The next year I would travel far from home for college and think of her, and of this song. Still to this day, this song conjures it all up. Thanks to Christine for giving us the gift of her voice and her ability to touch our souls. May God smile on her for all she did and gave.
That is because Stevie actually sings. Many of her vocal parts on the album were erased by Lindsey on his and Christine's songs because she had entered the studio having just come out of rehab for her then addiction and was still a bit intoxicated, so her vocal parts weren't up to standard. Grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac and was fortunate enough to see them in concert back in 1982 on the Mirage Tour. I remember it like it was yesterday and for all the concerts I have ever seen this was the most memorable. God I loved this woman! Her songs surrounded me throughout the good times as well as the bad. I remember purchasing her first solo album "Christine McVie" at a time in my life when I was going through a very rough patch and couldn't stop listening to it. One song resonated with me which was "Wish You Were Here", no relation to Pink Floyd's masterpiece. "I wish you were here holding me tight. When I had you here near everything was alright. I wish you were here because I feel like a child tonight". Your legacy lives on through your music! Forever in Our Hearts!!!!! Fly Angel fly!!!
