    You really spoke to me here man. One of the best videos ive ever seen
    dint start skating and pickup hockey till I will 18-20 years old here in Northern California.
    First thing I noticed was my 30 year old wooden stick was keeping me down, and if I could only afford a stick with some flex id instantly be in another level of shooting. Never did get that stick.
    10 years later, I never stopped skating, and Im trying to take it to the next level and start hockey again. What's very clear to me is my cherished Black Panther Bauers aren't cutting it anymore..I think Ive earned and deserve the very best skate I can get my hands on. I need comfort and responsiveness.! Thank you man. you get me!!

      Glad you enjoyed the video. I feel this one is huge and for some reason don’t get to much feedback on it.

    Hey Justin, I watched the entire video and completely agree with you on ALL points and we came from very similar backgrounds in our introduction to hockey. Skates and sticks are the most important things you need to invest and spend the money on. Everything else you can buy even second-hand...if you're not a germaphobe or grossed out. You can pick up new and refurbished equipment (including skates) at Hockey Stickman. Alternatively; go into you local rink or smaller pro shop and see what deals they have as they generally should provide better value. Unfortunately, here in Toronto - they're all priced at the same cost with the exception of previously mentioned Hockey Stickman (all equipment is pro stock).
    Justin - I literally went out today to Pro Hockey Life here in Toronto to pick up the Warrior Alpha LX Pro and got it for $309 (retails at $359) but they price matched with Just Hockey Toronto. Can't wait to try it out!
    Thanks again for the amazing work you put out in your videos and spending the time. Can't wait until CCM and Bauer finally hook you up with free gear without bias to review their stuff!!

    Which brand of runners do you use? I currently use Bauer LS pulse edge runners. Have you ever tried out Step Steel runners? Appreciate any advice. Thank you

    Keep up the content Justin! I saw an as3 pro stick on sale for £166 ($280 cad) earlier, I might treat myself 😂 seriously though your videos are great for general advice and gear info.

      I just wanted to say, knowing you play beer league and that you are honest and neutral...huge! I watched Pavel barber review the blade stickers you did a few weeks back and I'm... sceptical. He obviously didn't pay for them and he doesn't seem to play hockey, he does tricks etc on his own for content creation. Fair play to him, he is making a living I just think it's important people are aware of who is impartial and who isn't.

      @@phillipthompson5027 I appreciate that Phillip. Yes I saw his review and although a good production video, didn’t seem honest. He danced around the end result. As well he even stated I didn’t play any games with them. Well I play games with all the gear to actually test it, much better than skating around a rink that’s for sure. Real world. I appreciate all support from you and everyone here

    Nice video - I agree that having mid to upper quality level skates and sticks can help your game, however I regularly go back to my Graf skates and older sticks (10 year old tech) and personally I don't see a huge difference in performance. At the end of the day I believe that it's more about reps and the player that will improve your game, not necessarily skates or twigs. (That said, I feel like I'm similar to you and have 4-5 pairs of skates in rotation, multiple sticks/curves and various other equipment depending on who I'm playing with or against!)

      Yeah I’m always changing for reviews
      Of course so I have a go to for me. Example I went to Mach skates and I was a far worse player back in hyperlites I am way better so it’s all about what works for u

    Nice Video!! What are the top 5 sticks you’d recommend in order?

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
      @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews  2 года назад +1

      Lxpro and Ft4 are my top 2 currently. I can’t really put them down. But will be preference a bit as the Next tier is as4, ribcor, geo which are great sticks too. the prostock sticks.com followed by the true catalyst sticks and hyperlite next. I would stay away from the ultrasonic, ac9, covert. That’s just the current releases of course

    Skates sure. I can literally pick up a CCM carbon ribcor and it feels exactly the same to me as a $40 Franklin from Academy. Skates def notice the difference.

    Any advice on specific skates? I have CCM RBZ 80s and I don't think they're stiff enough. They also aren't a perfect fit, I have wide feet.

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
      @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews  2 года назад

      I have wide feet as well, use fit 3 bauers solved that issue for me. I have the hyperlites and enjoyed them
      Going to machs now. Personally I prefer Bauer skates mostly as my foot seems to work well. Skates are all about fit so can’t be like one over another but with your wide feet maybe worth trying a fit three in store.

    Very good points I definitely notice the difference at my level. Sure there are some sick players ripping in some goals with sticks as old as me, but there are worse players (like me) matching their production through the newer stick technology.

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
      @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews  2 года назад

      Yah every bit helps and in the end no matter how good or bad you are adding a good stick will help. Just depends what and how much you would like. Most guys ripping in goals with old sticks would rip even more with better ones

    My honest opinion is if you're not a strong skater, or even a great skater, jumping into a pair of high-end skates with little to no flex might not be the best route. Nor do you need them for a recreational beer league. Not everyone can afford a pair of $1000 USD on a pair of skates for a rec league. Just my 2¢

      The aim here is as I mention is to get the best gear for your game instead of defaulting to super low end sticks and skates.

      @@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews I watched the whole review. From an outside perspective it came off as, "you have to get the best skates to be the best skater/player." Kind of like, "the best players wear and use the best gear." Not hating or chirping. Just giving some insight from a viewer/fellow beer-leaguer/hockey lover point of view. I personally really liked your video on high-end protective gear and why you choose to wear it. I purchased the CCM FT4 (non Pro) protective gear based off that video. So thank you.

      @@daddydubz88 no worries I wasn’t trying to come off candid apologies, I really wanted to hammer that point home at the end get skates and a stick that push you a bit. Make you better or get better. For example have a guy on my team has used grafs for ten years super old skates, recently got hyper lites night and day difference on his play. He could have hit even a 3x or one lower with similar results point Is but the bullet finally upgraded and made a difference. But understand your point of it came off as you mentioned I can improve and work on my scripts and better define my points appreciate the feedback and comments eh
