Just randomly went to this link and I am a drummer and always looking for cool new videos, and wow......just so impressive. I wonder what I would do without youtube. I might have never heard of or seen this guy. That groove in the 1:00, such awesome technique. If I heard that on a record, I would think it was happening with two hands. Kind of reminds me of Weckl. Glad I found this guy.
wow. I'm not a fan of weird odd-times but that 16-beat is very impressive. A bit Vinnie Colaiuta-ish style but with his own strong drive. 3:36-3:37 is a killer. I'm so gonna steal that one! :D
I like to see traditional grip. It does give some more options, and David plays with lots of power it really translates to pop/rock well when he's with nelly furtado.
yea im not sure i get what you see that would merit you saying that. there is literally nothing you could really chop this guy down about hes obviously done all his homework. maybe the odd way the song is phrased? idk dude i would look to this guy for inspiration instead of knocking him he really is the type of drummer anyone would be lucky to be able to play like.
like wtf? You can't get a tighter groove from hardly any white drummer. The tempo is 143 and those 16th notes on the hihat with those bass drum patterns are quite challenging to get flowing.
I was 8 yrs old when this was uploaded... Im i 23 previous month
Langguth's groove is so in the pocket. Awesome video!
one word.. amazing!!!!
the man is a beast!!! love the traditional grip baby!!!!

you are awesome, i like your technique.
congratulation
I would guestimate that 99.9% Of people making comments (myself included) about him are'nt a quater of the drummer that he is. RESPECT
Dave's a buddy of mine and graduated from Berkley .....just so you know he has done plenty of homework :)
I know Dave Langguth and good call he is a huge Dave Weckl fan!
Killer!
