When it was clear that dear Ed Miliband's best was not good enough I personally urged Hilary Benn via his Office to stand for the leadership of the Labour Party but it transpired that he was simply not willing...so we got Corbyn and now the rest is history, incl. 12 years of abysmal Tory govt. Can't blame Hilary, I guess, but oh how much better our lives would have been had he stood for Party leader, think no Brexit or ongoing mess in NI for starters.
