Fun trip. I did almost exactly the same trip in Sept, but starting in Bend. I decided the Western approach to Three Forks hotsprings wasn't a good idea solo with no spotter, skid plates, or sliders though and turned around before I got into trouble.

Great video, love the wild horses and water crossing. I've been meaning to get out that direction, but am focusing on the Brothers area this season. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us! 😀

Succor, Sands Basin. Always reminds me of an old western movie.

How far up the east side of the river was the tree blocking the road? I'm currently planning a trip to the Owyhee River/Canyon area.

I doubt you'll encounter the road we were checking out....it's barely on the map and I made a dumb route choice

Sounds like a fun trip! The road we took is blocked off with big cement blocks if your coming down into the canyon from the east side but climbing up and out from the west side it wasn’t blocked off. The turn off we took is down around the vault toilet.

@@exploremoreoverland3812 You could def get a moto around that tree blocking the road, just not a truck.

Worked a summer in Eastern Or. This itinerary really makes no sense, unless you simply intend to disrespect a vehicle. That desert can be very deadly. You don't seem to be "a poor blind innocent." Why take on a project in complete ignorance?
