Perhaps the BEST video I have seen. Very thorough and SIMPLE to follow. You just saved me an expensive maintenance bill. I had a tech come in quoting me at $325, thank you!
Changed out the main control board. Didn’t know why it wouldn’t work until I seen this video. Had no idea you had to calibrate it first. Good video! Saved me a bunch of time and money
Quick question I did the calibration and test. The only light that was not coming on was the done light, every time I put coins into the machine nothing happens no lights no buttons nothing comes on but when I do the calibration test, it runs through the test but like I said that done light does not come on any information would be great thank you so much
Just to let everyone know, you don't get a free wash by doing this. There are different diagnostics that allow you to test each individual cycle but it wont fill the washer full of water . If your trying to achieve a free wash, you would have to remove the screws from the front face of the control knob area and find the 2 wires that are connected to the coin slide switch and score the wires, then touch them together and that would trick the control board and you have a free wash
Just purchase the corresponding key for the control panel, which is located on the top/back end of the coin slider (you can easily view it in the video. Best place to purchase the key is through Amazon (or appropriate website if Amazon somehow doesn't have any results.) When you open the access panel, you'll first want to push the coin slider as far as it can go (without quarters of course) in order to reach the smaller slider which trips the timer. Pull the small slider back until you hear a click (or on some models, until it won't move any further.) If the units in your building are of the same set, then the key will also access the dryer panel as well. This is much more straightforward and easier to locate (not that the washer mechanism requires anything more than common sense to operate). When you open the panel, you'll immediately see a timer w/cam and most likely a lever on top of the timer. Just press that lever. Be careful though, because you can potentially move the cam and cause the machine not to work (which is any easy "fix") or cause it to change the duration of time in which it will run. Ask me how I know... 😂 Personal experience due to previous apartment washing machine/dryer which the landlord decided to charge $2.50 for wash AND dry which is absolutely ridiculous and highly unnecessary/unreasonable. I actually sold the key to another tenant in the building before I moved. (It pays for itself in the long run.. Was roughly $15 on Amazon.) P.S. The appropriate key will NOT unlock the coin bank. Don't be that person. Not only is it immoral, but it's just a flat out sh+tty thing to do and is much deserving of bad karma. It's one thing to get "freebies" which some would consider the same as stealing, but there's clearly a defined line between the two and there's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get by any way you can, without legitimately taking money which you did not earn. Take care! 🙂
@@codyramey6115 hey thanks alot for this! im actually trying to find the right service key with no luck. do you mind telling me what model/key you used for the whirlpool washer/dryers?
I have a problem with whirlpool commercial washer heavy duty series. U put in quarters and it won't start until you unplug then plug the wiring that comes from where you put in quarters and it starts working normal. Has this happened to anyone and how was it fixed?
Hi. Me i ask about water level. I have whirlpool heavy duty but 2nd hand. The water level pill only 1/4 of the tub. Is that normal.? If no how can i fix. Cause with that lvl we only wash 3 to 5 adult shrt in one cycle.
Initially my washing machine had all of the lights on, I ran the diagnostic mode, opened the lid THEN all of the lights went out and the washer started to make a humming noise (coming from the bottom) … the only way I can turn it off is by unplugging it …does anyone have an idea of what to do??? what can be the problem??
you DO NOT need to unplug the machine!! make sure you are starting from the "normal" position in the center. then move the knob: Left, Middle, Right, M, R, M, L, M, L all the lights will begin flashing, and you should continue to move between M and R until BOTH the wash and rinse lights are on. then push the button to start. this will provide a free wash, including final spin.
I have a Maytag commercial washer similar to this one and when I plug in the lid locked light starts flashing and clicks until it locks and remains solid red. Machine won’t start nor can I unlock it with the unlock button? Could it be just the lid switch? Or something else
I don’t think so. I messed up my washer and ran through this process. The washer shook pretty violently a few times then stopped. My clothes were kinda wet but not enough to consider them clean. It’s best to stay honest and keep your rental place running anyway.
@@neondennon I understand what you are saying.... I assure you im not trying to cheat anyone, though.... it's quite the opposite. I have lost money in the machines at my apartments repeatedly, and anytime it's messed up, my landlord refuses to refund the money. So i only hoped to be able to finish my cycle since I often pay two to three times what a cycle costs. Thank you anyways!
No. It only let's you do each selected cycle. It does not fill the basket with water so if you put clothes in nothing will get washed because it only does dry runs And maybe just a very small amount of water. If you are trying to get a free wash you would have to remove the face plate knobs and pull the wires from inside the coin slide switch area and figure out how to touch the two wires to trip the washer into thinking you put quarters in
@Brad of Astoria Oregon why do you have the same video title free wash on your RUclips channel doing almost the same thing as he does? Is it even a free wash does the tub fill all the way with water? Are you a landlord just trying to get even with tenants? Who pay the ridiculously high amount of money to wash on decrepit machines that haven’t been maintenance or cleaned. You lose money and the landlord will not refund you. Luckily I have a car and can go to a laundry mat or a friends house. What about those that have to walk? Huh.
Why you cover you movement with your hand, what kind of video, you explain without showing you movement.. hopefully you re do it again and make your movement clear to people who watch you

If you have a new model with 4 settings instead of 3 treat the "delicates" setting as the center setting and use the same directions.

which two wires? are there multiple behind the knob?

@Brad of Astoria Oregon yet you have a video on your RUclips of the same thing declaring it to be a free wash. Why is that?
this does provide a free wash. but you have to move the knob back and forth until it highlights both wash AND rinse options -- not just rinse.
Mine has leds stuck on all the time, even after unplugging and plugging back in. Any idea what that is?
Does the test cycle technically do a final spin? Is there a way to just to an extra final spin?
does it have to have coins inserted? or will this process bypass the coin requirement?
Whirlpool Washer wont start both Soak wash & Final spin lights on. Wont reset.

With 4 cycles: 12 o'clock reset position. Wait 3-4 sec. Make in a 6 seconds follow sequence - left right right left right.
Can you tell me if filling up to the halfway point is normal on this?

Motor stuck, imo, either drive motor or pump motor, just a guess. What was it?
You don’t need to unplug it

Thank you!! My machines owe me over a dozen failed washes and they just raised the prices. Time to break even

Everyone thats looking for a free wash, just put some coin inserts in. There you go
I did this and the done light just dissapeared
Thank you so much!
Thank you
Is it possible to get it to run a full cycle by one of these processes?
I don’t think so. I messed up my washer and ran through this process. The washer shook pretty violently a few times then stopped. My clothes were kinda wet but not enough to consider them clean. It’s best to stay honest and keep your rental place running anyway.

Lid lock light flashes
As in won't recalibrate
