Johnny, you hit the nail on the head regarding a comment you made on healing. When people are not healed according to many Pentecostals, it is because the afflicted doesn't have enough faith. This places a tremendous burden on the person needing healing. It is as though we are saying the sick person is sick because it is their own fault.
This is great. We should all strive to defend the Bible and God's word. We all love one another but that doesn't make it right or we shouldn't allow our loved ones to take a few scriptures,take what our parents and friends have told us our entire lives about the Bible and start inventing out own religion. We need to study the SCRIPTURES DAILY!
Unsatisfactory response, bro. You have no authority to say that God cannot/does not heal today just because you don't believe in the charismatic gifts (knowledge, prophecy, tongues). God's ability to heal powerfully is different. James 5 tells us that prayer is powerful and just because people aren't healed all the time doesn't mean that God never heals. According to your undeveloped logic on this topic, James chapter 5 and Paul's denied prayer request to have the thorn in his flesh removed cannot be in the same Bible. A more biblical approach is to say God can still heal through our prayers, but we cannot preform it on command. Saying God is limited to healing "providentially" and never directly has no biblical warrant. Even if it is true that God's healing process is so undetected as to be easily attributed to the natural world, it means that God most likely controls every this physical world. It would mean not a leaf falls to the ground, a blade of grass blows in the wind, or a cell of our body moves without His commanding it. I have no problem with believing He has that amount of control, but I doubt you share that same view of His sovereignty (forgive me if I'm wrong).
If we don't see healing, it doesn't mean is a lack of faith to heal someone but a lack of restoration of truth, but it will return to the church as we are restored to truth. But you can't say it doesn't ever going to happen.
Anyone ever noticed how fiftycentsable NEVER uses scriptures in any of his comments? He just rants about what he does not like. You know one thing people did not like in the first century, "Retaining God in their knowledge" - Romans 1:28) fiftycentsable does not like to retain God in his knowledge which is why he feels the need to wrest with the scripture (2Pet. 3:16).

I agree that prayer without doubting from a brother or sister who has the gift of healing (and is living in holiness) can have the effect of a complete healing. Abiding in Christ I also have experienced a strengthened assurance of being heard by God. By the way, honestly Johnny. I have been in a Church of Christ in Holland for about a year (now I am in an ICOC church). I have seen a danger of being tied to the letter there, leading to pride and to legalism (notably the musical instruments doctrine). The results lead to the group there not being blessed by added members but staying small for years and years. There was no drive to evangelize in the members I noticed and I believe that was because the Spirit did not inspire them to do that because of a wrong representation of the God from the Bible in that church. That did not surprise me. Teaching that God is against using instruments in worship was a reason to me that God did not add others to us there, for according to the Bible it is not true. One only has to look at the psalms to see that. The church I was in actually fell apart and I went to an ICOC church, having learned some things. Well it shows that there probably is no perfect biblical church until the last day.
Why bother to pray if God cannot answer prayers if we live in a materialistic world of cause and effect that no amount of prayer can change. You believe in the past but nothing now.
People want to believe what they wanna believe because it takes their title ship away. They want their congregation to look up to them as somebody higher than a human being. That’s how a lot of these big, phony preachers get rich.
The Bible never says God will not longer do any miracles after the time of the Apostles. This tradition was not believed during the 400+ years of the Ante-Nicene Church. Study before you make such claims and do not repeat the errors of the Reformed and Baptist Churches.
