    I did the same MAP Stage 2 package. I removed the intake for a few months because of heat concerns. I was seeing 170F IATs when sitting in traffic etc. I just reinstalled the intake this weekend after putting some DEI heat reflecting material on the intake. Now I see IAT's that are comparable to the stock intake. Have been running this setup for just over two years and it's great.

    • @ChrisHale0629
      @ChrisHale0629 2 года назад +1

      @@hoodyFPS I'm back on the intake and downpipe now. I've added an equal length manifold and exhaust. Stock injectors and fuel pump. A pro-tune from jazTUNING got the car working flawlessly. I have injectors and a pump ready for the upgraded turbo shortly. You don't need injectors and a pump on the stock turbo on 91, or 93.

    • @FunTimeWithSouls
      @FunTimeWithSouls 6 месяцев назад

      @@ChrisHale0629 you do need injectors if you are running a aftermarket intake and downpipe. You will max out your fuel duty cycle extremely fast. Also get a box and it will drastically change your temp. With a box you should be at ambient or a few degrees higher.

    Hey! Your STI is coming along nicely! Any input into needing fueling upgrades with the downpipe + intake combo on VA chassis EJs? I guess MAPerformance has their own tune to account for that. Curious if you're planning on fueling upgrades in the future.

    • @akqjtn
      @akqjtn  3 года назад

      Thanks! You hit the nail on the head, the OTS tune is pretty conservative so fueling upgrades are not necessary. It's a nice step and you get a decent upgrade while you get more parts to push more power (like fueling upgrades), which is what Im doing.

    One thing I don't like about the turbo snuggie and wraps is that they fall apart overtime. If thr turbo oil feed line get ruptured, oil soaks into the material and will cause a fire. I always recommend high temp ceramic coating like Jet-Hot or SWAIN Tech over the wraps

    Do you get a CEL with the high flow downpipe on your 2020 STi? 2019+ STis have issues with downpipes from what I have gathered. Thank you

    • @gavinbushore4203
      @gavinbushore4203 Год назад +1

      I am still searching the internet on this issue. No one talks about it. I have a 21 STI. I installed an invidia DP with high flow cat. I had a CEL that couldn't be tuned out and with the Cobb Greenspeed movement we are SOL. 2019+ STIs are a tier 3 emissions vehicle meaning the ECU is much more sensitive towards emissions. I've been speaking with many tuning shops and they're aware of this issue. They've recommended to me to purchase a Cobb Gesi cat downpipe. Cobb on their website has removed the VA chassis from the fitment list. The 09+ gesi DP fits and works. There is still a possibility to get a CEL from time to time. But you can clear it and run it. Right now this is the only known part solution for 2019+ sti downpipe. Big price at $1000. Curious as to how others are running DPs without CELs or if they're not sharing that this would be the result.

      @@gavinbushore4203 Thanks for the reply man! Unfortunately the COBB GESI does throw a code. However after some digging around and a few called, Grimmspeed just dropped there version 2 downpipe a few days ago. I was told this downpipe should not throw a code and they advertise the cat to have "OEM level emissions". When I spoke to them it was before they released the downpipe officially, so I would give them a call to confirm. Their customer support is great!

      I do have a video covering that, but in general you don't want to be the guinea pig. I'm sure on paper it will be very tempting though, but the current Gen has that old-school feel that is disappearing more every year. I guess we will see in a couple of days on the reveal.

    My intake bracket bolts snapped when I undid them so now I cannot attach the bracket. I’m also unable to reach the MAF sensor unless I install it the other way around, since I didn’t know I needed the extension. Right now I have it just hanging by the attachment point. What should I do? Get a shop to drill it or find a way to 3M tape the bracket on?
