@@AStri-zg5xc I know i know, but both autobiographies say they used weed their entire career, in fact in the van they could smoke joint but not cigarettes
The interesting thing about the Toronto show with Nugent and Aerosmith in which they were booed off the stage is that they came back to Toronto a few weeks or a month later and played a sold out show on their own. They were too far ahead of their time to play in front of mainstream audiences
It was because the Ramones were simply not an opening act. John detailed this in his book. People coming out to see Aerosmith likely didn’t listen to the Ramones, and the Ramones were like no other bands out there. They sold out bars and clubs all the time, or bigger events where they headlined. The Ramones were simply not an opening act, especially for mainstreamers who were t fans of them.
None of us knew the real Johnny. Most people who were actually his friends said Johnny had a good sense of humor and was funny. But when it was time to handle business, he took care of business.
1:40 He knew that what they were doing wouldn’t last long. In his autobiography he states rock and roll being a young man’s game. The raw energy they had can only be done when you are in your prime. And the Ramones did just that; Their songs, live performance, the band itself… it was an explosion of energy that ended quickly; as so it is impossible to get enough of the Ramones. People left the shows in awe trying to make sense out of it, and figured out 2 days later that what they saw ended too soon. So they started their own punk band to relive that energy until the Ramones came back in town.
As an older man, former rockstar wanna be ( my 1st single "Smile on my Face" 1985 was compared on radio to Ramones.) these guys can really kick my ass with truth. They were great, I was, well, pretty good....

I would have loved for Johnny to have lived and done audio commentary tracks on their films. That as the fillms in themselves would have been the total package. RIP
And now Ted Nugent and Aerosmith are shadows of their former selves. I would never pay to go watch an Aerosmith concert today. What is the point. Auto tuning and backing tracks and heaven knows what else they have to do to keep their gimmick up at 80 years old. And Ted Nugent?.... He's not been relevant since the 1970's.
Don’t believe I’ve ever seen Johnny this relaxed and humorous.
Cuz Joey's not there, lol. Watch his interview with Clint "Eaglebaur" Howard, that's a good little one.
They're probably high 😂
@@Pedro-qd7el Johnny barely drank and didn't use drugs....Marky had problems with both but got help in the mid 80s and still to this day is sober.

I was there and left when the Ramones left
They were booked with the wrong bands.
Simple as that.

Very good point

Johnny's wearing an A-2 vintage flight jacket instead of his usual Perfecto...Cool!
Yeah... I know a bunch of you said this... but it IS nice to see Johnny relaxed and having a good time. 🤘🏼

Johnny was tough. He was the responsible for keeping the band playing for more than 20 years
Especially when all that time, the band members couldn't stand each other
True, and Tommy had a lot to do with that too.
Who tf boos the Ramones?
Anthony Sclafani Sex Pistol fans. I personally will never boo.
Ted Nugent invented hard rock, so I’m sure his fans did not appreciate the Ramones trying to take over.
Olivia Newton john fans
People who love money and fame
Traditional hard rock fans were slow to realize how good the Ramones were... until Lemmy from Motorhead told them
dang,marky was a big boy

Ramones are so much better than Ted Nugent and Aerosmith.
RAMONES 1234
Absolutely no disrespect to Tommy Ramone. But, Markey looks more like a Ramone. 👍 Especially sat next to Johnny.
Are you kidding. Tommy on the first album cover was the spitting imagine of a ramone
You nutter 😂
I always thought marc looked right for the band, too.
looks like marky used to eat regular meals, unlike now,he has the zombie crack head look, eat some f*ckin food
