Steve has been my favourite drummer since I first saw him as a young 18 year old with the Style Council!! I've since been lucky enough to have a week long drumming "holiday!!" With him and Gregg Bissonette plus a few private lessons!! I learnt so many valuable lessons!!
Ive just come back from the Freddie Gee drum camp and was so privileged to have been taught by Pete and Steve. Its reignited my love for drumming. They have impressed upon me that we all have the ability to become great at the instrument with focus, application and time. Thanks for sharing Ian.
Shame I missed this show. Thanks for holding the flag for Big Band music. It's an inspiration to listen to this, and the line up was astounding. Looking forward to the next show.
Hi Ian! This just popped up in my channel. So great to see brother! Sat sipping my morning coffee about to get on my drums. Really enjoying watching this. Keep groovin' the passion brother! 👍👍
Steve and Pete, such great artistes.Love this wonderful music...My dad loved it and so Do I...It took me a few years..I am 55 yrs old..and still carn't get that pure swing feel, but these guys help..thank you so much. i will get there.
pete you are the shiny light in Big band drumming, i did say hello at the Birmingham drum festival at Cocks Moor last year,my little welsh mate hogged your attention.Looking forward to having a chat at this years do..all the best.
don't recall Steve White ever drumming for Oasis. His brother Alan did. Steve is best known for The Style Council, Paul Weller's band, The Who, Trio Valore & The Family Silver, although there have been other projects.
Your ride cymbal sounds a lot dryer on this video t h a n the one on your 4 part series. Could be the same one but it sounds a lot better to me! And always listen to your father Joe Morello is the greatest of all time! Nice work!
I really loved these videos you did. I came across big band music when I was about 7 years old but never really got into it, but I respected the musicianship because it all sounded so complicated to me at the time. Now that I'm taking drum lessons I've been having a blast playing Jazz music and have been listening to this music more and more. Amazing playing and drummers. It's seriously a huge inspiration!

Got to love Steve White and his humbleness and almost self deprecating ways.
Fact is he is an absolutely bloody awesome drummer.

I was at one of the shows, it featured so many fab musicians.
Inspiration. I dare make a goal to play with a orchestra, but I have begun the journey to see what is out there and this is nothing but inspiration.
Steve white
True professional
Love his groove , taste , restraint - what he doesn’t play is as important as what he does
Peter you have motivated me to start playing. I took my second lesson today and absolutely love it. Love the Big Band sounds.
That's fantastic. Have fun and good luck with your drumming.
Love playing Big Band drums. Started out listening to Buddy.
Steve White, fantastic, his sky show the art of drumming inspired me to take up playing .❤
Don't forget Dave Weckl fantastic drummer!!! His playing is so inspiring!! He is a beast on the kit for sure!!,👍👍😁😁

Here is Steve playing with Oasis in LA, standing in for Alan.
nice one Ian, I wasn't aware of this.
His playing on Paul Weller's Wild Wood album was hugely inspiring
Brilliant brilliant brilliant!
Why do you have Pete speaking over his playing? Kinda hard to hear the song.
Right,can't hear them drums!
Steve White kills here....
An excellent video featuring great drum players
Yes.
Great drummers and all that, but it would've make it a bit more fun if they were not talking bout this that and the other 😊
Agreed too much talking, can't hear some of the drum parts
Buddy Rich was nice to somebody TWICE?
The greatest not there Buddy Rich.
Vinnie Colaiuta is the greatest all around player ever.
