Aka: did you ever hill climb it at 120mph+ or hold WOT for more than 10 seconds? And no if you lift to shift that’s a different scenario where oil gets to the crank more easily so im asking a different question

Mishimoto rad system, etc. If i decide to tune it'll be a fully built longblock drop in. STI is really tight on the tolerances and I want to drive her as long as I can. From experience, you're absolutely right. 2015 STI bought new in 2014 for about $45k. Since then I have blown the motor twice. Once was covered by warranty and was Subaru's fault for using trash crank bearings. The second time was after I started modifying and had 350 WHP on stock turbo and motor. It was ringland failure. Since I bought the car I have spent at least $55k repairing it and trying different upgrades. I could have bought a very fast GTR for $100k. My STI is still not as fast as I want it to be at 466 WHP. It's a huge disappointment and the worst waste of money in my life.

Should say 15-18 STI, 19+ got the RA block with better ring and bearing tolerances. They hold hella lot more power reliably than any previous year. Coming from a performance channel, you definitely missed the mark on this one. Emphasis needs to be driver mod properly installed. 5th Gear Automotive in Nashville Tennessee has 500+ whp 19+ STI still on the factory block. Once you control boost properly, fuel and turbo upgrades to support the power.

It has the 10103ad020 block instead of the previous 10103ac890. The only difference is the pistons as they're from a different manufacturer, but keep in mind they're still cast made. I've already seen 19+ STIs blow up like every other b4 it from the typical mods most dumb ass owners do to them .
