Painting engine covers in a 2014 Lexus IS 250 F Sport

Hey Guys. I did a DIY project and painted my engine covers. It was a 4 day process, because I allowed for one full day of drying. The red paint defeated me because it got all over things it was not supposed to, lol, so be careful with that. This was not a bad DIY project to do at all and I really enjoyed doing it myself. The red paint just gave my engine a 'POP"! I have listed all the products I used below for reference. Nice job 👍. Next time put the paint cans in warm water to thin out the paint it apply alot better. Nothing is better than doing it yourself 👍😁.

If anyone does to do this themselves, do not spray like she did in the video. Instead, use several thin coats. If you spray one thick coat instead of several thin ones, it will have orange peel and it will not look good. There’s videos on RUclips that show how to spray properly. Otherwise, good video!

First, clean and decrease your components before wet sanding or spraying or decreasing.
Next, remove all the dust and grit by air pressure ot tack rag on all Coats.
Next, its not best practice too stand over parts laidd horizontally on the ground.
Raise them up on a table or bench in a manner thee you will hold the spray can from 45° to near vertical.
Them definitely spray multiple thin coats compared to one heavy one!
