Thank you for being quiet about the location. I live not far away and have been traveling those exact roads for my whole life. It's becoming overrun with people and new technologies are not helping matters.
Ha! No doubt. It’s the natural badge of honor. I just got back today from another trip and it got down to 12 degrees. I was joking how in the summer I couldn’t wait for some winter overland trips and now I can’t wait for spring to get here, lol.
Nice video, really enjoyable. I was a little worried about poison ivy when you were looking for the road out. That and rattlesnakes! Thanks for the video and inspiration! Cheers Mike
Wow absolutely gorgeous there what a awesome trip would say definitely scout approved one lucky dog great drone shots good stuff brother as always be safe 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Carol! Really glad you enjoyed it. I’m learning and tweaking things as I go. I tweaked the sound, both music and voice so thanks for the feedback. Ordered another mic that should cut down the wind noise. Drone shots were pretty good but I used too dark of a filter so the colors weren’t very vibrant. Only way to learn is by doing! We love our trail dogs that’s for sure. Greatly appreciate the comment Carol!
Really enjoy your videos! Grew up in Eastern Oregon (now in Kentucky) so the high desert videos are a little slice of home. Scout is a beautiful pup BTW!
Ur always on an awesome adventure and the area is always beautiful I would love to adventure out like this and do some amazing fishing out there thanks for sharing
Thanks Geezee, glad you enjoyed the videos! I’ve been wanting to get back into fishing. We come across some pretty cool places to fish and it would be great to take a break and throw out a line.

You’ll find out what you like and don’t like about your gear, what roads on a map will actually be interesting and what areas are worth exploring. Happy exploring Geezee!

Yes where is this? Oregon's little Grand Canyon, it looks like the steens area? We are going on a 4-5 day run out there. I'd sure like to add it in to our trip.
It’s one of the canyons in Eastern Oregon close to Idaho. I’d hit up the area South of Steens when your down there on your trip. It’s a pretty cool area.
@@OverlandScout81 thanks, yeah we plan on going through sheldon refuge, we will stay our first night at virgin valley camp ground, then check out 1000 creek gorge and the bog hot river near denio
@@Beefy912 I was just down in the Virgin Valley a few weeks ago, as well as did a stop at Bog Hot springs. Bog is way too hot and open of an area to bother with in the summer. Save that for fall/winter when it's colder out. When you are down at Virgin Valley, take your rig and do a day trip up to Royale Peacock Opal mine, but go straight at their turn off (about 8 miles from the Virgin Valley campground. Just follow that trail up and to the right through Mud Spring Canyon. You'll pass right through the old homestead and can get pretty damn far up in the canyon for some great rock hunting if you are into that kind of thing. We made it about 3 miles up past the homestead and had to head back, as I got stung three times by a Nevada Bumblebee. Biggest bumblebee I've ever seen! Size of a man's thumb kind of big. He got caught up in my shirt sleeve and stung his way down my arm to my stomach where I smashed him on command. Good luck and have fun! If you need any more ideas of where to overland out there, gimme a holla.
another great video, could you give me the location of the first river? It is fantastic to cross that river and camp on the other side, good luck and keep uploading more fantastic videos
We had such a great time. It took three trips out that way and a lot of map recon to find it. Now scouting for the next place…I enjoy the hunt for new places more than anything.
@C_INSAYN Historically there are redband rainbow trout in those waters, but the water is relatively warm and most of the fish found there nowadays are smallmouth bass. But you never know. The best way to find out for sure is to cast a line!
Thanks Quinn really appreciate it. The bracket I have is from TrailRax. It mounts/bolts onto the rain gutter. I have a JL which is mounted easily and with zero alterations to the hardtop. They make them for the JK too but I believe there’s drilling involved with that version.
Thanks Captain T! Really glad you enjoy it. It’s a work in progress and its been fun making these videos and I enjoy the engagement it brings. We use GMRS radios for comms. I run the Midland MXT40 base unit and a few Boefang handhelds. I generally run their stubby 3db antenna on the left side of the hood and I also have a longer 6db if I need extra range. We’ve had comps out to about 10 miles with the base units. I also have CB with a fire stick antenna but stopped using that a long time ago. Hope this helps!
Hey Christopher, no fires in the area. It was dusty and I unfortunately had too dark of a filter on my drone so the shots came out dark. Still learning and tweaking video equipment.

What river is that?
Another group camping in a river bed. If it rains miles away it can send a wall of water and wash you all away. I sure wish you guys would stop that.
