Hey guys I'm going to be attempting to do my steering if the rack is not in centre does it matter ?
Thanks for the tutorial. Are Nissan racks not centered from the factory? I'm wondering why there are two different sizes of spacer in your kit..
What type of loctite should one use?
What if both sides are recessed? Do you take both recessed measurements and make them equal?

What will happen if you install it right away? Not centering the rack
I just installed a new rack on my camry but didnt center the rack before installing. If i take the boots off the inner tie rods and do the measurements will i be able to center the rack this way. For the rack to be centered the measurements have to be the same on each side correct? Or do i have to take the whole rack out and center it? Any help would be very much appreciated.
It can be done by removing the boots.
I’m getting even measurements on the rack but when turning the steering wheel I’m getting more turns to the right vs the left
Loosen steering joint, center the wheels then the steering wheel and tighten
The pinion was prolly put in with rack off center.
Was it a remanufactured rack?
Sorry for the dumb question but what if in the first place my steering rack is not centered? I leave it centered and then i remove the steering wheel and correct it and thats it?

Providing you are measuring correctly it will work for all chassis.

Pointless gadgets to Correct a Very minor proble.
Better 'fixed' By simply repositioning the UJ to the rack pinio.
Free AND Much easier as well as the mechanically superior solution.
Absolutely useless unless I wanted to buy some junk No help at all for my questions
Just put a new rack in the S14 and couldn't get it centered...
