I miss everything about their dynamic. Beth is the only one who has ever brought out this vulnerability in Daryl. The Walking Dead has never had a connection like that. Truly the best.
What about the vulnerability he shows with Carol? I'm not saying they have romantic attachment persay, even though there seems to be hints thag there could be something there, but regardless, they obviously have a strong bond of trust, and have been through a lot together.

Norman has literally said Beth is the one who gave Daryl hope and taught him to feel things. It's Beth's earnestness and sweetness that allows him to be so open with her including carrying her around for the heck of it, asking her to sing for him, etc. It's obviously a very different dynamic.

Daryl's the same way and I think that freezes him a little bit, even as they bond over it. With Beth here, he's unrestrained, partly because he honestly thinks everyone else is dead but also because of the pent up resentment he has for Beth's upbringing compared to his own. He tries not to let it get to him, but he's only human, and in the end they become friends.

He became her protector and best friend and it had the strongest points to develop into a romantic entanglement but unfortunately did not. The writers had to kill off her character because she wanted to pursue her singing career. But if that hadn’t been the case, she and Daryl definitely would have been together.
I like how when he's talking about how Beth will never see anyone again, he doesn't say Maggie first which would be most important for Beth, but Rick. It shows that in that moment he's really yelling at himself because he's also trying to deal with the fact that he'll never see his family again, mainly his brother, Rick.

You can tell how much he cares about her and her opinion when she said the prison question the “is that what you think of me?” And the IMMEDIATE tantrum he threw. 😭 if only he had run out 30 seconds sooner or if she had stayed in the tree line they might’ve ended up still together 😭

Nah tbh he was always kind even back then, in this moment he was drunk and he had lost all hope. The Governor had attacked the prison, killed Hershel and destroyed their home. He also thought everyone had died or he'd never see them again

He'd been living the apocalypse world before it even happened. Surviving. The prison was the first time in his life he had true family and a place to call home and it was brutally ripped from him. Daryl is always one to put stuff on himself too so I think he also somewhat blames himself for it.

I love Beth her character, her personality and everything and when I saw her death I actually cried so 2 years later when I created my fanfic on the show I made her lived and in fact in my head canon, Beth lived to the current season of the show and her and Daryl had 4 kids and living a happy life
Daryl is like that juvenile kid who's family never cares about him, and he just hates school, i feel daryl, when he met these people they accepted him, and you should see how great of a leader he is now.
I stopped watching this show after Beth was killed. They killed her for solely Daryl’s man pain and nothing else. She deserved better. She deserved a real arc. And Daryl deserved happiness. That’s why I’ve been done with show since 2015.
It’s honestly INSANE to me that the writers of this show saw the chemistry between Daryl and Beth and went “ya know what? Let’s only make this last an episode and a half.”
Carl's death had nothing to do with the writers, same as Rick leaving... The actor who played Carl needed to leave to focus on his education so they had to write him out.

One thing about Daryl is that he puts the blame on himself whenever something bad happens to the group. He blamed himself for the governor taking away the prison, Beth's death, and Glenn's death. All of those weren't his fault and yet, he thinks they were all heavily his mistake. But the whole group always reassure him that whatever happened is not on him.
Am still watching things episode I don't know how many times I have to watch it and never gets old 2024 .... This is the only thing that's good in reruns ...
I remember when this episode aired people said it was the worst episode ever because it was too much of a filler episode but it has aged like fine wine.
This period of TWD right after they all split into groups after the prison raid was literally my absolute favourite time, and the Daryl/Beth scenes were my favourite within each episode! Knew it was too good to last, but I loved their chemistry and would've loved to see more of its development. Would've hard-core shipped them❤
Pretty interesting. For folks that don't think about human behavior, this is one way a man will deal with grief. First they get angry, rage at everything, then eventually after exhausted, the real emotion surfaces. And that's deep sadness.
In a perfect world, she's actually revealed to be Maggie's big sister, and that Herschel told e1 she was younger to keep guys away. Her and Daryl are happy together still.
Rick had a forced goal to keep his group alive. Darryl on the other hand seemed to only care in stoicism, not showing his emotions as that shows weakness, which he learned growing up. As the show progressed, we saw Rick slowly become a savage from his normal American life but also saw Darryl become a decent human being from his life of abuse. Theyre like Ying and Yang but Darryl outlived Rick. As if he ultimately became the better of the two.
Daryl is cursed with being built for this world. He knows how to outlive everyone, so he'll always keep finding himself alone.

I think hershel and dale was the moral backbone of the group, after he passed away things started getting more primal with how they did things
This period of TWD right after they all split into groups after the prison raid was literally my absolute favourite time, and the Daryl/Beth scenes were my favourite within each episode! Knew it was too good to last, but I loved their chemistry and would've loved to see more of its development. Would've hard-core shipped them❤

Pretty interesting. For folks that don't think about human behavior, this is one way a man will deal with grief. First they get angry, rage at everything, then eventually after exhausted, the real emotion surfaces. And that's deep sadness.
In a perfect world, she's actually revealed to be Maggie's big sister, and that Herschel told e1 she was younger to keep guys away. Her and Daryl are happy together still.

Rick had a forced goal to keep his group alive.
Darryl on the other hand seemed to only care in stoicism, not showing his emotions as that shows weakness, which he learned growing up.
As the show progressed, we saw Rick slowly become a savage from his normal American life but also saw Darryl become a decent human being from his life of abuse. Theyre like Ying and Yang but Darryl outlived Rick. As if he ultimately became the better of the two.
Rick is still alive. He was just taken away.
I actually got scared for Beth when Daryl got Drunk.
Daryl's not the type to hurt someone in the group like that, he might yell but hes never gonna do anything
