Was able to follow this video and change mine within 30 minutes. Great video and thorough instructions.
This is one of the best "how-to" videos I have ever seen. Easy to follow instructions, great camera angles, and start to finish guidance........saved me $100......great job!
Hi Eric Williams - Bass! Thanks for the kind words. Glad we could help. And thanks for watching!
Super helpful and clear!
Thank you. This is actually doable. I need to change the amount and am glad I found this video.
Now I just need to find anew denomination label / sticker for the machine.
Awesome Video, I have been trying to get someone to do this for a while. I am going to now do it myself. Thank you.
This a great video even I could follow this step by step guide.
Before scratching up the top of the machine, I always put down an old towel/rag for tools. Wish I had this video before having to figure it out myself the first time I changed the coin denominations, stops, and pulling out a stuck bent coin.
Thank you! Well-done!
thank you very easy to follow
Thank you! Huge help!
Great how to video thank you for uploading, any videos changing the timer ?
Good Video. You left one thing out. Change the price decal on the front from .75 to the new price.
How do you change it to three dollars if you have a vertical eight slide
How does the machine know that it needs the additional coins to function?
Like how would it know the difference between the .75 and 1.50
Great video! do you have a How To Video on how to replace the coin box for these models? I could'nt find one on your HOW-TO playlist.
where is the switch the coin mech trips to start a wash cycle?
Thank you 🙏
what is the name of the plastic peices and where can I buy them? Great video! Thank you!
Part is Blank Insert for ESD Vertical Coin Mechanism
p/n 21216
available on Amazon & eBay & elsewhere (prices vary widely)
And don't forget to change the sticker price on the front of the slide. Great video though.
what happens when there are more then one denomination of coin used for the price? I am in Canada and I want to change the price from $2.00 down to $1.50. There are $0.25, $1.00 and a $2.00 (not in this case) coins. thanks
Is there a way to go beyond $2?
How do you make it a free washer
If the new dollar amount can be calculated with the same coin slots (eg. 75cents to $1.50 should just be same coin slots that are inserted twice), can't this be done on the software level??
This nigga everywhere😂
The coin mechanism is a ‘no software’ device, purely mechanical , well, electromechanical. The coin slot / plunger part of the mechanism harvests your coins & starts a timer.
Yes, software could handle the case you describe but the coin slot / timer mechanism has been in use for YEARS. It is robust & works with little need for service or maintenance. A wireless coin-less electronic system might be useful in a laundromat situation as it has become with parking meters.
The laundromat owner / operator could reap the benefits of cashless pay … no bill to coin changer & no coin gathering. For an installation with a few machines, coin driven mechanism will be around for a while.
My dryer is starting up without needing coins. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this?
@alejandrosuarez9565 There could be any number of issues causing that. If you purchased your dryer from Abt please send your contact information to youtube@abt.com and we can have one of our technicians reach out by phone to see if they can help.
what if i need to change it from 2 dollars to 4 dollars?
What's the highest amount you can charge for these washers please?
If you stick with quarters it depends on the number of coin slots.
The most common ESD mechanism is 8 slots = $2.
I'm not positive but I think the part with the slots can be changed out
for a part that accepts tokens.
By switching to tokens you might be able boost usage pricing?
What is the part number of the service key you're using?
Did you ever figure this out? Or at least the key code?
@@CaptainCharisma513 unfortunately not, sorry
How can I get a key to open that top part? They key I got opens the coin box but it doesn’t open the top part
@emmanuelsurf If you purchased your Speed Queen washer from Abt, ours use the GR800 service key to open the top part. If it wasn't purchased from Abt you'll need to find the model number of the washer to determine which service key will work for yours.
😊😊😊😊
I did this but now it starts without coins......
lol
Lol you're joking
@@tazyboy28 definitely not joking. I didn’t tighten the screws in the plate all the way after unjammimg and that caused the machine to start with out coins. #protip
@@alexanderalvarez9948 thank you sir. I appreciate the information mation.
Coins are just a link
Is there a way to go beyond two dollars?
Way too much of this was in wide shot and I couldn't see what he was talking about.
