older but My son and I both use ReAKT 75's top marks from Virginia Tech concussion testing/rankings. $50 on clearance at most places that you can find them as it is an older style. Comfort, safety, style with the color insert vent options, great value.
If people would pay more attention to the Virginia Tech rankings, not only would they be better protected but they'd also save a ton of money. The reality is, though, style and fit are more important to most than protection. Though, the Hyperlite 2 (#18) does rank higher than the Re-Akt 100 (#25) ... whereas the Re-Akt 75 is #4 and the Re-Akt 200 is #2. For Bauer, price to protection, the clear winner is the 75.
Reakt 200 user here. I must admit that it is on a bulkier side with all the padding. I think thermoformable occipital insert is a great idea, helmet feels really locked in on the head. Its a shame they went away from it in newer helmets. Sadly Bauer went all marketing these days and most of their protective, even high end feels expendable and lower quality compared to CCM.
the best helmet ive ever iused was the cascade m1. bauer bought the tech and implemented it for one season. it was the best helmet and so protective.. i still use it and ive been rocked a few times and it has dispersed the impact so i barely feel a thing. its great
Damn dude, I didn’t realize that was you at first! Number 2 plays like his boss is mean to him. lol Glad you’re okay! Good video about a helmet I have no intention of buying. lol
Right? Guys an idiot. He plays like that all the time I’ve never seen the guy smile just pissed off at world so this isn’t out of ordinary guy hates his wife and takes it out at hockey or something
After trying their other hyperlite protective line, there's no way I'd trust their helmet on my head. FWIW, I did smack the shit out of the back of my head using the Reakt 150. I thought I'd die due to the impact, but surprisingly, I didn't feel a thing. I did have a similar issue on the temples in terms of fit for my round head, and so I moved on to the more comfortable Tacks 910, which hopefully I'll never have to test because those fluid pods seem a little sketchy.
@@pi6466 according to those immature enough to think hockey in beer league requires drilling someone because feelings are hurt I guess it’s wierd to me too
I rock the re akt 85. I like that I can adjust it sides and top. I had the tacks 910 but it wasn’t very comfy for me. I do feel like the quality of the ccm stuff in general is far superior to Bauer recently, in every category of gear.
I still have 2 Bauer 4500s that are in great shape but upgraded to the re-akt 85 this spring as since I play beer league that's pretty much no contact I didn't see the need to break the bank.
I use the re akt 150 cause I have a bit of a history with concussions (even very unlucky ones) I got one not to long ago where I took a deflected puck right to the front of the helmet and got one. I heard the 150 was very good and I've worn it since 2018
