Very well explained. Simple, concise, clear. Of course, I can't imagine using a Whirlpool direct drive anything in commercial service, but perhaps this one is used privately and they just save the money for then inevitable and frequent repairs.
Awesome video. Thank you for posting it. I would like to know what the button is for on the little black plastic assembly? It does not seem to get pressed mechanically.
I inherited a similar model with a home I just purchased. If I put in enough blanks can I zero it out (free laundry)? is there a way to cut to the chase so I can use the machine without dinking around with inserting blanks?
Thank you for posting this ... I was trying to get the darn thing working via memory from some 20 years ago with the commercial dryers and it hadn't really changed much. The issue I had was (ahem) "... where did that ratchet plate drop from...?".... I had no clue where that came from and didn't know where the extra coin inserts came from... Much Thanks! And trying to reach Whirlpool commercial was a complete challenge...awful...
Don't waste your time trying to phone them. I used this video to raise the price on a very similar mechanism from the early 1980s. Nothing material has changed. The clarity of the video got me through the whole process from start to end in less than 15 minutes on two sliders.
Great video Thanks! My washer somehow can operate without the coin (it operate simply with a push of a green button). By any chance you can share the fix?
The area where the actual machines gets the input (that little black switch where the metal piece pushes against it as the coins are put in) to begin washing is not an incorporated piece on my machine. It’s an extra screw that pushes against it and pushes it forward and then pushes it back. My piece won’t seem to stay put it gets jammed out. Any ideas ?
Hi Drew Joseph. Removing the lid won't give you access to the coins. There is a box underneath the slide that can be unlocked and removed to collect the coins. Thanks for watching! -Carl
@jojitramirez4246 The one that comes with the washer is only able to go up to $2.00. If you need one to go to $2.50 you'll need to add a couple parts, KIT1919 and ACTUATOR. These parts can be ordered from Abt. Please contact our experts at this link for help: www.abt.com/help/contact-us
Do you have a video for the Whirlpool Commercial dryer to change the coin amount? It look quite different inside and I can't get the coin mechanism to come out to change it. I can get the long bolt out, and there is a nut underneath where the coin tray is, but I still can't get it to budge. model ycem2765fq1.
@Dharmesh Bhakta. They are very similar. The washer has an actuator on the back of the slide, which is that plate with the wires attached. The Dryer just has a plate, no wires on the back of the slide. Otherwise, the process of changing the amount is almost identical. Thanks for watching!
@@abtelectronics I took out the coin mechanism but now I am having hard time putting it back together. Can I email you or something? Can you please help me ? Thanks
where the RACHET PLATE goes back ??? you skipped that item when putting it back. This Rachet plate is placed vertical on the side wall in the left hand side wall , it goes in a sort of slot on the side wall. about mounting main plate where the slide connects to the housing of the slide. in some model this is like glued on the side wall and does not fall off.
@workingshlub8861 $2.00 is the max you can go on the slide that comes with the unit. You can order slides in higher denominations if you need something more. Give us a call at 800-860-3736 if you need any help.
I'm just wondering if that's opens up the coin Box to get coins Out of. The fools sell service box key online and I'm having trouble tenants buying the key for the service Box because there's also an override in there i here.
Thank you, very much!!! Dropped ratchet clip and two hour was trying to figure out where it goes. Without ratchet clip, slider slides in but won't slide out. Had to also figure out what to use to get 7 hooks to release so I can pull slider out . Used paper folded like 20 folds and harbor freight orange handles picks. Did this process many times 😪 without any results...until your video. Thank you, very much!!!
Is it possible to disconnect the coin machine with the washing machine? We have one of those at home but the coin box is full so there is no way to put in more coin
If anyone is having an issue with the machine not starting note that when the coin slide was placed back the mechanism for the black switch was not properly placed, so when the coin slide is push back it does not press the black switch... unfortunately this was not covered on the video, adjust properly so that the switch is pressed when the coin slide is push back. This should make the washer work properly.
My coin slide will not take the quarters. It slides in all the way but the coins don’t drop or move they just stay in the slots. Why? What happened and how do I fix this?? 😢
@barbarasmith4259 There could be a number of reasons for that happening. Was the unit purchased from Abt? If so, please send your contact information to youtube@abt.com and we can have one of our technicians reach out to try and help by phone, or if you're local we can set up a service call.
that has just happened to me as well. I'm not sure if its due to me recently getting my meters for the basement changed or what. But neither of my washers are working now.
Hi Frankie. If the dryer was purchased from Abt make sure to contact us. We can try and troubleshoot over the phone and if that doesn't work we have our own technicians that can come out to service the dryer if you're a local customer. Thanks for watching! -Carl
@bangis66 The slide that comes with only goes up to $2.00. They are also available in higher dollar amounts if you need. Give us a call at 800-860-3736 for help finding the right model.
These old things… move to a direct debit/gift card system. The technology could be built cheaper and who’s going to break into a machine with no money?
@EdwinCaucu It depends on the coin slide. If your coin slide only has a maximum of $2.00, then you'll need to purchase a different slide that can accommodate $2.50 or more. If you need to purchase one please give us a call at 800-860-3736 and we can help you place an order. We carry these slides in stock at our store.

great video but unclear on changing cost from $1.50 to $4.00
were you able to figure out to get to 4 dollars
@@rockysanguedolce7272same question here.

Thank you! You are a life saver! This video saved me about an hour worth of scratching my head reading the directions. Thanks again!

What is the process for more money

That is one hell of a time to do it. Lots of work.

Cant wait to take apart my landlords washing machine now
Nice detailed instructions. Where are the coin stickers? Thanks
Could it be any more Difficult to buy something like this now with having to go through all of that
Awesome, thanks. You just saved our HOA $300
Crazy how involved changing the cost is...
Exactly, I thought it would be much easier! This is rediculous
I need extra coin drops. What is the part number and where can I buy them?

I’m learning this to make my grand dad proud of me
He still won't like you lol jk
Any video on coin setting so it can get out of free vending/ select cycle
This was very helpful. I was able to change the coin dryer. However, the coin washer service panel won't open with the key. It's unplugged too.
Where can I get a packet of those stickers?
Yes where?:)

Where do you get a key?
$2.00 is no longer enough.... what does the future hold for these older machines.
what key # is it to open the door ?
Where to get these inserts thats inserted instead blanks?
thank you for the details. does removing the lid (what you do at 27 seconds) give you access to the coins? I am trying to set one up for a tenant.
Hi Drew Joseph. Removing the lid won't give you access to the coins. There is a box underneath the slide that can be unlocked and removed to collect the coins.

I’m sure freaking ALIENS 👽 invented this coin machine. What a pain in the butt!
Thanks! Anyway!
Thanks but there has to be a better freaking way lol.
