I don’t think any singular Star Wars film on its own is a masterpiece, and it most certainly can’t be likened to any other genre, it’s kind of in its own category. However, the overall lore, and plot is so enthralling and unique, that’s why it’s good.

      I don't think I have to love everything to say I am a fan of star wars. people are football fans and only like one team.
