Another great and honest review. I bought the trigger 7 pro when the 8 came out because of the sale and I love the stick. I agree sticks don’t usually jump in performance a ton and so upgrading isn’t worth it 99% of the time (for a fat beer leaguer like myself that is). Great review!
Nice work you were ahead of the game on this one. The 7 is dope I’m going to grab one as well started playing no slappers again I used it last year and was perfect for it
Not a huge low kick guy but I’ve always loved the trigger line of sticks, doesn’t sacrifice everything to give you a good release. I feel they’ve always been good in all aspects and they brought me back to liking low kick sticks. Thinking of trying a trigger 8 next. It’s hard to put down the tmp pro tho…
Yeah the tMP is a tough one to let go, the trigger is a good medium as it doesn’t feel like the super tradional low kickers like a Rekker, hzrdus, Vapor
I want to hear what you have to say about the Bauer Proto R. I’m not a huge fan of Bauer sticks, because they seem to under perform the other top manufacturers and their top end sticks. They also seem to have huge durability issues compared to the other major brands. Of course, none of the top end sticks are made for durability, but they don’t break like the Bauer sticks due within their first use, first slap shot, or after a couple uses in competitive games. But my stick connection in Indiana just got some in from the St. Louis Blues team, and they said they’ll send me two of them that are brand new for $410 bucks so I couldn’t pass up that offer. I hope they’re worth it.
I bought a trigger 8 pro and broke the blade. I loved it and want another. Came here for the review to see what you think. It’s the best stick I’ve used so far. I like ccm products. Rarely try other brands
Great review Justin. I agree that the T7P is the better option if your specs are in store. A couple of team players switched to the FT6P (me included) and it’s such a great stick. Would still love CCM to do a batch of T4P sticks tho’, as that model probably tops the trigger series IMO.
I play minor pro and I personally love the ghost. I wasn’t sure how I’d like them since I usually only play defense and depending on which team and league I’m usually just staying back and use a 110+ flex LX Pro. But the minor pro league I’m in we do a lot of cycling on positions so I wanted to try them out. After around 15-20 games and practices now with the ghost I absolutely love them personally. I just wish they made a little bit of a higher flex version around 90-100. 85 still feels a little too whippy to me and at 90-100 sticks start to feel really good all around to me. The puck feel is just phenomenal, and the shots come off with ease which is very similar to my Trigger 7 Pro, but with a little more power behind them. I don’t have to put much effort and force into the shots to get the puck flying at the net like a rocket. One goalie said the shots were coming in so fast and hard that he was having a hard time keeping them in his glove and he could feel the shots through the padding. I was worried about the durability but Beer League Bums Hockey Reviews video on the FT6 Pro made me feel a little more comfortable about the purchase. There’s a guy selling one for pretty cheap so he can get his son a Proto R instead and I’m trying to buy it so I can have a third one and I want to use it as a torture test stick like I did to my first LX Pro I bought ( I bought it because if BLBHR and the LX Pro’s truly are amazing ). In my opinion if you have the money for an FT Ghost then buy it and don’t look back because you won’t regret it. If I was a millionaire I’d buy a couple hundred just to have because they feel great and play great and I could use this stick for the next couple years and not complain. I’m literally selling all the sticks I don’t use anymore to buy more Ghost.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews that is true. It’s a preference for sure. I personally loved it. For roller hockey I didn’t notice it because the pucks lighter but when I went to play ice with it that same day I got them I was actually amazed with it. One thing I did notice though after changing my tape after using it a dozen times is you can see the ribs in the blade bulging out a little bit, and I don’t remeber it being like that when I first looked at them and bought them. Maybe it was like that and I didn’t notice it but it’s the only stick I’ve seen the ribs on the blade pushing out a little bit. I even changed the tape on some other sticks I’ve used just as much and you can’t see the ribs pushing out.
I used to wonder why you didnt do mid level sticks but i agree with what you said about it. Ive started to look harder and find top end everything for cheap over that past few months. Got “pre owned” jetspeed ft6 pro shoulder pads and pants off ebay from a store and when these things showed up they were brand new just without the hang tags and they were literally about 50% the price of new ones. I dont buy low end anything anymore

great stick, like i told you i did buy it and i do find a lot of similarities to the trigger 7 pro but the blade dampening and the reimagined rib grip technology they have added have actually improved my game a lot, not only that but i did head up a flex and my shot has improved, great review though keep up the good work.
Thanks for the review. i can´t really decide between the FT6 Pro, Trigger 8 and FT Ghost. I´m still using the FT4 pro which i really liked so far. maybe a bit quicker release would be nice. What is your recommendation?
If you like the 4 the 6 is just a better version. The ghost is the 6 with a dampended blade and the trigger 8 is as great stick but isn’t as good as the ft6. Can’t go wrong with all 3 depending on play style And needs
I 100% agree with you the 7 pro and 8 pro are amazing sticks and although they are low kick sticks, they do pack heat with a slap-shot. I got both the 8 Pro and the FT6 Pro and both are amazing at slapshots and snap. I’m not gonna lie I got the FT6 in a P90TM, I’m usually using the P29. I’m enjoying the P90TM. I found the P28 too inconsistent with shots imo. In this video did you use a shorter stick? Remember we spoke about shot mechanics previously, well in this video your shot mechanics are spot on 🔥🏒.
I picked up a trigger 8 pro in the store and compared it to a trigger 7 pro and despite them weighing pretty much the same, I believe the shaft of the trigger 8 pro is lighter. The blade is much heavier than the trigger 7 pro. Not a fan of the balance of the trigger 8 pro, I'm getting the trigger 7 pro on clearance
these vids are great and i always put a ton of stock in what is said in them. but i bought a trigger 8 mainly because i couldn't find any FT6s locally. i've had Ft3 Ft6 as well as FT6. That being said the Trigger8 is AWESOME. i cant believe how much i love this stick. I usually cut about 1.5 inches off and full taped blade and handle with no butt end. with all that tape the stick weighs 380g. so i would say that weight isnt an issue. the balance on the stick is just amazing. the new blade is great. i never have to worried about the puck rolling off and shooting blanks. my shot may be 2 to 3 mph lower, but it comes off quick. i would definitely buy this again, just maybe in an 80 or 75 flex instead of my usual 85. its probably a low kick thing, but it is more stiff than jetspeed.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews for sure. hopefully not. but i am 95% wrist shot 5% snap shot. 0% slappers so my sticks tend to last very long. that being said i can see my snap shot percentage increase because it is so good with the stick and a heck of a lot more accurate which will lend to my confidence using it to be there. with most sticks i was like a shot gun as opposed to a dialed in rifle.

Crazy I’ve had a couple of them that last forever. But sticks will be sticks and depends on your strength, shooting, playing style and level of play for sure. Without knowing some of that I would say you’re probably just harder on sticks and play a competitive game which just adds wear and tear.

With the ft 6 pro me and a couple others on TikTok and friends have broken the ft6 pro in the same spot but this might just be where the stick flex’s the most so it weekends over time but mine only lasted 3 weeks so it it just the ft6?
Crazy I’ve had a couple of them that last forever. But sticks will be sticks and depends on your strength, shooting, playing style and level of play for sure. Without knowing some of that I would say you’re probably just harder on sticks and play a competitive game which just adds wear and tear.
Justin when are you doing the proto Bauer review ?
Editing vs with the other 2 special sticks now
I thought I remember you saying dropping a flex on the 7 due to it being harder to flex. Does this hold true for the 8?
Similar feel yes. Something I missed
